| 1 | Hoshea Last King of Israelεν ετει δωδεκατω τω αχαζ βασιλει ιουδα εβασιλευσεν ωσηε υιος ηλα εν σαμαρεια επι ισραηλ εννεα ετηִּשְׁנַת֙ שְׁתֵּ֣ים עֶשְׂרֵ֔ה לְאָחָ֖ז מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה מָ֠לַךְ הוֹשֵׁ֨עַ בֶּן־אֵלָ֧ה בְשֹׁמְר֛וֹן עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל תֵּ֥שַׁע שָׁנִֽים׃ In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years. |

| 2 | και εποιησεν το πονηρον εν οφθαλμοις κυριου πλην ουχ ως οι βασιλεις ισραηλ οι ησαν εμπροσθεν αυτου ַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה רַ֗ק לֹ֚א כְּמַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָי֖וּ לְפָנָֽיו׃ And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him. |
| 3 | επ αυτον ανεβη σαλαμανασαρ βασιλευς ασσυριων και εγενηθη αυτω ωσηε δουλος και επεστρεψεν αυτω μαναα ָלָ֣יו עָלָ֔ה שַׁלְמַנְאֶ֖סֶר מֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֑וּר וַֽיְהִי־ל֤וֹ הוֹשֵׁ֙עַ֙ עֶ֔בֶד וַיָּ֥שֶׁב ל֖וֹ מִנְחָֽה׃ Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents. |
| 4 | και ευρεν βασιλευς ασσυριων εν τω ωσηε αδικιαν οτι απεστειλεν αγγελους προς σηγωρ βασιλεα αιγυπτου και ουκ ηνεγκεν μαναα τω βασιλει ασσυριων εν τω ενιαυτω εκεινω και επολιορκησεν αυτον ο βασιλευς ασσυριων και εδησεν αυτον εν οικω φυλακης ַיִּמְצָא֩ מֶֽלֶךְ־אַשּׁ֨וּר בְּהוֹשֵׁ֜עַ קֶ֗שֶׁר אֲשֶׁ֨ר שָׁלַ֤ח מַלְאָכִים֙ אֶל־ס֣וֹא מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרַ֔יִם וְלֹא־הֶעֱלָ֥ה מִנְחָ֛ה לְמֶ֥לֶךְ אַשּׁ֖וּר כְּשָׁנָ֣ה בְשָׁנָ֑ה וַֽיַּעַצְרֵ֙הוּ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֔וּר וַיַּאַסְרֵ֖הוּ בֵּ֥ית כֶּֽלֶא׃ And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison. |
| 5 | και ανεβη ο βασιλευς ασσυριων εν παση τη γη και ανεβη εις σαμαρειαν και επολιορκησεν επ αυτην τρια ετη ַיַּ֥עַל מֶֽלֶךְ־אַשּׁ֖וּר בְּכָל־הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיַּ֙עַל֙ שֹׁמְר֔וֹן וַיָּ֥צַר עָלֶ֖יהָ שָׁלֹ֥שׁ שָׁנִֽים׃ Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years. |
| 6 | εν ετει ενατω ωσηε συνελαβεν βασιλευς ασσυριων την σαμαρειαν και απωκισεν τον ισραηλ εις ασσυριους και κατωκισεν αυτους εν αλαε και εν αβωρ ποταμοις γωζαν και ορη μηδων ִּשְׁנַ֨ת הַתְּשִׁיעִ֜ית לְהוֹשֵׁ֗עַ לָכַ֤ד מֶֽלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּר֙ אֶת־שֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן וַיֶּ֥גֶל אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אַשּׁ֑וּרָה וַיֹּ֨שֶׁב אֹתָ֜ם בַּחְלַ֧ח וּבְחָב֛וֹר נְהַ֥ר גּוֹזָ֖ן וְעָרֵ֥י מָדָֽי׃ פ In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes. |
| 7 | Israel Exiled Because of Sinκαι εγενετο οτι ημαρτον οι υιοι ισραηλ τω κυριω θεω αυτων τω αναγαγοντι αυτους εκ γης αιγυπτου υποκατωθεν χειρος φαραω βασιλεως αιγυπτου και εφοβηθησαν θεους ετερουςַיְהִ֗י כִּֽי־חָטְא֤וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם הַמַּעֲלֶ֤ה אֹתָם֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִתַּ֕חַת יַ֖ד פַּרְעֹ֣ה מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרָ֑יִם וַיִּֽירְא֖וּ אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִֽים׃ For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods, |
