1 | Jesus Heals on the SabbathΚαὶ εἰσῆλθεν πάλιν εἰς {τὴν} συναγωγήν, καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ ἄνθρωπος ἐξηραμμένην ἔχων τὴν χεῖρα·And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. |

2 | καὶ παρετήρουν αὐτὸν εἰ τοῖς σάββασιν θεραπεύσει αὐτόν, ἵνα κατηγορήσωσιν αὐτοῦ. And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. |
3 | καὶ λέγει τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τῷ τὴν «χεῖρα ἔχοντι» ⇔ ξηράν Ἔγειρε εἰς τὸ μέσον. And he says unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. |
4 | καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν ἀγαθο¦ποιῆσαι ἢ κακοποιῆσαι, ψυχὴν σῶσαι ἢ ἀποκτεῖναι; οἱ δὲ ἐσιώπων. And he says unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. |
5 | καὶ περιβλεψάμενος αὐτοὺς μετ´ ὀργῆς, συνλυπούμενος / συλλυπούμενος ἐπὶ τῇ πωρώσει τῆς καρδίας αὐτῶν, λέγει τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ Ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρά (σου)· καὶ ἐξέτεινεν, καὶ ἀπεκατεστάθη ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ. And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he says unto the man, Stretch forth yours hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. |
6 | Crowds Follow JesusΚαὶ ἐξελθόντες οἱ Φαρισαῖοι εὐθὺς μετὰ τῶν Ἡρῳδιανῶν συμβούλιον ἐδίδουν κατ´ αὐτοῦ ὅπως αὐτὸν ἀπολέσωσιν.And the Pharisees went forth, and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him. |
7 | Καὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ἀνεχώρησεν πρὸς τὴν θάλασσαν· καὶ πολὺ πλῆθος ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας ἠκολούθησεν, καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰουδαίας But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea, |
8 | καὶ ἀπὸ Ἰεροσολύμων καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰδουμαίας καὶ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου καὶ περὶ Τύρον καὶ Σιδῶνα, πλῆθος πολύ, ἀκούοντες ὅσα ποιεῖ / ἐποίει ἦλθαν / ἦλθον πρὸς αὐτόν. And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him. |
9 | καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ἵνα πλοιάριον προσκαρτερῇ αὐτῷ διὰ τὸν ὄχλον ἵνα μὴ θλίβωσιν αὐτόν· And he spoke to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should crowd upon him. |
10 | πολλοὺς γὰρ ἐθεράπευσεν, ὥστε ἐπιπίπτειν αὐτῷ ἵνα αὐτοῦ ἅψωνται ὅσοι εἶχον μάστιγας. For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him in order to touch him, as many as had plagues. |
11 | καὶ τὰ πνεύματα τὰ ἀκάθαρτα, ὅταν αὐτὸν ἐθεώρουν, προσέπιπτον αὐτῷ καὶ ἔκραζον λέγοντα / λέγοντες ὅτι Σὺ εἶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ. And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, You are the Son of God. |
12 | Jesus Appoints the Twelveκαὶ πολλὰ ἐπετίμα αὐτοῖς ἵνα μὴ αὐτὸν φανερὸν ποιήσωσιν.And he strictly charged them that they should not make him known. |
13 | Καὶ ἀναβαίνει εἰς τὸ ὄρος καὶ προσκαλεῖται οὓς ἤθελεν αὐτός, καὶ ἀπῆλθον πρὸς αὐτόν. And he goes up into a mountain, and calls unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. |
14 | καὶ ἐποίησεν δώδεκα, οὓς καὶ ἀποστόλους ὠνόμασεν, ἵνα ὦσιν μετ´ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἵνα ἀποστέλλῃ αὐτοὺς κηρύσσειν And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, |
15 | καὶ ἔχειν ἐξουσίαν ἐκβάλλειν τὰ δαιμόνια· And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: |
16 | καὶ ἐποίησεν τοὺς δώδεκα καὶ ἐπέθηκεν ὄνομα τῷ Σίμωνι Πέτρον, And Simon he surnamed Peter; |
17 | καὶ Ἰάκωβον τὸν τοῦ Ζεβεδαίου καὶ Ἰωάνην / Ἰωάννην τὸν ἀδελφὸν τοῦ Ἰακώβου καὶ ἐπέθηκεν αὐτοῖς ὄνομα / ὀνόματα Βοανηργές, ὅ ἐστιν Υἱοὶ Βροντῆς, And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: |
