1 και εγω εν ετει πρωτω κυρου εστην εις κρατος και ισχυν
ַאֲנִי֙ בִּשְׁנַ֣ת אַחַ֔ת לְדָרְיָ֖וֶשׁ הַמָּדִ֑י עָמְדִ֛י לְמַחֲזִ֥יק וּלְמָע֖וֹז לֽוֹ׃
Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.

The Kings of the South and the North
και νυν αληθειαν αναγγελω σοι ιδου ετι τρεις βασιλεις αναστησονται εν τη περσιδι και ο τεταρτος πλουτησει πλουτον μεγαν παρα παντας και μετα το κρατησαι αυτον του πλουτου αυτου επαναστησεται πασαις βασιλειαις ελληνων
ְעַתָּ֕ה אֱמֶ֖ת אַגִּ֣יד לָ֑ךְ הִנֵּה־עוֹד֩ שְׁלֹשָׁ֨ה מְלָכִ֜ים עֹמְדִ֣ים לְפָרַ֗ס וְהָֽרְבִיעִי֙ יַעֲשִׁ֤יר עֹֽשֶׁר־גָּדוֹל֙ מִכֹּ֔ל וּכְחֶזְקָת֣וֹ בְעָשְׁר֔וֹ יָעִ֣יר הַכֹּ֔ל אֵ֖ת מַלְכ֥וּת יָוָֽן׃
And now will I show you the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.
3 και αναστησεται βασιλευς δυνατος και κυριευσει κυριειας πολλης και ποιησει κατα το θελημα αυτου
ְעָמַ֖ד מֶ֣לֶךְ גִּבּ֑וֹר וּמָשַׁל֙ מִמְשָׁ֣ל רַ֔ב וְעָשָׂ֖ה כִּרְצוֹנֽוֹ׃
And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.
4 και ως αν στη η βασιλεια αυτου συντριβησεται και διαιρεθησεται εις τους τεσσαρας ανεμους του ουρανου και ουκ εις τα εσχατα αυτου ουδε κατα την κυριειαν αυτου ην εκυριευσεν οτι εκτιλησεται η βασιλεια αυτου και ετεροις εκτος τουτων
ּכְעָמְדוֹ֙ תִּשָּׁבֵ֣ר מַלְכוּת֔וֹ וְתֵחָ֕ץ לְאַרְבַּ֖ע רוּח֣וֹת הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְלֹ֣א לְאַחֲרִית֗וֹ וְלֹ֤א כְמָשְׁלוֹ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר מָשָׁ֔ל כִּ֤י תִנָּתֵשׁ֙ מַלְכוּת֔וֹ וְלַאֲחֵרִ֖ים מִלְּבַד־אֵֽלֶּה׃
And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.
5 και ενισχυσει ο βασιλευς του νοτου και εις των αρχοντων αυτου ενισχυσει επ αυτον και κυριευσει κυριειαν πολλην επ εξουσιας αυτου
ְיֶחֱזַ֥ק מֶֽלֶךְ־הַנֶּ֖גֶב וּמִן־שָׂרָ֑יו וְיֶחֱזַ֤ק עָלָיו֙ וּמָשָׁ֔ל מִמְשָׁ֥ל רַ֖ב מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃
And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.
6 και μετα τα ετη αυτου συμμειγησονται και θυγατηρ βασιλεως του νοτου εισελευσεται προς βασιλεα του βορρα του ποιησαι συνθηκας μετ αυτου και ου κρατησει ισχυος βραχιονος και ου στησεται το σπερμα αυτου και παραδοθησεται αυτη και οι φεροντες αυτην και η νεανις και ο κατισχυων αυτην εν τοις καιροις
ּלְקֵ֤ץ שָׁנִים֙ יִתְחַבָּ֔רוּ וּבַ֣ת מֶֽלֶךְ־הַנֶּ֗גֶב תָּבוֹא֙ אֶל־מֶ֣לֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת מֵישָׁרִ֑ים וְלֹֽא־תַעְצֹ֞ר כּ֣וֹחַ הַזְּר֗וֹעַ וְלֹ֤א יַעֲמֹד֙ וּזְרֹע֔וֹ וְתִנָּתֵ֨ן הִ֤יא וּמְבִיאֶ֙יהָ֙ וְהַיֹּ֣לְדָ֔הּ וּמַחֲזִקָ֖הּ בָּעִתִּֽים׃
And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that brings forth her, and he that strengthened her in these times.
