2 | ελεος μου και καταφυγη μου αντιλημπτωρ μου και ρυστης μου υπερασπιστης μου και επ αυτω ηλπισα ο υποτασσων τον λαον μου υπ εμε My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdues my people under me. |
3 | κυριε τι εστιν ανθρωπος οτι εγνωσθης αυτω η υιος ανθρωπου οτι λογιζη αυτον LORD, what is man, that you take knowledge of him! or the son of man, that you make account of him! |
4 | ανθρωπος ματαιοτητι ωμοιωθη αι ημεραι αυτου ωσει σκια παραγουσιν Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passes away. |
5 | κυριε κλινον ουρανους σου και καταβηθι αψαι των ορεων και καπνισθησονται Bow your heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. |
6 | αστραψον αστραπην και σκορπιεις αυτους εξαποστειλον τα βελη σου και συνταραξεις αυτους Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out yours arrows, and destroy them. |
7 | εξαποστειλον την χειρα σου εξ υψους εξελου με και ρυσαι με εξ υδατων πολλων εκ χειρος υιων αλλοτριων Send yours hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children; |
8 | ων το στομα ελαλησεν ματαιοτητα και η δεξια αυτων δεξια αδικιας Whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood. |
9 | ο θεος ωδην καινην ασομαι σοι εν ψαλτηριω δεκαχορδω ψαλω σοι I will sing a new song unto you, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto you. |
10 | τω διδοντι την σωτηριαν τοις βασιλευσιν τω λυτρουμενω δαυιδ τον δουλον αυτου εκ ρομφαιας πονηρας It is he that gives salvation unto kings: who delivers David his servant from the hurtful sword. |
11 | ρυσαι με και εξελου με εκ χειρος υιων αλλοτριων ων το στομα ελαλησεν ματαιοτητα και η δεξια αυτων δεξια αδικιας Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood: |
12 | ων οι υιοι ως νεοφυτα ηδρυμμενα εν τη νεοτητι αυτων αι θυγατερες αυτων κεκαλλωπισμεναι περικεκοσμημεναι ως ομοιωμα ναου That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the embodiment of a palace: |
13 | τα ταμιεια αυτων πληρη εξερευγομενα εκ τουτου εις τουτο τα προβατα αυτων πολυτοκα πληθυνοντα εν ταις εξοδοις αυτων That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets: |
14 | οι βοες αυτων παχεις ουκ εστιν καταπτωμα φραγμου ουδε διεξοδος ουδε κραυγη εν ταις πλατειαις αυτων That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets. |
15 | εμακαρισαν τον λαον ω ταυτα εστιν μακαριος ο λαος ου κυριος ο θεος αυτου Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD. |
