For the director of music. A psalm of David.
εις το τελος ψαλμος τω δαυιδ εξελου με κυριε εξ ανθρωπου πονηρου απο ανδρος αδικου ρυσαι με
Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
2 οιτινες ελογισαντο αδικιας εν καρδια ολην την ημεραν παρετασσοντο πολεμους
Which imagine evil in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
3 ηκονησαν γλωσσαν αυτων ωσει οφεως ιος ασπιδων υπο τα χειλη αυτων διαψαλμα
They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
4 φυλαξον με κυριε εκ χειρος αμαρτωλου απο ανθρωπων αδικων εξελου με οιτινες ελογισαντο υποσκελισαι τα διαβηματα μου
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my activities.
5 εκρυψαν υπερηφανοι παγιδα μοι και σχοινια διετειναν παγιδας τοις ποσιν μου εχομενα τριβου σκανδαλον εθεντο μοι διαψαλμα
The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
6 ειπα τω κυριω θεος μου ει συ ενωτισαι κυριε την φωνην της δεησεως μου
I said unto the LORD, You are my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
7 κυριε κυριε δυναμις της σωτηριας μου επεσκιασας επι την κεφαλην μου εν ημερα πολεμου
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, you have covered my head in the day of battle.
8 μη παραδως με κυριε απο της επιθυμιας μου αμαρτωλω διελογισαντο κατ εμου μη εγκαταλιπης με μηποτε υψωθωσιν διαψαλμα
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
9 η κεφαλη του κυκλωματος αυτων κοπος των χειλεων αυτων καλυψει αυτους
As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10 πεσουνται επ αυτους ανθρακες εν πυρι καταβαλεις αυτους εν ταλαιπωριαις ου μη υποστωσιν
Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
11 ανηρ γλωσσωδης ου κατευθυνθησεται επι της γης ανδρα αδικον κακα θηρευσει εις διαφθοραν
Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
12 εγνων οτι ποιησει κυριος την κρισιν του πτωχου και την δικην των πενητων
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
13 πλην δικαιοι εξομολογησονται τω ονοματι σου και κατοικησουσιν ευθεις συν τω προσωπω σου
Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto your name: the upright shall dwell in your presence.
