| 1 | ακολαστον οινος και υβριστικον μεθη πας δε ο συμμειγνυμενος αυτη ουκ εσται σοφος ֵ֣ץ הַ֭יַּין הֹמֶ֣ה שֵׁכָ֑ר וְכָל־שֹׁ֥גֶה בּ֝֗וֹ לֹ֣א יֶחְכָּֽם׃ Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. |

| 2 | ου διαφερει απειλη βασιλεως θυμου λεοντος ο δε παροξυνων αυτον αμαρτανει εις την εαυτου ψυχην ַ֣הַם כַּ֭כְּפִיר אֵ֣ימַת מֶ֑לֶךְ מִ֝תְעַבְּר֗וֹ חוֹטֵ֥א נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provokes him to anger sins against his own soul. |
| 3 | δοξα ανδρι αποστρεφεσθαι λοιδοριας πας δε αφρων τοιουτοις συμπλεκεται ָּב֣וֹד לָ֭אִישׁ שֶׁ֣בֶת מֵרִ֑יב וְכָל־אֱ֝וִ֗יל יִתְגַּלָּֽע׃ It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling. |
| 4 | ονειδιζομενος οκνηρος ουκ αισχυνεται ωσαυτως και ο δανιζομενος σιτον εν αμητω ֵ֭חֹרֶף עָצֵ֣ל לֹא־יַחֲרֹ֑שׁ *ישאל **וְשָׁאַ֖ל בַּקָּצִ֣יר וָאָֽיִן׃ The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing. |
| 5 | υδωρ βαθυ βουλη εν καρδια ανδρος ανηρ δε φρονιμος εξαντλησει αυτην ַ֣יִם עֲ֭מֻקִּים עֵצָ֣ה בְלֶב־אִ֑ישׁ וְאִ֖ישׁ תְּבוּנָ֣ה יִדְלֶֽנָּה׃ Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out. |
| 6 | μεγα ανθρωπος και τιμιον ανηρ ελεημων ανδρα δε πιστον εργον ευρειν ָב־אָדָ֗ם יִ֭קְרָא אִ֣ישׁ חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְאִ֥ישׁ אֱ֝מוּנִ֗ים מִ֣י יִמְצָֽא׃ Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? |
| 7 | ος αναστρεφεται αμωμος εν δικαιοσυνη μακαριους τους παιδας αυτου καταλειψει ִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְ בְּתֻמּ֣וֹ צַדִּ֑יק אַשְׁרֵ֖י בָנָ֣יו אַחֲרָֽיו׃ The just man walks in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. |
| 8 | οταν βασιλευς δικαιος καθιση επι θρονου ουκ εναντιουται εν οφθαλμοις αυτου παν πονηρον ֶ֗לֶךְ יוֹשֵׁ֥ב עַל־כִּסֵּא־דִ֑ין מְזָרֶ֖ה בְעֵינָ֣יו כָּל־רָֽע׃ A king that sits in the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes. |
| 9 | τις καυχησεται αγνην εχειν την καρδιαν η τις παρρησιασεται καθαρος ειναι απο αμαρτιων ִֽי־יֹ֭אמַר זִכִּ֣יתִי לִבִּ֑י טָ֝הַ֗רְתִּי מֵחַטָּאתִֽי׃ Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? |
| 10 | σταθμιον μεγα και μικρον και μετρα δισσα ακαθαρτα ενωπιον κυριου και αμφοτερα ֶ֣בֶן וָ֭אֶבֶן אֵיפָ֣ה וְאֵיפָ֑ה תּוֹעֲבַ֥ת יְ֝הוָ֗ה גַּם־שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD. |
| 11 | και ο ποιων αυτα εν τοις επιτηδευμασιν αυτου συμποδισθησεται νεανισκος μετα οσιου και ευθεια η οδος αυτου ַּ֣ם בְּ֭מַעֲלָלָיו יִתְנַכֶּר־נָ֑עַר אִם־זַ֖ךְ וְאִם־יָשָׁ֣ר פָּעֳלֽוֹ׃ Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. |
| 12 | ους ακουει και οφθαλμος ορα κυριου εργα και αμφοτερα ֹ֣זֶן שֹׁ֭מַעַת וְעַ֣יִן רֹאָ֑ה יְ֝הוָ֗ה עָשָׂ֥ה גַם־שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD has made even both of them. |
| 13 | μη αγαπα καταλαλειν ινα μη εξαρθης διανοιξον τους οφθαλμους σου και εμπλησθητι αρτων ַל־תֶּֽאֱהַ֣ב שֵׁ֭נָה פֶּן־תִּוָּרֵ֑שׁ פְּקַ֖ח עֵינֶ֣יךָ שְֽׂבַֽע־לָֽחֶם׃ Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open yours eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread. |
| 14 | ַ֣ע רַ֭ע יֹאמַ֣ר הַקּוֹנֶ֑ה וְאֹזֵ֥ל ל֝֗וֹ אָ֣ז יִתְהַלָּֽל׃ It is nil, it is nil, says the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasts. |
| 15 | ֵ֣שׁ זָ֭הָב וְרָב־פְּנִינִ֑ים וּכְלִ֥י יְ֝קָ֗ר שִׂפְתֵי־דָֽעַת׃ There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel. |