| 8 | και επορευθησαν τοις δικαιωμασιν των εθνων ων εξηρεν κυριος απο προσωπου υιων ισραηλ και οι βασιλεις ισραηλ οσοι εποιησαν ַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ בְּחֻקּ֣וֹת הַגּוֹיִ֔ם אֲשֶׁר֙ הוֹרִ֣ישׁ יְהוָ֔ה מִפְּנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשֽׂוּ׃ And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made. |
| 9 | και οσοι ημφιεσαντο οι υιοι ισραηλ λογους ουχ ουτως κατα κυριου θεου αυτων και ωκοδομησαν εαυτοις υψηλα εν πασαις ταις πολεσιν αυτων απο πυργου φυλασσοντων εως πολεως οχυρας ַיְחַפְּא֣וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל דְּבָרִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־כֵ֔ן עַל־יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם וַיִּבְנ֨וּ לָהֶ֤ם בָּמוֹת֙ בְּכָל־עָ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם מִמִּגְדַּ֥ל נוֹצְרִ֖ים עַד־עִ֥יר מִבְצָֽר׃ And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city. |
| 10 | και εστηλωσαν εαυτοις στηλας και αλση επι παντι βουνω υψηλω και υποκατω παντος ξυλου αλσωδους ַיַּצִּ֧בוּ לָהֶ֛ם מַצֵּב֖וֹת וַאֲשֵׁרִ֑ים עַ֚ל כָּל־גִּבְעָ֣ה גְבֹהָ֔ה וְתַ֖חַת כָּל־עֵ֥ץ רַעֲנָֽן׃ And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree: |
| 11 | και εθυμιασαν εκει εν πασιν υψηλοις καθως τα εθνη α απωκισεν κυριος εκ προσωπου αυτων και εποιησαν κοινωνους και εχαραξαν του παροργισαι τον κυριον ַיְקַטְּרוּ־שָׁם֙ בְּכָל־בָּמ֔וֹת כַּגּוֹיִ֕ם אֲשֶׁר־הֶגְלָ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם וַֽיַּעֲשׂוּ֙ דְּבָרִ֣ים רָעִ֔ים לְהַכְעִ֖יס אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃ And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger: |
| 12 | και ελατρευσαν τοις ειδωλοις οις ειπεν κυριος αυτοις ου ποιησετε το ρημα τουτο κυριω ַיַּֽעַבְד֖וּ הַגִּלֻּלִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ לָהֶ֔ם לֹ֥א תַעֲשׂ֖וּ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃ For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, All of you shall not do this thing. |
| 13 | και διεμαρτυρατο κυριος εν τω ισραηλ και εν τω ιουδα εν χειρι παντων των προφητων αυτου παντος ορωντος λεγων αποστραφητε απο των οδων υμων των πονηρων και φυλαξατε τας εντολας μου και τα δικαιωματα μου και παντα τον νομον ον ενετειλαμην τοις πατρασιν υμων οσα απεστειλα αυτοις εν χειρι των δουλων μου των προφητων ַיָּ֣עַד יְהוָ֡ה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל וּבִיהוּדָ֡ה בְּיַד֩ כָּל־*נביאו **נְבִיאֵ֨י כָל־חֹזֶ֜ה לֵאמֹ֗ר שֻׁ֜֠בוּ מִדַּרְכֵיכֶ֤ם הָֽרָעִים֙ וְשִׁמְרוּ֙ מִצְוֺתַ֣י חֻקּוֹתַ֔י כְּכָ֨ל־הַתּוֹרָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּ֖יתִי אֶת־אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם וֽ͏ַאֲשֶׁר֙ שָׁלַ֣חְתִּי אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם בְּיַ֖ד עֲבָדַ֥י הַנְּבִיאִֽים׃ Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn all of you from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets. |
