| 1 | David’s Song of Praiseκαι ελαλησεν δαυιδ τω κυριω τους λογους της ωδης ταυτης εν η ημερα εξειλατο αυτον κυριος εκ χειρος παντων των εχθρων αυτου και εκ χειρος σαουλַיְדַבֵּ֤ר דָּוִד֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֖י הַשִּׁירָ֣ה הַזֹּ֑את בְּיוֹם֩ הִצִּ֨יל יְהוָ֥ה אֹת֛וֹ מִכַּ֥ף כָּל־אֹיְבָ֖יו וּמִכַּ֥ף שָׁאֽוּל׃ And David spoke unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: |

| 2 | και ειπεν κυριε πετρα μου και οχυρωμα μου και εξαιρουμενος με εμοι ַיֹּאמַ֑ר יְהוָ֛ה סַֽלְעִ֥י וּמְצֻדָתִ֖י וּמְפַלְטִי־לִֽי׃ And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; |
| 3 | ο θεος μου φυλαξ εσται μου πεποιθως εσομαι επ αυτω υπερασπιστης μου και κερας σωτηριας μου αντιλημπτωρ μου και καταφυγη μου σωτηριας μου εξ αδικου σωσεις με ֱלֹהֵ֥י צוּרִ֖י אֶחֱסֶה־בּ֑וֹ מָגִנִּ֞י וְקֶ֣רֶן יִשְׁעִ֗י מִשְׂגַּבִּי֙ וּמְנוּסִ֔י מֹשִׁעִ֕י מֵחָמָ֖ס תֹּשִׁעֵֽנִי׃ The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; you save me from violence. |
| 4 | αινετον επικαλεσομαι κυριον και εκ των εχθρων μου σωθησομαι ְהֻלָּ֖ל אֶקְרָ֣א יְהוָ֑ה וּמֵאֹיְבַ֖י אִוָּשֵֽׁעַ׃ I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. |
| 5 | οτι περιεσχον με συντριμμοι θανατου χειμαρροι ανομιας εθαμβησαν με ִּ֥י אֲפָפֻ֖נִי מִשְׁבְּרֵי־מָ֑וֶת נַחֲלֵ֥י בְלִיַּ֖עַל יְבַעֲתֻֽנִי׃ When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; |
| 6 | ωδινες θανατου εκυκλωσαν με προεφθασαν με σκληροτητες θανατου ֶבְלֵ֥י שְׁא֖וֹל סַבֻּ֑נִי קִדְּמֻ֖נִי מֹֽקְשֵׁי־מָֽוֶת׃ The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me; |
| 7 | εν τω θλιβεσθαι με επικαλεσομαι κυριον και προς τον θεον μου βοησομαι και επακουσεται εκ ναου αυτου φωνης μου και η κραυγη μου εν τοις ωσιν αυτου ַּצַּר־לִי֙ אֶקְרָ֣א יְהוָ֔ה וְאֶל־אֱלֹהַ֖י אֶקְרָ֑א וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע מֵהֵֽיכָלוֹ֙ קוֹלִ֔י וְשַׁוְעָתִ֖י בְּאָזְנָֽיו׃ In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. |
| 8 | και εταραχθη και εσεισθη η γη και τα θεμελια του ουρανου συνεταραχθησαν και εσπαραχθησαν οτι εθυμωθη κυριος αυτοις ?תגעש **וַיִּתְגָּעַ֤שׁ וַתִּרְעַשׁ֙ הָאָ֔רֶץ מוֹסְד֥וֹת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם יִרְגָּ֑זוּ וַיִּֽתְגָּעֲשׁ֖וּ כִּֽי־חָ֥רָה לֽוֹ׃ Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was angry. |
| 9 | ανεβη καπνος εν τη οργη αυτου και πυρ εκ στοματος αυτου κατεδεται ανθρακες εξεκαυθησαν απ αυτου ָלָ֤ה עָשָׁן֙ בְּאַפּ֔וֹ וְאֵ֥שׁ מִפִּ֖יו תֹּאכֵ֑ל גֶּחָלִ֖ים בָּעֲר֥וּ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. |
