1 προσθεις δε ελιους ετι λεγει
ַיֹּ֥סֶף אֱלִיה֗וּא וַיֹּאמַֽר׃
Elihu also proceeded, and said,
2 μεινον με μικρον ετι ινα διδαξω σε ετι γαρ εν εμοι εστιν λεξις
ַּתַּר־לִ֣י זְ֭עֵיר וַאֲחַוֶּ֑ךָּ כִּ֤י ע֖וֹד לֶאֱל֣וֹהַּ מִלִּֽים׃
Suffer me a little, and I will show you that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.
3 αναλαβων την επιστημην μου μακραν εργοις δε μου δικαια ερω
ֶשָּׂ֣א דֵ֭עִי לְמֵרָח֑וֹק וּ֝לְפֹעֲלִ֗י אֶֽתֵּֽן־צֶֽדֶק׃
I will fetch my knowledge from far, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
4 επ αληθειας και ουκ αδικα ρηματα αδικως συνιεις
ִּֽי־אָ֭מְנָם לֹא־שֶׁ֣קֶר מִלָּ֑י תְּמִ֖ים דֵּע֣וֹת עִמָּֽךְ׃
For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with you.
5 γιγνωσκε δε οτι ο κυριος ου μη αποποιησηται τον ακακον δυνατος ισχυι καρδιας
ֶן־אֵ֣ל כַּ֭בִּיר וְלֹ֣א יִמְאָ֑ס כַּ֝בִּ֗יר כֹּ֣חַֽ לֵֽב׃
Behold, God is mighty, and despises not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
6 ασεβη ου μη ζωοποιησει και κριμα πτωχων δωσει
ֹא־יְחַיֶּ֥ה רָשָׁ֑ע וּמִשְׁפַּ֖ט עֲנִיִּ֣ים יִתֵּֽן׃
He perserves not the life of the wicked: but gives right to the poor.
7 ουκ αφελει απο δικαιου οφθαλμους αυτου και μετα βασιλεων εις θρονον και καθιει αυτους εις νεικος και υψωθησονται
ֹֽא־יִגְרַ֥ע מִצַּדִּ֗יק עֵ֫ינָ֥יו וְאֶת־מְלָכִ֥ים לַכִּסֵּ֑א וַיֹּשִׁיבֵ֥ם לָ֝נֶ֗צַח וַיִּגְבָּֽהוּ׃
He withdraws not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he does establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
8 και ει πεπεδημενοι εν χειροπεδαις συσχεθησονται εν σχοινιοις πενιας
ְאִם־אֲסוּרִ֥ים בַּזִּקִּ֑ים יִ֝לָּכְד֗וּן בְּחַבְלֵי־עֹֽנִי׃
And if they be bound in fetters, and be held in cords of affliction;
9 και αναγγελει αυτοις τα εργα αυτων και τα παραπτωματα αυτων οτι ισχυσουσιν
ַיַּגֵּ֣ד לָהֶ֣ם פָּעֳלָ֑ם וּ֝פִשְׁעֵיהֶ֗ם כִּ֣י יִתְגַּבָּֽרוּ׃
Then he shows them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
10 αλλα του δικαιου εισακουσεται και ειπεν οτι επιστραφησονται εξ αδικιας
ַיִּ֣גֶל אָ֭זְנָם לַמּוּסָ֑ר וַ֝יֹּ֗אמֶר כִּֽי־יְשֻׁב֥וּן מֵאָֽוֶן׃
He opens also their ear to discipline, and commands that they return from iniquity.
