A Prophecy Against Edom
και εγενετο λογος κυριου προς με λεγων
ַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 υιε ανθρωπου επιστρεψον το προσωπον σου επ ορος σηιρ και προφητευσον επ αυτο
ֶּן־אָדָ֕ם שִׂ֥ים פָּנֶ֖יךָ עַל־הַ֣ר שֵׂעִ֑יר וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עָלָֽיו׃
Son of man, set your face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
3 και ειπον ταδε λεγει κυριος κυριος ιδου εγω επι σε ορος σηιρ και εκτενω την χειρα μου επι σε και δωσω σε ερημον και ερημωθηση
ְאָמַ֣רְתָּ לּ֗וֹ כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה הִנְנִ֥י אֵלֶ֖יךָ הַר־שֵׂעִ֑יר וְנָטִ֤יתִי יָדִי֙ עָלֶ֔יךָ וּנְתַתִּ֖יךָ שְׁמָמָ֥ה וּמְשַׁמָּֽה׃
And say unto it, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against you, and I will stretch out mine hand against you, and I will make you most desolate.
4 και ταις πολεσιν σου ερημιαν ποιησω και συ ερημος εση και γνωση οτι εγω ειμι κυριος
ָרֶ֙יךָ֙ חָרְבָּ֣ה אָשִׂ֔ים וְאַתָּ֖ה שְׁמָמָ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֑ה וְיָדַעְתָּ֖ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate, and you shall know that I am the LORD.
5 αντι του γενεσθαι σε εχθραν αιωνιαν και ενεκαθισας τω οικω ισραηλ δολω εν χειρι εχθρων μαχαιρα εν καιρω αδικιας επ εσχατω
ַ֗עַן הֱי֤וֹת לְךָ֙ אֵיבַ֣ת עוֹלָ֔ם וַתַּגֵּ֥ר אֶת־בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַל־יְדֵי־חָ֑רֶב בְּעֵ֣ת אֵידָ֔ם בְּעֵ֖ת עֲוֺ֥ן קֵֽץ׃
Because you have had a perpetual hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:
6 δια τουτο ζω εγω λεγει κυριος κυριος ει μην εις αιμα ημαρτες και αιμα σε διωξεται
ָכֵ֣ן חַי־אָ֗נִי נְאֻם֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה כִּֽי־לְדָ֥ם אֶעֶשְׂךָ֖ וְדָ֣ם יִרְדֲּפֶ֑ךָ אִם־לֹ֥א דָ֛ם שָׂנֵ֖אתָ וְדָ֥ם יִרְדֲּפֶֽךָ׃
Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will prepare you unto blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, even blood shall pursue you.
7 και δωσω το ορος σηιρ εις ερημον και ηρημωμενον και απολω απ αυτου ανθρωπους και κτηνη
ְנָֽתַתִּי֙ אֶת־הַ֣ר שֵׂעִ֔יר לְשִֽׁמְמָ֖ה וּשְׁמָמָ֑ה וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י מִמֶּ֖נּוּ עֹבֵ֥ר וָשָֽׁב׃
Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passes out and him that returns.
8 και εμπλησω των τραυματιων σου τους βουνους και τας φαραγγας σου και εν πασι τοις πεδιοις σου τετραυματισμενοι μαχαιρα πεσουνται εν σοι
ּמִלֵּאתִ֥י אֶת־הָרָ֖יו חֲלָלָ֑יו גִּבְעוֹתֶ֤יךָ וְגֵאוֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ וְכָל־אֲפִיקֶ֔יךָ חַלְלֵי־חֶ֖רֶב יִפְּל֥וּ בָהֶֽם׃
And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.
9 ερημιαν αιωνιον θησομαι σε και αι πολεις σου ου μη κατοικηθωσιν ετι και γνωση οτι εγω ειμι κυριος
ִֽׁמְמ֤וֹת עוֹלָם֙ אֶתֶּנְךָ֔ וְעָרֶ֖יךָ לֹ֣א *תישבנה **תָשֹׁ֑בְנָה וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
I will make you perpetual desolations, and your cities shall not return: and all of you shall know that I am the LORD.
10 δια το ειπειν σε τα δυο εθνη και αι δυο χωραι εμαι εσονται και κληρονομησω αυτας και κυριος εκει εστιν
ַ֣עַן אֲ֠מָרְךָ אֶת־שְׁנֵ֨י הַגּוֹיִ֜ם וְאֶת־שְׁתֵּ֧י הָאֲרָצ֛וֹת לִ֥י תִהְיֶ֖ינָה וִֽירַשְׁנ֑וּהָ וַֽיהוָ֖ה שָׁ֥ם הָיָֽה׃
Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there:
11 δια τουτο ζω εγω λεγει κυριος και ποιησω σοι κατα την εχθραν σου και γνωσθησομαι σοι ηνικα αν κρινω σε
ָכֵ֣ן חַי־אָ֗נִי נְאֻם֮ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִה֒ וְעָשִׂ֗יתִי כְּאַפְּךָ֙ וּכְקִנְאָ֣תְךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֔יתָה מִשִּׂנְאָתֶ֖יךָ בָּ֑ם וְנוֹדַ֥עְתִּי בָ֖ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר אֶשְׁפְּטֶֽךָ׃
Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will even do according to yours anger, and according to yours envy which you have used out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged you.
12 και γνωση οτι εγω ειμι κυριος ηκουσα της φωνης των βλασφημιων σου οτι ειπας τα ορη ισραηλ ερημα ημιν δεδοται εις καταβρωμα
ְֽיָדַעְתָּ֮ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהוָה֒ שָׁמַ֣עְתִּי ׀ אֶת־כָּל־נָאָֽצוֹתֶ֗יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָמַ֛רְתָּ עַל־הָרֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֣ר ׀ *שממה **שָׁמֵ֑מוּ לָ֥נוּ נִתְּנ֖וּ לְאָכְלָֽה׃
And you shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.
13 και εμεγαλορημονησας επ εμε τω στοματι σου εγω ηκουσα
ַתַּגְדִּ֤ילוּ עָלַי֙ בְּפִיכֶ֔ם וְהַעְתַּרְתֶּ֥ם עָלַ֖י דִּבְרֵיכֶ֑ם אֲנִ֖י שָׁמָֽעְתִּי׃ ס
Thus with your mouth all of you have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
14 ταδε λεγει κυριος εν τη ευφροσυνη πασης της γης ερημον ποιησω σε
ֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה כִּשְׂמֹ֙חַ֙ כָּל־הָאָ֔רֶץ שְׁמָמָ֖ה אֶעֱשֶׂה־לָּֽךְ׃
Thus says the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.
15 ερημον εση ορος σηιρ και πασα η ιδουμαια εξαναλωθησεται και γνωση οτι εγω ειμι κυριος ο θεος αυτων
ְּשִׂמְחָ֨תְךָ֜ לְנַחְלַ֧ת בֵּֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל עַ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־שָׁמֵ֖מָה כֵּ֣ן אֶעֱשֶׂה־לָּ֑ךְ שְׁמָמָ֨ה תִֽהְיֶ֤ה הַר־שֵׂעִיר֙ וְכָל־אֱד֣וֹם כֻּלָּ֔הּ וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ פ
As you did rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto you: you shall be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