7 και στησεται εκ του ανθους της ριζης αυτης της ετοιμασιας αυτου και ηξει προς την δυναμιν και εισελευσεται εις τα υποστηριγματα του βασιλεως του βορρα και ποιησει εν αυτοις και κατισχυσει
ְעָמַ֛ד מִנֵּ֥צֶר שָׁרָשֶׁ֖יהָ כַּנּ֑וֹ וְיָבֹ֣א אֶל־הַחַ֗יִל וְיָבֹא֙ בְּמָעוֹז֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן וְעָשָׂ֥ה בָהֶ֖ם וְהֶחֱזִֽיק׃
But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:
8 και γε τους θεους αυτων μετα των χωνευτων αυτων παν σκευος επιθυμητον αυτων αργυριου και χρυσιου μετα αιχμαλωσιας οισει εις αιγυπτον και αυτος στησεται υπερ βασιλεα του βορρα
ְגַ֣ם אֱ‍ֽלֹהֵיהֶ֡ם עִם־נְסִֽכֵיהֶם֩ עִם־כְּלֵ֨י חֶמְדָּתָ֜ם כֶּ֧סֶף וְזָהָ֛ב בַּשְּׁבִ֖י יָבִ֣א מִצְרָ֑יִם וְהוּא֙ שָׁנִ֣ים יַעֲמֹ֔ד מִמֶּ֖לֶךְ הַצָּפֽוֹן׃
And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.
9 και εισελευσεται εις την βασιλειαν του βασιλεως του νοτου και αναστρεψει εις την γην αυτου
ּבָ֗א בְּמַלְכוּת֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַנֶּ֔גֶב וְשָׁ֖ב אֶל־אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃
So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.
10 και οι υιοι αυτου συναξουσιν οχλον δυναμεων πολλων και ελευσεται ερχομενος και κατακλυζων και παρελευσεται και καθιεται και συμπροσπλακησεται εως της ισχυος αυτου
?בנו **וּבָנָ֣יו יִתְגָּר֗וּ וְאָסְפוּ֙ הֲמוֹן֙ חֲיָלִ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים וּבָ֥א ב֖וֹא וְשָׁטַ֣ף וְעָבָ֑ר וְיָשֹׁ֥ב *ויתגרו **וְיִתְגָּרֶ֖ה עַד־*מעזה **מָעֻזּֽוֹ׃
But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.
11 και αγριανθησεται βασιλευς του νοτου και εξελευσεται και πολεμησει μετα βασιλεως του βορρα και στησει οχλον πολυν και παραδοθησεται ο οχλος εν χειρι αυτου
ְיִתְמַרְמַר֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַנֶּ֔גֶב וְיָצָ֕א וְנִלְחַ֥ם עִמּ֖וֹ עִם־מֶ֣לֶךְ הַצָּפ֑וֹן וְהֶעֱמִיד֙ הָמ֣וֹן רָ֔ב וְנִתַּ֥ן הֶהָמ֖וֹן בְּיָדֽוֹ׃
And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
12 και λημψεται τον οχλον και υψωθησεται η καρδια αυτου και καταβαλει μυριαδας και ου κατισχυσει
ְנִשָּׂ֥א הֶהָמ֖וֹן *ירום **וְרָ֣ם לְבָב֑וֹ וְהִפִּ֛יל רִבֹּא֖וֹת וְלֹ֥א יָעֽוֹז׃
And when he has taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.
13 και επιστρεψει βασιλευς του βορρα και αξει οχλον πολυν υπερ τον προτερον και εις το τελος των καιρων ενιαυτων επελευσεται εισοδια εν δυναμει μεγαλη και εν υπαρξει πολλη
ְשָׁב֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן וְהֶעֱמִ֣יד הָמ֔וֹן רַ֖ב מִן־הָרִאשׁ֑וֹן וּלְקֵ֨ץ הָֽעִתִּ֤ים שָׁנִים֙ יָ֣בוֹא ב֔וֹא בְּחַ֥יִל גָּד֖וֹל וּבִרְכ֥וּשׁ רָֽב׃
For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches.
14 και εν τοις καιροις εκεινοις πολλοι επαναστησονται επι βασιλεα του νοτου και οι υιοι των λοιμων του λαου σου επαρθησονται του στησαι ορασιν και ασθενησουσιν
ּבָעִתִּ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם רַבִּ֥ים יַֽעַמְד֖וּ עַל־מֶ֣לֶךְ הַנֶּ֑גֶב וּבְנֵ֣י ׀ פָּרִיצֵ֣י עַמְּךָ֗ יִֽנַּשְּׂא֛וּ לְהַעֲמִ֥יד חָז֖וֹן וְנִכְשָֽׁלוּ׃
And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of your people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.