11 εαν ακουσωσιν και δουλευσωσιν συντελεσουσιν τας ημερας αυτων εν αγαθοις και τα ετη αυτων εν ευπρεπειαις
ִֽם־יִשְׁמְע֗וּ וְֽיַ֫עֲבֹ֥דוּ יְכַלּ֣וּ יְמֵיהֶ֣ם בַּטּ֑וֹב וּ֝שְׁנֵיהֶ֗ם בַּנְּעִימִֽים׃
If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
12 ασεβεις δε ου διασωζει παρα το μη βουλεσθαι ειδεναι αυτους τον κυριον και διοτι νουθετουμενοι ανηκοοι ησαν
ְאִם־לֹ֣א יִ֭שְׁמְעוּ בְּשֶׁ֣לַח יַעֲבֹ֑רוּ וְ֝יִגְוְע֗וּ כִּבְלִי־דָֽעַת׃
But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
13 και υποκριται καρδια ταξουσιν θυμον ου βοησονται οτι εδησεν αυτους
ְֽחַנְפֵי־לֵ֭ב יָשִׂ֣ימוּ אָ֑ף לֹ֥א יְ֝שַׁוְּע֗וּ כִּ֣י אֲסָרָֽם׃
But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he binds them.
14 αποθανοι τοινυν εν νεοτητι η ψυχη αυτων η δε ζωη αυτων τιτρωσκομενη υπο αγγελων
ָּמֹ֣ת בַּנֹּ֣עַר נַפְשָׁ֑ם וְ֝חַיָּתָ֗ם בַּקְּדֵשִֽׁים׃
They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
15 ανθ ων εθλιψαν ασθενη και αδυνατον κριμα δε πραεων εκθησει
ְחַלֵּ֣ץ עָנִ֣י בְעָנְי֑וֹ וְיִ֖גֶל בַּלַּ֣חַץ אָזְנָֽם׃
He delivers the poor in his affliction, and opens their ears in oppression.
16 και προσετι ηπατησεν σε εκ στοματος εχθρου αβυσσος καταχυσις υποκατω αυτης και κατεβη τραπεζα σου πληρης πιοτητος
ְאַ֤ף הֲסִיתְךָ֨ ׀ מִפִּי־צָ֗ר רַ֭חַב לֹא־מוּצָ֣ק תַּחְתֶּ֑יהָ וְנַ֥חַת שֻׁ֝לְחָנְךָ֗ מָ֣לֵא דָֽשֶׁן׃
Even so would he have removed you out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no strictness; and that which should be set on your table should be full of fatness.
17 ουχ υστερησει δε απο δικαιων κριμα
ְדִין־רָשָׁ֥ע מָלֵ֑אתָ דִּ֖ין וּמִשְׁפָּ֣ט יִתְמֹֽכוּ׃
But you have fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on you.
18 θυμος δε επ ασεβεις εσται δι ασεβειαν δωρων ων εδεχοντο επ αδικιαις
ִּֽי־חֵ֭מָה פֶּן־יְסִֽיתְךָ֣ בְסָ֑פֶק וְרָב־כֹּ֝֗פֶר אַל־יַטֶּֽךָּ׃
Because there is wrath, beware lest he take you away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver you.
19 μη σε εκκλινατω εκων ο νους δεησεως εν αναγκη οντων αδυνατων και παντας τους κραταιουντας ισχυν
ֲיַעֲרֹ֣ךְ שׁ֭וּעֲךָ לֹ֣א בְצָ֑ר וְ֝כֹ֗ל מַאֲמַצֵּי־כֹֽחַ׃
Will he esteem your riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
20 μη εξελκυσης την νυκτα του αναβηναι λαους αντ αυτων
ַל־תִּשְׁאַ֥ף הַלָּ֑יְלָה לַעֲל֖וֹת עַמִּ֣ים תַּחְתָּֽם׃
Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
21 αλλα φυλαξαι μη πραξης ατοπα επι τουτον γαρ εξειλω απο πτωχειας
ִ֭שָּׁמֶר אַל־תֵּ֣פֶן אֶל־אָ֑וֶן כִּֽי־עַל־זֶ֝֗ה בָּחַ֥רְתָּ מֵעֹֽנִי׃
Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this have you chosen rather than affliction.
22 ιδου ο ισχυρος κραταιωσει εν ισχυι αυτου τις γαρ εστιν κατ αυτον δυναστης
ֶן־אֵ֭ל יַשְׂגִּ֣יב בְּכֹח֑וֹ מִ֖י כָמֹ֣הוּ מוֹרֶֽה׃
Behold, God exalts by his power: who teaches like him?