| 14 | και ουκ ηκουσαν και εσκληρυναν τον νωτον αυτων υπερ τον νωτον των πατερων αυτων ְלֹ֖א שָׁמֵ֑עוּ וַיַּקְשׁ֤וּ אֶת־עָרְפָּם֙ כְּעֹ֣רֶף אֲבוֹתָ֔ם אֲשֶׁר֙ לֹ֣א הֶאֱמִ֔ינוּ בַּֽיהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God. |
| 15 | και τα μαρτυρια αυτου οσα διεμαρτυρατο αυτοις ουκ εφυλαξαν και επορευθησαν οπισω των ματαιων και εματαιωθησαν και οπισω των εθνων των περικυκλω αυτων ων ενετειλατο αυτοις του μη ποιησαι κατα ταυτα ַיִּמְאֲס֣וּ אֶת־חֻקָּ֗יו וְאֶת־בְּרִיתוֹ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר כָּרַ֣ת אֶת־אֲבוֹתָ֔ם וְאֵת֙ עֵֽדְוֺתָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֵעִ֖יד בָּ֑ם וַיֵּ֨לְכ֜וּ אַחֲרֵ֤י הַהֶ֙בֶל֙ וַיֶּהְבָּ֔לוּ וְאַחֲרֵ֤י הַגּוֹיִם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר סְבִֽיבֹתָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ אֹתָ֔ם לְבִלְתִּ֖י עֲשׂ֥וֹת כָּהֶֽם׃ And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them. |
| 16 | εγκατελιπον τας εντολας κυριου θεου αυτων και εποιησαν εαυτοις χωνευμα δυο δαμαλεις και εποιησαν αλση και προσεκυνησαν παση τη δυναμει του ουρανου και ελατρευσαν τω βααλ ַיַּעַזְב֗וּ אֶת־כָּל־מִצְוֺת֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם וַיַּעֲשׂ֥וּ לָהֶ֛ם מַסֵּכָ֖ה *שנים **שְׁנֵ֣י עֲגָלִ֑ים וַיַּעֲשׂ֣וּ אֲשֵׁירָ֗ה וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲווּ֙ לְכָל־צְבָ֣א הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַיַּעַבְד֖וּ אֶת־הַבָּֽעַל׃ And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. |
| 17 | και διηγον τους υιους αυτων και τας θυγατερας αυτων εν πυρι και εμαντευοντο μαντειας και οιωνιζοντο και επραθησαν του ποιησαι το πονηρον εν οφθαλμοις κυριου παροργισαι αυτον ַֽ֠יַּעֲבִירוּ אֶת־בְּנֵיהֶ֤ם וְאֶת־בְּנֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙ בָּאֵ֔שׁ וַיִּקְסְמ֥וּ קְסָמִ֖ים וַיְנַחֵ֑שׁוּ וַיִּֽתְמַכְּר֗וּ לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת הָרַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה לְהַכְעִיסֽוֹ׃ And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. |
| 18 | και εθυμωθη κυριος σφοδρα εν τω ισραηλ και απεστησεν αυτους απο του προσωπου αυτου και ουχ υπελειφθη πλην φυλη ιουδα μονωτατη ַיִּתְאַנַּ֨ף יְהוָ֤ה מְאֹד֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיְסִרֵ֖ם מֵעַ֣ל פָּנָ֑יו לֹ֣א נִשְׁאַ֔ר רַ֛ק שֵׁ֥בֶט יְהוּדָ֖ה לְבַדּֽוֹ׃ Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only. |