15 και εισελευσεται βασιλευς του βορρα και εκχεει προσχωμα και συλλημψεται πολεις οχυρας και οι βραχιονες του βασιλεως του νοτου ου στησονται και αναστησονται οι εκλεκτοι αυτου και ουκ εσται ισχυς του στηναι
ְיָבֹא֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן וְיִשְׁפֹּךְ֙ סֽוֹלֲלָ֔ה וְלָכַ֖ד עִ֣יר מִבְצָר֑וֹת וּזְרֹע֤וֹת הַנֶּ֙גֶב֙ לֹ֣א יַעֲמֹ֔דוּ וְעַם֙ מִבְחָרָ֔יו וְאֵ֥ין כֹּ֖חַ לַעֲמֹֽד׃
So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
16 και ποιησει ο εισπορευομενος προς αυτον κατα το θελημα αυτου και ουκ εστιν εστως κατα προσωπον αυτου και στησεται εν γη του σαβι και συντελεσθησεται εν τη χειρι αυτου
ְיַ֨עַשׂ הַבָּ֤א אֵלָיו֙ כִּרְצוֹנ֔וֹ וְאֵ֥ין עוֹמֵ֖ד לְפָנָ֑יו וְיַעֲמֹ֥ד בְּאֶֽרֶץ־הַצְּבִ֖י וְכָלָ֥ה בְיָדֽוֹ׃
But he that comes against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.
17 και ταξει το προσωπον αυτου εισελθειν εν ισχυι πασης της βασιλειας αυτου και ευθεια παντα μετ αυτου ποιησει και θυγατερα των γυναικων δωσει αυτω του διαφθειραι αυτην και ου μη παραμεινη και ουκ αυτω εσται
ְיָשֵׂ֣ם ׀ פָּ֠נָיו לָב֞וֹא בְּתֹ֧קֶף כָּל־מַלְכוּת֛וֹ וִישָׁרִ֥ים עִמּ֖וֹ וְעָשָׂ֑ה וּבַ֤ת הַנָּשִׁים֙ יִתֶּן־ל֣וֹ לְהַשְׁחִיתָ֔הּ וְלֹ֥א תַעֲמֹ֖ד וְלֹא־ל֥וֹ תִהְיֶֽה׃
He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
18 και επιστρεψει το προσωπον αυτου εις τας νησους και συλλημψεται πολλας και καταπαυσει αρχοντας ονειδισμου αυτων πλην ονειδισμος αυτου επιστρεψει αυτω
?ישב **וְיָשֵׂ֧ם ׀ פָּנָ֛יו לְאִיִּ֖ים וְלָכַ֣ד רַבִּ֑ים וְהִשְׁבִּ֨ית קָצִ֤ין חֶרְפָּתוֹ֙ ל֔וֹ בִּלְתִּ֥י חֶרְפָּת֖וֹ יָשִׁ֥יב לֽוֹ׃
After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
19 και επιστρεψει το προσωπον αυτου εις την ισχυν της γης αυτου και ασθενησει και πεσειται και ουχ ευρεθησεται
ְיָשֵׁ֣ב פָּנָ֔יו לְמָעוּזֵּ֖י אַרְצ֑וֹ וְנִכְשַׁ֥ל וְנָפַ֖ל וְלֹ֥א יִמָּצֵֽא׃
Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.
