The LORD’s Great Victory Over the Nations
και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων
ַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 υιε ανθρωπου στηρισον το προσωπον σου επι γωγ και την γην του μαγωγ αρχοντα ρως μοσοχ και θοβελ και προφητευσον επ αυτον
ֶּן־אָדָ֗ם שִׂ֤ים פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶל־גּוֹג֙ אֶ֣רֶץ הַמָּג֔וֹג נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֣שֶׁךְ וְתֻבָ֑ל וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עָלָֽיו׃
Son of man, set your face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3 και ειπον αυτω ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος ιδου εγω επι σε γωγ αρχοντα ρως μοσοχ και θοβελ
ְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה הִנְנִ֤י אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ גּ֔וֹג נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֥שֶׁךְ וְתֻבָֽל׃
And say, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
4 και συναξω σε και πασαν την δυναμιν σου ιππους και ιππεις ενδεδυμενους θωρακας παντας συναγωγη πολλη πελται και περικεφαλαιαι και μαχαιραι
ְשׁ֣וֹבַבְתִּ֔יךָ וְנָתַתִּ֥י חַחִ֖ים בִּלְחָיֶ֑יךָ וְהוֹצֵאתִי֩ אוֹתְךָ֨ וְאֶת־כָּל־חֵילֶ֜ךָ סוּסִ֣ים וּפָרָשִׁ֗ים לְבֻשֵׁ֤י מִכְלוֹל֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם קָהָ֥ל רָב֙ צִנָּ֣ה וּמָגֵ֔ן תֹּפְשֵׂ֥י חֲרָב֖וֹת כֻּלָּֽם׃
And I will turn you back, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all yours army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5 περσαι και αιθιοπες και λιβυες παντες περικεφαλαιαις και πελταις
ָּרַ֛ס כּ֥וּשׁ וּפ֖וּט אִתָּ֑ם כֻּלָּ֖ם מָגֵ֥ן וְכוֹבָֽע׃
Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6 γομερ και παντες οι περι αυτον οικος του θεργαμα απ εσχατου βορρα και παντες οι περι αυτον και εθνη πολλα μετα σου
ֹּ֚מֶר וְכָל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יהָ בֵּ֚ית תּֽוֹגַרְמָ֔ה יַרְכְּתֵ֥י צָפ֖וֹן וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲגַפָּ֑יו עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּֽךְ׃
Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with you.
7 ετοιμασθητι ετοιμασον σεαυτον συ και πασα η συναγωγη σου οι συνηγμενοι μετα σου και εση μοι εις προφυλακην
ִכֹּן֙ וְהָכֵ֣ן לְךָ֔ אַתָּ֕ה וְכָל־קְהָלֶ֖ךָ הַנִּקְהָלִ֣ים עָלֶ֑יךָ וְהָיִ֥יתָ לָהֶ֖ם לְמִשְׁמָֽר׃
Be you prepared, and prepare for yourself, you, and all your company that are assembled unto you, and be you a guard unto them.
8 αφ ημερων πλειονων ετοιμασθησεται και επ εσχατου ετων ελευσεται και ηξει εις την γην την απεστραμμενην απο μαχαιρας συνηγμενων απο εθνων πολλων επι γην ισραηλ η εγενηθη ερημος δι ολου και ουτος εξ εθνων εξεληλυθεν και κατοικησουσιν επ ειρηνης απαντες
ִיָּמִ֣ים רַבִּים֮ תִּפָּקֵד֒ בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית הַשָּׁנִ֜ים תָּב֣וֹא ׀ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ ׀ מְשׁוֹבֶ֣בֶת מֵחֶ֗רֶב מְקֻבֶּ֙צֶת֙ מֵעַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים עַ֚ל הָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר־הָי֥וּ לְחָרְבָּ֖ה תָּמִ֑יד וְהִיא֙ מֵעַמִּ֣ים הוּצָ֔אָה וְיָשְׁב֥וּ לָבֶ֖טַח כֻּלָּֽם׃
After many days you shall be visited: in the latter years you shall come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 και αναβηση ως υετος και ηξεις ως νεφελη κατακαλυψαι γην και εση συ και παντες οι περι σε και εθνη πολλα μετα σου
ְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ כַּשֹּׁאָ֣ה תָב֔וֹא כֶּעָנָ֛ן לְכַסּ֥וֹת הָאָ֖רֶץ תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה אַתָּה֙ וְכָל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יךָ וְעַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אוֹתָֽךְ׃ ס
You shall ascend and come like a storm, you shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you, and all your bands, and many people with you.