| 19 | και γε ιουδας ουκ εφυλαξεν τας εντολας κυριου του θεου αυτων και επορευθησαν εν τοις δικαιωμασιν ισραηλ οις εποιησαν ַּם־יְהוּדָ֕ה לֹ֣א שָׁמַ֔ר אֶת־מִצְוֺ֖ת יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם וַיֵּ֣לְכ֔וּ בְּחֻקּ֥וֹת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשֽׂוּ׃ Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made. |
| 20 | και απεωσαντο τον κυριον εν παντι σπερματι ισραηλ και εσαλευσεν αυτους και εδωκεν αυτους εν χειρι διαρπαζοντων αυτους εως ου απερριψεν αυτους απο προσωπου αυτου ַיִּמְאַ֨ס יְהוָ֜ה בְּכָל־זֶ֤רַע יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וַיְעַנֵּ֔ם וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖ם בְּיַד־שֹׁסִ֑ים עַ֛ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִשְׁלִיכָ֖ם מִפָּנָֽיו׃ And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight. |
| 21 | οτι πλην ισραηλ επανωθεν οικου δαυιδ και εβασιλευσαν τον ιεροβοαμ υιον ναβατ και εξεωσεν ιεροβοαμ τον ισραηλ εξοπισθεν κυριου και εξημαρτεν αυτους αμαρτιαν μεγαλην ִּֽי־קָרַ֣ע יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל מֵעַל֙ בֵּ֣ית דָּוִ֔ד וַיַּמְלִ֖יכוּ אֶת־יָרָבְעָ֣ם בֶּן־נְבָ֑ט *וידא **וַיַּדַּ֨ח יָרָבְעָ֤ם אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מֵאַחֲרֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וְהֶחֱטֵיאָ֖ם חֲטָאָ֥ה גְדוֹלָֽה׃ For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drove Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin. |
| 22 | και επορευθησαν οι υιοι ισραηλ εν παση αμαρτια ιεροβοαμ η εποιησεν ουκ απεστησαν απ αυτης ַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּכָל־חַטֹּ֥אות יָרָבְעָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה לֹא־סָ֖רוּ מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them; |
| 23 | εως ου μετεστησεν κυριος τον ισραηλ απο προσωπου αυτου καθως ελαλησεν κυριος εν χειρι παντων των δουλων αυτου των προφητων και απωκισθη ισραηλ επανωθεν της γης αυτου εις ασσυριους εως της ημερας ταυτης ַ֠ד אֲשֶׁר־הֵסִ֨יר יְהוָ֤ה אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מֵעַ֣ל פָּנָ֔יו כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֔ר בְּיַ֖ד כָּל־עֲבָדָ֣יו הַנְּבִיאִ֑ים וַיִּ֨גֶל יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל מֵעַ֤ל אַדְמָתוֹ֙ אַשּׁ֔וּרָה עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ פ Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day. |
| 24 | Samaria Resettledκαι ηγαγεν βασιλευς ασσυριων εκ βαβυλωνος τον εκ χουνθα και απο αια και απο αιμαθ και σεπφαρουαιν και κατωκισθησαν εν πολεσιν σαμαρειας αντι των υιων ισραηλ και εκληρονομησαν την σαμαρειαν και κατωκησαν εν ταις πολεσιν αυτηςַיָּבֵ֣א מֶֽלֶךְ־אַשּׁ֡וּר מִבָּבֶ֡ל וּ֠מִכּוּ֠תָה וּמֵעַוָּ֤א וּמֵֽחֲמָת֙ וּסְפַרְוַ֔יִם וַיֹּ֙שֶׁב֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן תַּ֖חַת בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּֽרְשׁוּ֙ אֶת־שֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן וַיֵּֽשְׁב֖וּ בְּעָרֶֽיהָ׃ And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof. |