23 τις δε εστιν ο εταζων αυτου τα εργα η τις ο ειπας επραξεν αδικα
ִֽי־פָקַ֣ד עָלָ֣יו דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וּמִֽי־אָ֝מַ֗ר פָּעַ֥לְתָּ עַוְלָֽה׃
Who has commanded with authority him his way? or who can say, You have wrought iniquity?
24 μνησθητι οτι μεγαλα εστιν αυτου τα εργα ων ηρξαν ανδρες
ְ֭כֹר כִּֽי־תַשְׂגִּ֣יא פָעֳל֑וֹ אֲשֶׁ֖ר שֹׁרְר֣וּ אֲנָשִֽׁים׃
Remember that you magnify his work, which men behold.
25 πας ανθρωπος ειδεν εν εαυτω οσοι τιτρωσκομενοι εισιν βροτοι
ָּל־אָדָ֥ם חָֽזוּ־ב֑וֹ אֱ֝נ֗וֹשׁ יַבִּ֥יט מֵרָחֽוֹק׃
Every man may see it; man may behold it far off.
26 ιδου ο ισχυρος πολυς και ου γνωσομεθα αριθμος ετων αυτου και απεραντος
ֶן־אֵ֣ל שַׂ֭גִּיא וְלֹ֣א נֵדָ֑ע מִסְפַּ֖ר שָׁנָ֣יו וְלֹא־חֵֽקֶר׃
Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
27 αριθμηται δε αυτω σταγονες υετου και επιχυθησονται υετω εις νεφελην
ִּ֭י יְגָרַ֣ע נִטְפֵי־מָ֑יִם יָזֹ֖קּוּ מָטָ֣ר לְאֵדֽוֹ׃
For he makes small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
28 ρυησονται παλαιωματα εσκιασεν δε νεφη επι αμυθητων βροτων α ωραν εθετο κτηνεσιν οιδασιν δε κοιτης ταξιν β επι τουτοις πασιν ουκ εξισταται σου η διανοια ουδε διαλλασσεται σου η καρδια απο σωματος
ֲשֶֽׁר־יִזְּל֥וּ שְׁחָקִ֑ים יִ֝רְעֲפ֗וּ עֲלֵ֤י ׀ אָדָ֬ם רָֽב׃
Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
29 και εαν συνη απεκτασεις νεφελης ισοτητα σκηνης αυτου
ַ֣ף אִם־יָ֭בִין מִפְרְשֵׂי־עָ֑ב תְּ֝שֻׁא֗וֹת סֻכָּתֽוֹ׃
Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
30 ιδου εκτεινει επ αυτον ηδω και ριζωματα της θαλασσης εκαλυψεν
ֵן־פָּרַ֣שׂ עָלָ֣יו אוֹר֑וֹ וְשָׁרְשֵׁ֖י הַיָּ֣ם כִּסָּֽה׃
Behold, he spreads his light upon it, and covers the bottom of the sea.
31 εν γαρ αυτοις κρινει λαους δωσει τροφην τω ισχυοντι
ִּי־בָ֭ם יָדִ֣ין עַמִּ֑ים יִֽתֶּן־אֹ֥כֶל לְמַכְבִּֽיר׃
For by them judges he the people; he gives food in abundance.
32 επι χειρων εκαλυψεν φως και ενετειλατο περι αυτης εν απαντωντι
ַל־כַּפַּ֥יִם כִּסָּה־א֑וֹר וַיְצַ֖ו עָלֶ֣יהָ בְמַפְגִּֽיעַ׃
With clouds he covers the light; and commands it not to shine by the cloud that comes between.
33 αναγγελει περι αυτου φιλον αυτου κτησις και περι αδικιας
ַגִּ֣יד עָלָ֣יו רֵע֑וֹ מִ֝קְנֶ֗ה אַ֣ף עַל־עוֹלֶֽה׃
The noise thereof shows concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