20 και αναστησεται εκ της ριζης αυτου φυτον βασιλειας επι την ετοιμασιαν αυτου παραβιβαζων πρασσων δοξαν βασιλειας και εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις συντριβησεται και ουκ εν προσωποις ουδε εν πολεμω
ְעָמַ֧ד עַל־כַּנּ֛וֹ מַעֲבִ֥יר נוֹגֵ֖שׂ הֶ֣דֶר מַלְכ֑וּת וּבְיָמִ֤ים אֲחָדִים֙ יִשָּׁבֵ֔ר וְלֹ֥א בְאַפַּ֖יִם וְלֹ֥א בְמִלְחָמָֽה׃
Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
21 στησεται επι την ετοιμασιαν αυτου εξουδενωθη και ουκ εδωκαν επ αυτον δοξαν βασιλειας και ηξει εν ευθηνια και κατισχυσει βασιλειας εν ολισθρημασιν
ְעָמַ֤ד עַל־כַּנּוֹ֙ נִבְזֶ֔ה וְלֹא־נָתְנ֥וּ עָלָ֖יו ה֣וֹד מַלְכ֑וּת וּבָ֣א בְשַׁלְוָ֔ה וְהֶחֱזִ֥יק מַלְכ֖וּת בַּחֲלַקְלַקּֽוֹת׃
And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
22 και βραχιονες του κατακλυζοντος κατακλυσθησονται απο προσωπου αυτου και συντριβησονται και ηγουμενος διαθηκης
ּזְרֹע֥וֹת הַשֶּׁ֛טֶף יִשָּׁטְפ֥וּ מִלְּפָנָ֖יו וְיִשָּׁבֵ֑רוּ וְגַ֖ם נְגִ֥יד בְּרִֽית׃
And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflowed from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
23 και απο των συναναμειξεων προς αυτον ποιησει δολον και αναβησεται και υπερισχυσει αυτου εν ολιγω εθνει
ּמִן־הִֽתְחַבְּר֥וּת אֵלָ֖יו יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה מִרְמָ֑ה וְעָלָ֥ה וְעָצַ֖ם בִּמְעַט־גּֽוֹי׃
And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
24 και εν ευθηνια και εν πιοσιν χωραις ηξει και ποιησει α ουκ εποιησαν οι πατερες αυτου και οι πατερες των πατερων αυτου προνομην και σκυλα και υπαρξιν αυτοις διασκορπιει και επ αιγυπτον λογιειται λογισμους αυτου και εως καιρου
ְּשַׁלְוָ֞ה וּבְמִשְׁמַנֵּ֣י מְדִינָה֮ יָבוֹא֒ וְעָשָׂ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹא־עָשׂ֤וּ אֲבֹתָיו֙ וַאֲב֣וֹת אֲבֹתָ֔יו בִּזָּ֧ה וְשָׁלָ֛ל וּרְכ֖וּשׁ לָהֶ֣ם יִבְז֑וֹר וְעַ֧ל מִבְצָרִ֛ים יְחַשֵּׁ֥ב מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֖יו וְעַד־עֵֽת׃
He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
25 και εξεγερθησεται η ισχυς αυτου και η καρδια αυτου επι βασιλεα του νοτου εν δυναμει μεγαλη και ο βασιλευς του νοτου συναψει πολεμον εν δυναμει μεγαλη και ισχυρα σφοδρα και ου στησεται οτι λογιουνται επ αυτον λογισμους
ְיָעֵר֩ כֹּח֨וֹ וּלְבָב֜וֹ עַל־מֶ֣לֶךְ הַנֶּגֶב֮ בְּחַ֣יִל גָּדוֹל֒ וּמֶ֣לֶךְ הַנֶּ֗גֶב יִתְגָּרֶה֙ לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה בְּחַֽיִל־גָּד֥וֹל וְעָצ֖וּם עַד־מְאֹ֑ד וְלֹ֣א יַעֲמֹ֔ד כִּֽי־יַחְשְׁב֥וּ עָלָ֖יו מַחֲשָׁבֽוֹת׃
And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
26 και φαγονται τα δεοντα αυτου και συντριψουσιν αυτον και δυναμεις κατακλυσει και πεσουνται τραυματιαι πολλοι
ְאֹכְלֵ֧י פַת־בָּג֛וֹ יִשְׁבְּר֖וּהוּ וְחֵיל֣וֹ יִשְׁט֑וֹף וְנָפְל֖וּ חֲלָלִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃
Yea, they that feed of the portion of his food shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
27 και αμφοτεροι οι βασιλεις αι καρδιαι αυτων εις πονηριαν και επι τραπεζη μια ψευδη λαλησουσιν και ου κατευθυνει οτι ετι περας εις καιρον