| 10 | και εκλινεν ουρανους και κατεβη και γνοφος υποκατω των ποδων αυτου ַיֵּ֥ט שָׁמַ֖יִם וַיֵּרַ֑ד וַעֲרָפֶ֖ל תַּ֥חַת רַגְלָֽיו׃ He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet. |
| 11 | και επεκαθισεν επι χερουβιν και επετασθη και ωφθη επι πτερυγων ανεμου ַיִּרְכַּ֥ב עַל־כְּר֖וּב וַיָּעֹ֑ף וַיֵּרָ֖א עַל־כַּנְפֵי־רֽוּחַ׃ And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind. |
| 12 | και εθετο σκοτος αποκρυφην αυτου κυκλω αυτου η σκηνη αυτου σκοτος υδατων επαχυνεν εν νεφελαις αερος ַיָּ֥שֶׁת חֹ֛שֶׁךְ סְבִיבֹתָ֖יו סֻכּ֑וֹת חַֽשְׁרַת־מַ֖יִם עָבֵ֥י שְׁחָקִֽים׃ And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies. |
| 13 | απο του φεγγους εναντιον αυτου εξεκαυθησαν ανθρακες πυρος ִנֹּ֖גַהּ נֶגְדּ֑וֹ בָּעֲר֖וּ גַּחֲלֵי־אֵֽשׁ׃ Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled. |
| 14 | εβροντησεν εξ ουρανου κυριος και ο υψιστος εδωκεν φωνην αυτου ַרְעֵ֥ם מִן־שָׁמַ֖יִם יְהוָ֑ה וְעֶלְי֖וֹן יִתֵּ֥ן קוֹלֽוֹ׃ The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice. |
| 15 | και απεστειλεν βελη και εσκορπισεν αυτους αστραπην και εξεστησεν αυτους ַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח חִצִּ֖ים וַיְפִיצֵ֑ם בָּרָ֖ק *ויהמם **וַיָּהֹֽם׃ And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and humiliated them. |
| 16 | και ωφθησαν αφεσεις θαλασσης και απεκαλυφθη θεμελια της οικουμενης εν τη επιτιμησει κυριου απο πνοης πνευματος θυμου αυτου ַיֵּֽרָאוּ֙ אֲפִ֣קֵי יָ֔ם יִגָּל֖וּ מֹסְד֣וֹת תֵּבֵ֑ל בְּגַעֲרַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה מִנִּשְׁמַ֖ת ר֥וּחַ אַפּֽוֹ׃ And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils. |
| 17 | απεστειλεν εξ υψους και ελαβεν με ειλκυσεν με εξ υδατων πολλων ִשְׁלַ֥ח מִמָּר֖וֹם יִקָּחֵ֑נִי יַֽמְשֵׁ֖נִי מִמַּ֥יִם רַבִּֽים׃ He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; |
| 18 | ερρυσατο με εξ εχθρων μου ισχυος εκ των μισουντων με οτι εκραταιωθησαν υπερ εμε ַצִּילֵ֕נִי מֵאֹיְבִ֖י עָ֑ז מִשֹּׂ֣נְאַ֔י כִּ֥י אָמְצ֖וּ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me. |
| 19 | προεφθασαν με εν ημερα θλιψεως μου και εγενετο κυριος επιστηριγμα μου ְקַדְּמֻ֖נִי בְּי֣וֹם אֵידִ֑י וַיְהִ֧י יְהוָ֛ה מִשְׁעָ֖ן לִֽי׃ They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. |
| 20 | και εξηγαγεν με εις πλατυσμον και εξειλατο με οτι ευδοκησεν εν εμοι ַיֹּצֵ֥א לַמֶּרְחָ֖ב אֹתִ֑י יְחַלְּצֵ֖נִי כִּי־חָ֥פֵֽץ בִּֽי׃ He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me. |