10 ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος και εσται εν τη ημερα εκεινη αναβησεται ρηματα επι την καρδιαν σου και λογιη λογισμους πονηρους
ֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יַעֲל֤וּ דְבָרִים֙ עַל־לְבָבֶ֔ךָ וְחָשַׁבְתָּ֖ מַחֲשֶׁ֥בֶת רָעָֽה׃
Thus says the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into your mind, and you shall think an evil thought:
11 και ερεις αναβησομαι επι γην απερριμμενην ηξω επι ησυχαζοντας εν ησυχια και οικουντας επ ειρηνης παντας κατοικουντας γην εν η ουχ υπαρχει τειχος ουδε μοχλοι και θυραι ουκ εισιν αυτοις
ְאָמַרְתָּ֗ אֶֽעֱלֶה֙ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ פְּרָז֔וֹת אָבוֹא֙ הַשֹּׁ֣קְטִ֔ים יֹשְׁבֵ֖י לָבֶ֑טַח כֻּלָּ֗ם יֹֽשְׁבִים֙ בְּאֵ֣ין חוֹמָ֔ה וּבְרִ֥יחַ וּדְלָתַ֖יִם אֵ֥ין לָהֶֽם׃
And you shall say, I will go up to the land of villages without protective walls; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 προνομευσαι προνομην και σκυλευσαι σκυλα αυτων του επιστρεψαι χειρα σου εις την ηρημωμενην η κατωκισθη και επ εθνος συνηγμενον απο εθνων πολλων πεποιηκοτας κτησεις κατοικουντας επι τον ομφαλον της γης
ִשְׁלֹ֥ל שָׁלָ֖ל וְלָבֹ֣ז בַּ֑ז לְהָשִׁ֨יב יָדְךָ֜ עַל־חֳרָב֣וֹת נוֹשָׁבֹ֗ת וְאֶל־עַם֙ מְאֻסָּ֣ף מִגּוֹיִ֔ם עֹשֶׂה֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְקִנְיָ֔ן יֹשְׁבֵ֖י עַל־טַבּ֥וּר הָאָֽרֶץ׃
To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn yours hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have got cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
13 σαβα και δαιδαν και εμποροι καρχηδονιοι και πασαι αι κωμαι αυτων ερουσιν σοι εις προνομην του προνομευσαι συ ερχη και σκυλευσαι σκυλα συνηγαγες συναγωγην σου λαβειν αργυριον και χρυσιον απενεγκασθαι κτησιν του σκυλευσαι σκυλα
ְׁבָ֡א וּ֠דְדָן וְסֹחֲרֵ֨י תַרְשִׁ֤ישׁ וְכָל־כְּפִרֶ֙יהָ֙ יֹאמְר֣וּ לְךָ֔ הֲלִשְׁלֹ֤ל שָׁלָל֙ אַתָּ֣ה בָ֔א הֲלָבֹ֥ז בַּ֖ז הִקְהַ֣לְתָּ קְהָלֶ֑ךָ לָשֵׂ֣את ׀ כֶּ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֗ב לָקַ֙חַת֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְקִנְיָ֔ן לִשְׁלֹ֖ל שָׁלָ֥ל גָּדֽוֹל׃ ס
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto you, Are you come to take a spoil? have you gathered your company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
14 δια τουτο προφητευσον υιε ανθρωπου και ειπον τω γωγ ταδε λεγει κυριος ουκ εν τη ημερα εκεινη εν τω κατοικισθηναι τον λαον μου ισραηλ επ ειρηνης εγερθηση
ָכֵן֙ הִנָּבֵ֣א בֶן־אָדָ֔ם וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ לְג֔וֹג כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה הֲל֣וֹא ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא בְּשֶׁ֨בֶת עַמִּ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לָבֶ֖טַח תֵּדָֽע׃
Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus says the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwells safely, shall you not know it?
15 και ηξεις εκ του τοπου σου απ εσχατου βορρα και εθνη πολλα μετα σου αναβαται ιππων παντες συναγωγη μεγαλη και δυναμις πολλη
ּבָ֤אתָ מִמְּקֽוֹמְךָ֙ מִיַּרְכְּתֵ֣י צָפ֔וֹן אַתָּ֕ה וְעַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּ֑ךְ רֹכְבֵ֤י סוּסִים֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם קָהָ֥ל גָּד֖וֹל וְחַ֥יִל רָֽב׃
And you shall come from your place out of the north parts, you, and many people with you, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
16 και αναβηση επι τον λαον μου ισραηλ ως νεφελη καλυψαι γην επ εσχατων των ημερων εσται και αναξω σε επι την γην μου ινα γνωσιν παντα τα εθνη εμε εν τω αγιασθηναι με εν σοι ενωπιον αυτων
ְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ עַל־עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כֶּֽעָנָ֖ן לְכַסּ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית הַיָּמִ֜ים תִּֽהְיֶ֗ה וַהֲבִאוֹתִ֙יךָ֙ עַל־אַרְצִ֔י לְמַעַן֩ דַּ֨עַת הַגּוֹיִ֜ם אֹתִ֗י בְּהִקָּדְשִׁ֥י בְךָ֛ לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם גּֽוֹג׃ ס
And you shall come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring you against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in you, O Gog, before their eyes.