| 16 | ְֽקַח־בִּ֭גְדוֹ כִּי־עָ֣רַב זָ֑ר וּבְעַ֖ד *נכרים **נָכְרִיָּ֣ה חַבְלֵֽהוּ׃ Take his garment that is guarantor for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman. |
| 17 | ָרֵ֣ב לָ֭אִישׁ לֶ֣חֶם שָׁ֑קֶר וְ֝אַחַ֗ר יִמָּֽלֵא־פִ֥יהוּ חָצָֽץ׃ Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel. |
| 18 | ַ֭חֲשָׁבוֹת בְּעֵצָ֣ה תִכּ֑וֹן וּ֝בְתַחְבֻּל֗וֹת עֲשֵׂ֣ה מִלְחָמָֽה׃ Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war. |
| 19 | ּֽוֹלֶה־סּ֭וֹד הוֹלֵ֣ךְ רָכִ֑יל וּלְפֹתֶ֥ה שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו לֹ֣א תִתְעָרָֽב׃ He that goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flatters with his lips. |
| 20 | α κακολογουντος πατερα η μητερα σβεσθησεται λαμπτηρ αι δε κοραι των οφθαλμων αυτου οψονται σκοτος ְ֭קַלֵּל אָבִ֣יו וְאִמּ֑וֹ יִֽדְעַ֥ךְ נֵ֝ר֗וֹ *באישון **בֶּאֱשׁ֥וּן חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ Whoso curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. |
| 21 | β μερις επισπουδαζομενη εν πρωτοις εν τοις τελευταιοις ουκ ευλογηθησεται ַ֭חֲלָה *מבחלת **מְבֹהֶ֣לֶת בָּרִאשֹׁנָ֑ה וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ לֹ֣א תְבֹרָֽךְ׃ An inheritance may be got hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed. |
| 22 | χ μη ειπης τεισομαι τον εχθρον αλλα υπομεινον τον κυριον ινα σοι βοηθηση ַל־תֹּאמַ֥ר אֲשַׁלְּמָה־רָ֑ע קַוֵּ֥ה לַֽ֝יהוָ֗ה וְיֹ֣שַֽׁע לָֽךְ׃ Say not you, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save you. |
| 23 | βδελυγμα κυριω δισσον σταθμιον και ζυγος δολιος ου καλον ενωπιον αυτου ּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְ֭הוָה אֶ֣בֶן וָאָ֑בֶן וּמֹאזְנֵ֖י מִרְמָ֣ה לֹא־טֽוֹב׃ Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good. |
| 24 | παρα κυριου ευθυνεται τα διαβηματα ανδρι θνητος δε πως αν νοησαι τας οδους αυτου ֵיהוָ֥ה מִצְעֲדֵי־גָ֑בֶר וְ֝אָדָ֗ם מַה־יָּבִ֥ין דַּרְכּֽוֹ׃ Man's activities are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way? |
| 25 | παγις ανδρι ταχυ τι των ιδιων αγιασαι μετα γαρ το ευξασθαι μετανοειν γινεται וֹקֵ֣שׁ אָ֭דָם יָ֣לַע קֹ֑דֶשׁ וְאַחַ֖ר נְדָרִ֣ים לְבַקֵּֽר׃ It is a snare to the man who devours that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry. |
| 26 | λικμητωρ ασεβων βασιλευς σοφος και επιβαλει αυτοις τροχον ְזָרֶ֣ה רְ֭שָׁעִים מֶ֣לֶךְ חָכָ֑ם וַיָּ֖שֶׁב עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם אוֹפָֽן׃ A wise king scatters the wicked, and brings the wheel over them. |
| 27 | φως κυριου πνοη ανθρωπων ος ερευνα ταμιεια κοιλιας ֵ֣ר יְ֭הוָה נִשְׁמַ֣ת אָדָ֑ם חֹ֝פֵ֗שׂ כָּל־חַדְרֵי־בָֽטֶן׃ The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. |
| 28 | ελεημοσυνη και αληθεια φυλακη βασιλει και περικυκλωσουσιν εν δικαιοσυνη τον θρονον αυτου ֶ֣סֶד וֶ֭אֱמֶת יִצְּרוּ־מֶ֑לֶךְ וְסָעַ֖ד בַּחֶ֣סֶד כִּסְאֽוֹ׃ Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne supported by mercy. |
| 29 | κοσμος νεανιαις σοφια δοξα δε πρεσβυτερων πολιαι ִּפְאֶ֣רֶת בַּחוּרִ֣ים כֹּחָ֑ם וַהֲדַ֖ר זְקֵנִ֣ים שֵׂיבָֽה׃ The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head. |
| 30 | υπωπια και συντριμματα συναντα κακοις πληγαι δε εις ταμιεια κοιλιας ַבֻּר֣וֹת פֶּ֭צַע *תמריק **תַּמְר֣וּק בְּרָ֑ע וּ֝מַכּ֗וֹת חַדְרֵי־בָֽטֶן׃ The blueness of a wound cleanses away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly. |