| 21 | και ανταπεδωκεν μοι κυριος κατα την δικαιοσυνην μου κατα την καθαριοτητα των χειρων μου ανταπεδωκεν μοι ִגְמְלֵ֥נִי יְהוָ֖ה כְּצִדְקָתִ֑י כְּבֹ֥ר יָדַ֖י יָשִׁ֥יב לִֽי׃ The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands has he recompensed me. |
| 22 | οτι εφυλαξα οδους κυριου και ουκ ησεβησα απο του θεου μου ִּ֥י שָׁמַ֖רְתִּי דַּרְכֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹ֥א רָשַׁ֖עְתִּי מֵאֱלֹהָֽי׃ For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. |
| 23 | οτι παντα τα κριματα αυτου κατεναντιον μου και τα δικαιωματα αυτου ουκ απεστην απ αυτων ִּ֥י כָל־*משפטו **מִשְׁפָּטָ֖יו לְנֶגְדִּ֑י וְחֻקֹּתָ֖יו לֹא־אָס֥וּר מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them. |
| 24 | και εσομαι αμωμος αυτω και προφυλαξομαι απο της ανομιας μου ָאֶהְיֶ֥ה תָמִ֖ים ל֑וֹ וָאֶשְׁתַּמְּרָ֖ה מֵעֲוֺנִֽי׃ I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity. |
| 25 | και αποδωσει μοι κυριος κατα την δικαιοσυνην μου και κατα την καθαριοτητα των χειρων μου ενωπιον των οφθαλμων αυτου ַיָּ֧שֶׁב יְהוָ֛ה לִ֖י כְּצִדְקָתִ֑י כְּבֹרִ֖י לְנֶ֥גֶד עֵינָֽיו׃ Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight. |
| 26 | μετα οσιου οσιωθηση και μετα ανδρος τελειου τελειωθηση ִם־חָסִ֖יד תִּתְחַסָּ֑ד עִם־גִּבּ֥וֹר תָּמִ֖ים תִּתַּמָּֽם׃ With the merciful you will show yourself merciful, and with the upright man you will show yourself upright. |
| 27 | και μετα εκλεκτου εκλεκτος εση και μετα στρεβλου στρεβλωθηση ִם־נָבָ֖ר תִּתָּבָ֑ר וְעִם־עִקֵּ֖שׁ תִּתַּפָּֽל׃ With the pure you will show yourself pure; and with the perverse you will show yourself unpleasing. |
| 28 | και τον λαον τον πτωχον σωσεις και οφθαλμους επι μετεωρων ταπεινωσεις ְאֶת־עַ֥ם עָנִ֖י תּוֹשִׁ֑יעַ וְעֵינֶ֖יךָ עַל־רָמִ֥ים תַּשְׁפִּֽיל׃ And the afflicted people you will save: but yours eyes are upon the haughty, that you may bring them down. |
| 29 | οτι συ ο λυχνος μου κυριε και κυριος εκλαμψει μοι το σκοτος μου ִּֽי־אַתָּ֥ה נֵירִ֖י יְהוָ֑ה וַיהוָ֖ה יַגִּ֥יהַּ חָשְׁכִּֽי׃ For you are my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. |
| 30 | οτι εν σοι δραμουμαι μονοζωνος και εν τω θεω μου υπερβησομαι τειχος ִּ֥י בְכָ֖ה אָר֣וּץ גְּד֑וּד בֵּאלֹהַ֖י אֲדַלֶּג־שֽׁוּר׃ For by you I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. |
| 31 | ο ισχυρος αμωμος η οδος αυτου το ρημα κυριου κραταιον πεπυρωμενον υπερασπιστης εστιν πασιν τοις πεποιθοσιν επ αυτω ָאֵ֖ל תָּמִ֣ים דַּרְכּ֑וֹ אִמְרַ֤ת יְהוָה֙ צְרוּפָ֔ה מָגֵ֣ן ה֔וּא לְכֹ֖ל הַחֹסִ֥ים בּֽוֹ׃ As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. |