18 | καὶ Ἀνδρέαν καὶ Φίλιππον καὶ Βαρθολομαῖον καὶ Μαθθαῖον καὶ Θωμᾶν καὶ Ἰάκωβον τὸν τοῦ Ἁλφαίου καὶ Θαδδαῖον καὶ Σίμωνα τὸν Καναναῖον And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, |
19 | Jesus Accused by His Family and by Teachers of the Lawκαὶ Ἰούδαν Ἰσκαριώθ, ὃς καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτόν.And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house. |
20 | Καὶ ἔρχεται εἰς οἶκον· καὶ συνέρχεται πάλιν ὁ ὄχλος, ὥστε μὴ δύνασθαι αὐτοὺς μηδὲ ἄρτον φαγεῖν. And the multitude comes together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. |
21 | καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ παρ´ αὐτοῦ ἐξῆλθον κρατῆσαι αὐτόν, ἔλεγον γὰρ ὅτι ἐξέστη. And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. |
22 | καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς οἱ ἀπὸ Ἰεροσολύμων καταβάντες ἔλεγον ὅτι Βεεζεβοὺλ / Βεελζεβοὺλ ἔχει, καὶ ὅτι ἐν τῷ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια. And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casts he out devils. |
23 | καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτοὺς ἐν παραβολαῖς ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς Πῶς δύναται Σατανᾶς Σατανᾶν ἐκβάλλειν; And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? |
24 | καὶ ἐὰν βασιλεία ἐφ´ ἑαυτὴν μερισθῇ, οὐ δύναται σταθῆναι ἡ βασιλεία ἐκείνη· And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. |
25 | καὶ ἐὰν οἰκία ἐφ´ ἑαυτὴν μερισθῇ, οὐ δυνήσεται ἡ οἰκία ἐκείνη στῆναι / σταθῆναι· And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. |
26 | καὶ εἰ ὁ Σατανᾶς ἀνέστη ἐφ´ ἑαυτὸν καὶ ἐμερίσθη, οὐ δύναται στῆναι ἀλλὰ τέλος ἔχει. And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but has an end. |
27 | ἀλλ´ οὐ δύναται οὐδεὶς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἰσχυροῦ εἰσελθὼν τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ διαρπάσαι ἐὰν μὴ πρῶτον τὸν ἰσχυρὸν δήσῃ, καὶ τότε τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ διαρπάσει. No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. |
28 | Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πάντα ἀφεθήσεται τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων, τὰ ἁμαρτήματα καὶ αἱ βλασφημίαι ὅσα ἐὰν βλασφημήσωσιν· Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith whatsoever they shall blaspheme: |
29 | ὃς δ´ ἂν βλασφημήσῃ εἰς τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον, οὐκ ἔχει ἄφεσιν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, ἀλλὰ ἔνοχός ἐστιν αἰωνίου ἁμαρτήματος. But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit has never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation. |
30 | ὅτι ἔλεγον Πνεῦμα ἀκάθαρτον ἔχει. Because they said, He has an unclean spirit. |
31 | Καὶ ἔρχονται / ἔρχεται ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔξω στήκοντες ἀπέστειλαν πρὸς αὐτὸν καλοῦντες αὐτόν. There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. |
32 | καὶ ἐκάθητο περὶ αὐτὸν ὄχλος, καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ Ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου {καὶ αἱ ἀδελφαί σου} ἔξω ζητοῦσίν σε. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, your mother and your brethren without seek for you. |
33 | καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτοῖς λέγει Τίς ἐστιν ἡ μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί; {μου} And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? |
34 | καὶ περιβλεψάμενος τοὺς περὶ αὐτὸν κύκλῳ καθημένους λέγει Ἴδε ἡ μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί μου· And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! |
35 | ὃς {γὰρ} ἂν ποιήσῃ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ, οὗτος ἀδελφός μου καὶ ἀδελφὴ καὶ μήτηρ ἐστίν. For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother. |