| 25 | και εγενετο εν αρχη της καθεδρας αυτων ουκ εφοβηθησαν τον κυριον και απεστειλεν κυριος εν αυτοις τους λεοντας και ησαν αποκτεννοντες εν αυτοις ַיְהִ֗י בִּתְחִלַּת֙ שִׁבְתָּ֣ם שָׁ֔ם לֹ֥א יָרְא֖וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֑ה וַיְשַׁלַּ֨ח יְהוָ֤ה בָּהֶם֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֲרָי֔וֹת וַיִּֽהְי֥וּ הֹרְגִ֖ים בָּהֶֽם׃ And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them. |
| 26 | και ειπον τω βασιλει ασσυριων λεγοντες τα εθνη α απωκισας και αντεκαθισας εν πολεσιν σαμαρειας ουκ εγνωσαν το κριμα του θεου της γης και απεστειλεν εις αυτους τους λεοντας και ιδου εισιν θανατουντες αυτους καθοτι ουκ οιδασιν το κριμα του θεου της γης ַיֹּאמְר֗וּ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁוּר֮ לֵאמֹר֒ הַגּוֹיִ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִגְלִ֙יתָ֙ וַתּ֙וֹשֶׁב֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י שֹׁמְר֔וֹן לֹ֣א יָֽדְע֔וּ אֶת־מִשְׁפַּ֖ט אֱלֹהֵ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיְשַׁלַּח־בָּ֣ם אֶת־הָאֲרָי֗וֹת וְהִנָּם֙ מְמִיתִ֣ים אוֹתָ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁר֙ אֵינָ֣ם יֹדְעִ֔ים אֶת־מִשְׁפַּ֖ט אֱלֹהֵ֥י הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Wherefore they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which you have removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he has sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land. |
| 27 | και ενετειλατο ο βασιλευς ασσυριων λεγων απαγετε εκειθεν και πορευεσθωσαν και κατοικειτωσαν εκει και φωτιουσιν αυτους το κριμα του θεου της γης ַיְצַ֨ו מֶֽלֶךְ־אַשּׁ֜וּר לֵאמֹ֗ר הֹלִ֤יכוּ שָׁ֙מָּה֙ אֶחָ֤ד מֵהַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִגְלִיתֶ֣ם מִשָּׁ֔ם וְיֵלְכ֖וּ וְיֵ֣שְׁבוּ שָׁ֑ם וְיֹרֵ֕ם אֶת־מִשְׁפַּ֖ט אֱלֹהֵ֥י הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom all of you brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land. |
| 28 | και ηγαγον ενα των ιερεων ων απωκισαν απο σαμαρειας και εκαθισεν εν βαιθηλ και ην φωτιζων αυτους πως φοβηθωσιν τον κυριον ַיָּבֹ֞א אֶחָ֣ד מֵהַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִגְלוּ֙ מִשֹּׁ֣מְר֔וֹן וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב בְּבֵֽית־אֵ֑ל וַֽיְהִי֙ מוֹרֶ֣ה אֹתָ֔ם אֵ֖יךְ יִֽירְא֥וּ אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃ Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD. |
| 29 | και ησαν ποιουντες εθνη εθνη θεους αυτων και εθηκαν εν οικω των υψηλων ων εποιησαν οι σαμαριται εθνη εν ταις πολεσιν αυτων εν αις κατωκουν εν αυταις ַיִּהְי֣וּ עֹשִׂ֔ים גּ֥וֹי גּ֖וֹי אֱלֹהָ֑יו וַיַּנִּ֣יחוּ ׀ בְּבֵ֣ית הַבָּמ֗וֹת אֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשׂוּ֙ הַשֹּׁ֣מְרֹנִ֔ים גּ֥וֹי גּוֹי֙ בְּעָ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֛ר הֵ֥ם יֹשְׁבִ֖ים שָֽׁם׃ Nevertheless every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt. |