| 32 | τις ισχυρος πλην κυριου και τις κτιστης εσται πλην του θεου ημων ִּ֥י מִי־אֵ֖ל מִבַּלְעֲדֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וּמִ֥י צ֖וּר מִֽבַּלְעֲדֵ֥י אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? |
| 33 | ο ισχυρος ο κραταιων με δυναμει και εξετιναξεν αμωμον την οδον μου ָאֵ֥ל מָעוּזִּ֖י חָ֑יִל וַיַּתֵּ֥ר תָּמִ֖ים *דרכו **דַּרְכִּֽי׃ God is my strength and power: and he makes my way perfect. |
| 34 | τιθεις τους ποδας μου ως ελαφων και επι τα υψη ιστων με ְשַׁוֶּ֥ה *רגליו **רַגְלַ֖י כָּאַיָּל֑וֹת וְעַ֥ל בָּמוֹתַ֖י יַעֲמִדֵֽנִי׃ He makes my feet like hinds' feet: and sets me upon my high places. |
| 35 | διδασκων χειρας μου εις πολεμον και καταξας τοξον χαλκουν εν βραχιονι μου ְלַמֵּ֥ד יָדַ֖י לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה וְנִחַ֥ת קֶֽשֶׁת־נְחוּשָׁ֖ה זְרֹעֹתָֽי׃ He teaches my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. |
| 36 | και εδωκας μοι υπερασπισμον σωτηριας μου και η υπακοη σου επληθυνεν με ַתִּתֶּן־לִ֖י מָגֵ֣ן יִשְׁעֶ֑ךָ וַעֲנֹתְךָ֖ תַּרְבֵּֽנִי׃ You have also given me the shield of your salvation: and your gentleness has made me great. |
| 37 | εις πλατυσμον εις τα διαβηματα μου υποκατω μου και ουκ εσαλευθησαν τα σκελη μου ַּרְחִ֥יב צַעֲדִ֖י תַּחְתֵּ֑נִי וְלֹ֥א מָעֲד֖וּ קַרְסֻלָּֽי׃ You have enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip. |
| 38 | διωξω εχθρους μου και αφανιω αυτους και ουκ αναστρεψω εως συντελεσω αυτους ֶרְדְּפָ֥ה אֹיְבַ֖י וָאַשְׁמִידֵ֑ם וְלֹ֥א אָשׁ֖וּב עַד־כַּלּוֹתָֽם׃ I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. |
| 39 | και θλασω αυτους και ουκ αναστησονται και πεσουνται υπο τους ποδας μου ָאֲכַלֵּ֥ם וָאֶמְחָצֵ֖ם וְלֹ֣א יְקוּמ֑וּן וַֽיִּפְּל֖וּ תַּ֥חַת רַגְלָֽי׃ And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet. |
| 40 | και ενισχυσεις με δυναμει εις πολεμον καμψεις τους επανιστανομενους μοι υποκατω μου ַתַּזְרֵ֥נִי חַ֖יִל לַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה תַּכְרִ֥יעַ קָמַ֖י תַּחְתֵּֽנִי׃ For you have girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me have you subdued under me. |
| 41 | και τους εχθρους μου εδωκας μοι νωτον τους μισουντας με και εθανατωσας αυτους ְאֹ֣יְבַ֔י תַּ֥תָּה לִּ֖י עֹ֑רֶף מְשַׂנְאַ֖י וָאַצְמִיתֵֽם׃ You have also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me. |
| 42 | βοησονται και ουκ εστιν βοηθος προς κυριον και ουχ υπηκουσεν αυτων ִשְׁע֖וּ וְאֵ֣ין מֹשִׁ֑יעַ אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א עָנָֽם׃ They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not. |