ּשְׁנֵיהֶ֤ם הַמְּלָכִים֙ לְבָבָ֣ם לְמֵרָ֔ע וְעַל־שֻׁלְחָ֥ן אֶחָ֖ד כָּזָ֣ב יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ וְלֹ֣א תִצְלָ֔ח כִּי־ע֥וֹד קֵ֖ץ לַמּוֹעֵֽד׃
And both of these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at the same table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
28 και επιστρεψει εις την γην αυτου εν υπαρξει πολλη και η καρδια αυτου επι διαθηκην αγιαν και ποιησει και επιστρεψει εις την γην αυτου
ְיָשֹׁ֤ב אַרְצוֹ֙ בִּרְכ֣וּשׁ גָּד֔וֹל וּלְבָב֖וֹ עַל־בְּרִ֣ית קֹ֑דֶשׁ וְעָשָׂ֖ה וְשָׁ֥ב לְאַרְצֽוֹ׃
Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
29 εις τον καιρον επιστρεψει και ηξει εν τω νοτω και ουκ εσται ως η πρωτη και ως η εσχατη
ַמּוֹעֵ֥ד יָשׁ֖וּב וּבָ֣א בַנֶּ֑גֶב וְלֹֽא־תִהְיֶ֥ה כָרִאשֹׁנָ֖ה וְכָאַחֲרֹנָֽה׃
At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
30 και εισελευσονται εν αυτω οι εκπορευομενοι κιτιοι και ταπεινωθησεται και επιστρεψει και θυμωθησεται επι διαθηκην αγιαν και ποιησει και επιστρεψει και συνησει επι τους καταλιποντας διαθηκην αγιαν
ּבָ֨אוּ ב֜וֹ צִיִּ֤ים כִּתִּים֙ וְנִכְאָ֔ה וְשָׁ֛ב וְזָעַ֥ם עַל־בְּרִֽית־ק֖וֹדֶשׁ וְעָשָׂ֑ה וְשָׁ֣ב וְיָבֵ֔ן עַל־עֹזְבֵ֖י בְּרִ֥ית קֹֽדֶשׁ׃
For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
31 και σπερματα εξ αυτου αναστησονται και βεβηλωσουσιν το αγιασμα της δυναστειας και μεταστησουσιν τον ενδελεχισμον και δωσουσιν βδελυγμα ηφανισμενον
ּזְרֹעִ֖ים מִמֶּ֣נּוּ יַעֲמֹ֑דוּ וְחִלְּל֞וּ הַמִּקְדָּ֤שׁ הַמָּעוֹז֙ וְהֵסִ֣ירוּ הַתָּמִ֔יד וְנָתְנ֖וּ הַשִּׁקּ֥וּץ מְשׁוֹמֵֽם׃
And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that makes desolate.
32 και οι ανομουντες διαθηκην επαξουσιν εν ολισθρημασιν και λαος γινωσκοντες θεον αυτου κατισχυσουσιν και ποιησουσιν
ּמַרְשִׁיעֵ֣י בְרִ֔ית יַחֲנִ֖יף בַּחֲלַקּ֑וֹת וְעַ֛ם יֹדְעֵ֥י אֱלֹהָ֖יו יַחֲזִ֥קוּ וְעָשֽׂוּ׃
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
33 και οι συνετοι του λαου συνησουσιν εις πολλα και ασθενησουσιν εν ρομφαια και εν φλογι και εν αιχμαλωσια και εν διαρπαγη ημερων
ּמַשְׂכִּ֣ילֵי עָ֔ם יָבִ֖ינוּ לָֽרַבִּ֑ים וְנִכְשְׁל֞וּ בְּחֶ֧רֶב וּבְלֶהָבָ֛ה בִּשְׁבִ֥י וּבְבִזָּ֖ה יָמִֽים׃
And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
34 και εν τω ασθενησαι αυτους βοηθηθησονται βοηθειαν μικραν και προστεθησονται επ αυτους πολλοι εν ολισθρημασιν
ּבְהִכָּ֣שְׁלָ֔ם יֵעָזְר֖וּ עֵ֣זֶר מְעָ֑ט וְנִלְו֧וּ עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם רַבִּ֖ים בַּחֲלַקְלַקּֽוֹת׃
Now when they shall fall, they shall be helped with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
35 και απο των συνιεντων ασθενησουσιν του πυρωσαι αυτους και του εκλεξασθαι και του αποκαλυφθηναι εως καιρου περας οτι ετι εις καιρον
ּמִן־הַמַּשְׂכִּילִ֣ים יִכָּֽשְׁל֗וּ לִצְר֥וֹף בָּהֶ֛ם וּלְבָרֵ֥ר וְלַלְבֵּ֖ן עַד־עֵ֣ת קֵ֑ץ כִּי־ע֖וֹד לַמּוֹעֵֽד׃
And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

The King Who Exalts Himself