| 30 | και οι ανδρες βαβυλωνος εποιησαν την σοκχωθβαινιθ και οι ανδρες χουθ εποιησαν την νηριγελ και οι ανδρες αιμαθ εποιησαν την ασιμαθ ְאַנְשֵׁ֣י בָבֶ֗ל עָשׂוּ֙ אֶת־סֻכּ֣וֹת בְּנ֔וֹת וְאַנְשֵׁי־כ֔וּת עָשׂ֖וּ אֶת־נֵֽרְגַ֑ל וְאַנְשֵׁ֥י חֲמָ֖ת עָשׂ֥וּ אֶת־אֲשִׁימָֽא׃ And the men of Babylon made Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima, |
| 31 | και οι ευαιοι εποιησαν την εβλαζερ και την θαρθακ και οι σεπφαρουαιν κατεκαιον τους υιους αυτων εν πυρι τω αδραμελεχ και ανημελεχ θεοις σεπφαρουαιν ְהָעַוִּ֛ים עָשׂ֥וּ נִבְחַ֖ז וְאֶת־תַּרְתָּ֑ק וְהַסְפַרְוִ֗ים שֹׂרְפִ֤ים אֶת־בְּנֵיהֶם֙ בָּאֵ֔שׁ לְאַדְרַמֶּ֥לֶךְ וַֽעֲנַמֶּ֖לֶךְ *אלה **אֱלֹהֵ֥י *ספרים **סְפַרְוָֽיִם׃ And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim. |
| 32 | και ησαν φοβουμενοι τον κυριον και κατωκισαν τα βδελυγματα αυτων εν τοις οικοις των υψηλων α εποιησαν εν σαμαρεια εθνος εθνος εν πολει εν η κατωκουν εν αυτη και ησαν φοβουμενοι τον κυριον και εποιησαν εαυτοις ιερεις των υψηλων και εποιησαν εαυτοις εν οικω των υψηλων ַיִּהְי֥וּ יְרֵאִ֖ים אֶת־יְהוָ֑ה וַיַּעֲשׂ֨וּ לָהֶ֤ם מִקְצוֹתָם֙ כֹּהֲנֵ֣י בָמ֔וֹת וַיִּהְי֛וּ עֹשִׂ֥ים לָהֶ֖ם בְּבֵ֥ית הַבָּמֽוֹת׃ So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the low of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places. |
| 33 | τον κυριον εφοβουντο και τοις θεοις αυτων ελατρευον κατα το κριμα των εθνων οθεν απωκισεν αυτους εκειθεν ֶת־יְהוָ֖ה הָי֣וּ יְרֵאִ֑ים וְאֶת־אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶם֙ הָי֣וּ עֹֽבְדִ֔ים כְּמִשְׁפַּט֙ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־הִגְל֥וּ אֹתָ֖ם מִשָּֽׁם׃ They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence. |
| 34 | εως της ημερας ταυτης αυτοι εποιουν κατα το κριμα αυτων αυτοι φοβουνται και αυτοι ποιουσιν κατα τα δικαιωματα αυτων και κατα την κρισιν αυτων και κατα τον νομον και κατα την εντολην ην ενετειλατο κυριος τοις υιοις ιακωβ ου εθηκεν το ονομα αυτου ισραηλ ַ֣ד הַיּ֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ הֵ֣ם עֹשִׂ֔ים כַּמִּשְׁפָּטִ֖ים הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֑ים אֵינָ֤ם יְרֵאִים֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה וְאֵינָ֣ם עֹשִׂ֗ים כְּחֻקֹּתָם֙ וּכְמִשְׁפָּטָ֔ם וְכַתּוֹרָ֣ה וְכַמִּצְוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יַעֲקֹ֔ב אֲשֶׁר־שָׂ֥ם שְׁמ֖וֹ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel; |
| 35 | και διεθετο κυριος μετ αυτων διαθηκην και ενετειλατο αυτοις λεγων ου φοβηθησεσθε θεους ετερους και ου προσκυνησετε αυτοις και ου λατρευσετε αυτοις και ου θυσιασετε αυτοις ַיִּכְרֹ֨ת יְהוָ֤ה אִתָּם֙ בְּרִ֔ית וַיְצַוֵּ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֥א תִֽירְא֖וּ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֑ים וְלֹא־תִשְׁתַּחֲו֣וּ לָהֶ֔ם וְלֹ֣א תַעַבְד֔וּם וְלֹ֥א תִזְבְּח֖וּ לָהֶֽם׃ With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, All of you shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them: |