17 ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος τω γωγ συ ει περι ου ελαλησα προ ημερων των εμπροσθεν δια χειρος των δουλων μου προφητων του ισραηλ εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις και ετεσιν του αγαγειν σε επ αυτους
ֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֗ה הַֽאַתָּה־ה֨וּא אֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּ֜רְתִּי בְּיָמִ֣ים קַדְמוֹנִ֗ים בְּיַד֙ עֲבָדַי֙ נְבִיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַֽנִּבְּאִ֛ים בַּיָּמִ֥ים הָהֵ֖ם שָׁנִ֑ים לְהָבִ֥יא אֹתְךָ֖ עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ ס
Thus says the Lord GOD; Are you he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring you against them?
18 και εσται εν τη ημερα εκεινη εν ημερα η αν ελθη γωγ επι την γην του ισραηλ λεγει κυριος κυριος αναβησεται ο θυμος μου
ְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא בְּי֨וֹם בּ֥וֹא גוֹג֙ עַל־אַדְמַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה תַּעֲלֶ֥ה חֲמָתִ֖י בְּאַפִּֽי׃
And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, says the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.
19 και ο ζηλος μου εν πυρι της οργης μου ελαλησα ει μην εν τη ημερα εκεινη εσται σεισμος μεγας επι γης ισραηλ
ּבְקִנְאָתִ֥י בְאֵשׁ־עֶבְרָתִ֖י דִּבַּ֑רְתִּי אִם־לֹ֣א ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִֽהְיֶה֙ רַ֣עַשׁ גָּד֔וֹל עַ֖ל אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
20 και σεισθησονται απο προσωπου κυριου οι ιχθυες της θαλασσης και τα πετεινα του ουρανου και τα θηρια του πεδιου και παντα τα ερπετα τα ερποντα επι της γης και παντες οι ανθρωποι οι επι προσωπου της γης και ραγησεται τα ορη και πεσουνται αι φαραγγες και παν τειχος επι την γην πεσειται
ְרָעֲשׁ֣וּ מִפָּנַ֡י דְּגֵ֣י הַיָּם֩ וְע֨וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם וְחַיַּ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה וְכָל־הָרֶ֙מֶשׂ֙ הָרֹמֵ֣שׂ עַל־הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה וְכֹל֙ הָֽאָדָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הָאֲדָמָ֑ה וְנֶהֶרְס֣וּ הֶהָרִ֗ים וְנָֽפְלוּ֙ הַמַּדְרֵג֔וֹת וְכָל־חוֹמָ֖ה לָאָ֥רֶץ תִּפּֽוֹל׃
So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
21 και καλεσω επ αυτον παν φοβον λεγει κυριος μαχαιρα ανθρωπου επι τον αδελφον αυτου εσται
ְקָרָ֨אתִי עָלָ֤יו לְכָל־הָרַי֙ חֶ֔רֶב נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה חֶ֥רֶב אִ֖ישׁ בְּאָחִ֥יו תִּֽהְיֶֽה׃
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, says the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
22 και κρινω αυτον θανατω και αιματι και υετω κατακλυζοντι και λιθοις χαλαζης και πυρ και θειον βρεξω επ αυτον και επι παντας τους μετ αυτου και επ εθνη πολλα μετ αυτου
ְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּ֥י אִתּ֖וֹ בְּדֶ֣בֶר וּבְדָ֑ם וְגֶ֣שֶׁם שׁוֹטֵף֩ וְאַבְנֵ֨י אֶלְגָּבִ֜ישׁ אֵ֣שׁ וְגָפְרִ֗ית אַמְטִ֤יר עָלָיו֙ וְעַל־אֲגַפָּ֔יו וְעַל־עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אִתּֽוֹ׃
And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
23 και μεγαλυνθησομαι και αγιασθησομαι και ενδοξασθησομαι και γνωσθησομαι εναντιον εθνων πολλων και γνωσονται οτι εγω ειμι κυριος
ְהִתְגַּדִּלְתִּי֙ וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתִּ֔י וְנ֣וֹדַעְתִּ֔י לְעֵינֵ֖י גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֑ים וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ ס
Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