| 43 | και ελεανα αυτους ως χουν γης ως πηλον εξοδων ελεπτυνα αυτους ְאֶשְׁחָקֵ֖ם כַּעֲפַר־אָ֑רֶץ כְּטִיט־חוּצ֥וֹת אֲדִקֵּ֖ם אֶרְקָעֵֽם׃ Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad. |
| 44 | και ρυση με εκ μαχης λαων φυλαξεις με εις κεφαλην εθνων λαος ον ουκ εγνων εδουλευσαν μοι ַֽתְּפַלְּטֵ֔נִי מֵרִיבֵ֖י עַמִּ֑י תִּשְׁמְרֵ֙נִי֙ לְרֹ֣אשׁ גּוֹיִ֔ם עַ֥ם לֹא־יָדַ֖עְתִּי יַעַבְדֻֽנִי׃ You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people, you have kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me. |
| 45 | υιοι αλλοτριοι εψευσαντο μοι εις ακοην ωτιου ηκουσαν μου ְּנֵ֥י נֵכָ֖ר יִתְכַּֽחֲשׁוּ־לִ֑י לִשְׁמ֥וֹעַ אֹ֖זֶן יִשָּׁ֥מְעוּ לִֽי׃ Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me. |
| 46 | υιοι αλλοτριοι απορριφησονται και σφαλουσιν εκ των συγκλεισμων αυτων ְּנֵ֥י נֵכָ֖ר יִבֹּ֑לוּ וְיַחְגְּר֖וּ מִמִּסְגְּרוֹתָֽם׃ Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places. |
| 47 | ζη κυριος και ευλογητος ο φυλαξ μου και υψωθησεται ο θεος μου ο φυλαξ της σωτηριας μου ַי־יְהוָ֖ה וּבָר֣וּךְ צוּרִ֑י וְיָרֻ֕ם אֱלֹהֵ֖י צ֥וּר יִשְׁעִֽי׃ The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. |
| 48 | ισχυρος κυριος ο διδους εκδικησεις εμοι παιδευων λαους υποκατω μου ָאֵ֕ל הַנֹּתֵ֥ן נְקָמֹ֖ת לִ֑י וּמוֹרִ֥יד עַמִּ֖ים תַּחְתֵּֽנִי׃ It is God that avenges me, and that brings down the people under me. |
| 49 | και εξαγων με εξ εχθρων μου και εκ των επεγειρομενων μοι υψωσεις με εξ ανδρος αδικηματων ρυση με ּמוֹצִיאִ֖י מֵאֹֽיְבָ֑י וּמִקָּמַי֙ תְּר֣וֹמְמֵ֔נִי מֵאִ֥ישׁ חֲמָסִ֖ים תַּצִּילֵֽנִי׃ And that brings me forth from mine enemies: you also have lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: you have delivered me from the violent man. |
| 50 | δια τουτο εξομολογησομαι σοι κυριε εν τοις εθνεσιν και εν τω ονοματι σου ψαλω ַל־כֵּ֛ן אוֹדְךָ֥ יְהוָ֖ה בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם וּלְשִׁמְךָ֖ אֲזַמֵּֽר׃ Therefore I will give thanks unto you, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto your name. |
| 51 | μεγαλυνων σωτηριας βασιλεως αυτου και ποιων ελεος τω χριστω αυτου τω δαυιδ και τω σπερματι αυτου εως αιωνος ?גדיל **מִגְדּ֖וֹל יְשׁוּע֣וֹת מַלְכּ֑וֹ וְעֹֽשֶׂה־חֶ֧סֶד לִמְשִׁיח֛וֹ לְדָוִ֥ד וּלְזַרְע֖וֹ עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ פ He is the tower of salvation for his king: and shows mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore. |