| 36 | οτι αλλ η τω κυριω ος ανηγαγεν υμας εκ γης αιγυπτου εν ισχυι μεγαλη και εν βραχιονι υψηλω αυτον φοβηθησεσθε και αυτω προσκυνησετε και αυτω θυσετε ִּ֣י אִֽם־אֶת־יְהוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁר֩ הֶעֱלָ֨ה אֶתְכֶ֜ם מֵאֶ֧רֶץ מִצְרַ֛יִם בְּכֹ֧חַ גָּד֛וֹל וּבִזְר֥וֹעַ נְטוּיָ֖ה אֹת֣וֹ תִירָ֑אוּ וְל֥וֹ תִֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ וְל֥וֹ תִזְבָּֽחוּ׃ But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall all of you fear, and him shall all of you worship, and to him shall all of you do sacrifice. |
| 37 | και τα δικαιωματα και τα κριματα και τον νομον και τας εντολας ας εγραψεν υμιν φυλασσεσθε ποιειν πασας τας ημερας και ου φοβηθησεσθε θεους ετερους ְאֶת־הַחֻקִּ֨ים וְאֶת־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֜ים וְהַתּוֹרָ֤ה וְהַמִּצְוָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר כָּתַ֣ב לָכֶ֔ם תִּשְׁמְר֥וּן לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת כָּל־הַיָּמִ֑ים וְלֹ֥א תִֽירְא֖וּ אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִֽים׃ And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, all of you shall observe to do for evermore; and all of you shall not fear other gods. |
| 38 | και την διαθηκην ην διεθετο μεθ υμων ουκ επιλησεσθε και ου φοβηθησεσθε θεους ετερους ְהַבְּרִ֛ית אֲשֶׁר־כָּרַ֥תִּי אִתְּכֶ֖ם לֹ֣א תִשְׁכָּ֑חוּ וְלֹ֥א תִֽירְא֖וּ אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִֽים׃ And the covenant that I have made with you all of you shall not forget; neither shall all of you fear other gods. |
| 39 | οτι αλλ η τον κυριον θεον υμων φοβηθησεσθε και αυτος εξελειται υμας εκ παντων των εχθρων υμων ִּ֛י אִֽם־אֶת־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם תִּירָ֑אוּ וְהוּא֙ יַצִּ֣יל אֶתְכֶ֔ם מִיַּ֖ד כָּל־אֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃ But the LORD your God all of you shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. |
| 40 | και ουκ ακουσεσθε επι τω κριματι αυτων ο αυτοι ποιουσιν ְלֹ֖א שָׁמֵ֑עוּ כִּ֛י אִֽם־כְּמִשְׁפָּטָ֥ם הָֽרִאשׁ֖וֹן הֵ֥ם עֹשִֽׂים׃ Nevertheless they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner. |
| 41 | και ησαν τα εθνη ταυτα φοβουμενοι τον κυριον και τοις γλυπτοις αυτων ησαν δουλευοντες και γε οι υιοι και οι υιοι των υιων αυτων καθα εποιησαν οι πατερες αυτων ποιουσιν εως της ημερας ταυτης ַיִּהְי֣וּ ׀ הַגּוֹיִ֣ם הָאֵ֗לֶּה יְרֵאִים֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה וְאֶת־פְּסִֽילֵיהֶ֖ם הָי֣וּ עֹֽבְדִ֑ים גַּם־בְּנֵיהֶ֣ם ׀ וּבְנֵ֣י בְנֵיהֶ֗ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשׂ֤וּ אֲבֹתָם֙ הֵ֣ם עֹשִׂ֔ים עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ פ So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day. |