και ποιησει κατα το θελημα αυτου και υψωθησεται ο βασιλευς και μεγαλυνθησεται επι παντα θεον και λαλησει υπερογκα και κατευθυνει μεχρις ου συντελεσθη η οργη εις γαρ συντελειαν γινεται
ְעָשָׂ֨ה כִרְצוֹנ֜וֹ הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ וְיִתְרוֹמֵ֤ם וְיִתְגַּדֵּל֙ עַל־כָּל־אֵ֔ל וְעַל֙ אֵ֣ל אֵלִ֔ים יְדַבֵּ֖ר נִפְלָא֑וֹת וְהִצְלִ֙יחַ֙ עַד־כָּ֣לָה זַ֔עַם כִּ֥י נֶחֱרָצָ֖ה נֶעֱשָֽׂתָה׃
And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
37 και επι παντας θεους των πατερων αυτου ου συνησει και επι επιθυμιαν γυναικων και επι παν θεον ου συνησει οτι επι παντας μεγαλυνθησεται
ְעַל־אֱלֹהֵ֤י אֲבֹתָיו֙ לֹ֣א יָבִ֔ין וְעַל־חֶמְדַּ֥ת נָשִׁ֛ים וְעַֽל־כָּל־אֱל֖וֹהַּ לֹ֣א יָבִ֑ין כִּ֥י עַל־כֹּ֖ל יִתְגַּדָּֽל׃
Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
38 και θεον μαωζιν επι τοπου αυτου δοξασει και θεον ον ουκ εγνωσαν οι πατερες αυτου δοξασει εν χρυσω και αργυρω και λιθω τιμιω και εν επιθυμημασιν
ְלֶאֱלֹ֙הַּ֙ מָֽעֻזִּ֔ים עַל־כַּנּ֖וֹ יְכַבֵּ֑ד וְלֶאֱל֜וֹהַּ אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹא־יְדָעֻ֣הוּ אֲבֹתָ֗יו יְכַבֵּ֛ד בְּזָהָ֥ב וּבְכֶ֛סֶף וּבְאֶ֥בֶן יְקָרָ֖ה וּבַחֲמֻדֽוֹת׃
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
39 και ποιησει τοις οχυρωμασιν των καταφυγων μετα θεου αλλοτριου και πληθυνει δοξαν και υποταξει αυτοις πολλους και γην διελει εν δωροις
ְעָשָׂ֞ה לְמִבְצְרֵ֤י מָֽעֻזִּים֙ עִם־אֱל֣וֹהַּ נֵכָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר *הכיר **יַכִּ֖יר יַרְבֶּ֣ה כָב֑וֹד וְהִמְשִׁילָם֙ בָּֽרַבִּ֔ים וַאֲדָמָ֖ה יְחַלֵּ֥ק בִּמְחִֽיר׃
Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
40 και εν καιρου περατι συγκερατισθησεται μετα του βασιλεως του νοτου και συναχθησεται επ αυτον βασιλευς του βορρα εν αρμασιν και εν ιππευσιν και εν ναυσιν πολλαις και εισελευσεται εις την γην και συντριψει και παρελευσεται
ּבְעֵ֣ת קֵ֗ץ יִתְנַגַּ֤ח עִמּוֹ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַנֶּ֔גֶב וְיִשְׂתָּעֵ֨ר עָלָ֜יו מֶ֣לֶךְ הַצָּפ֗וֹן בְּרֶ֙כֶב֙ וּבְפָ֣רָשִׁ֔ים וּבָאֳנִיּ֖וֹת רַבּ֑וֹת וּבָ֥א בַאֲרָצ֖וֹת וְשָׁטַ֥ף וְעָבָֽר׃
And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
41 και εισελευσεται εις την γην του σαβι και πολλοι ασθενησουσιν και ουτοι διασωθησονται εκ χειρος αυτου εδωμ και μωαβ και αρχη υιων αμμων
ּבָא֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ הַצְּבִ֔י וְרַבּ֖וֹת יִכָּשֵׁ֑לוּ וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ יִמָּלְט֣וּ מִיָּד֔וֹ אֱד֣וֹם וּמוֹאָ֔ב וְרֵאשִׁ֖ית בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃
He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
42 και εκτενει την χειρα αυτου επι την γην και γη αιγυπτου ουκ εσται εις σωτηριαν
ְיִשְׁלַ֥ח יָד֖וֹ בַּאֲרָצ֑וֹת וְאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם לֹ֥א תִהְיֶ֖ה לִפְלֵיטָֽה׃
He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
43 και κυριευσει εν τοις αποκρυφοις του χρυσου και του αργυρου και εν πασιν επιθυμητοις αιγυπτου και λιβυων και αιθιοπων εν τοις οχυρωμασιν αυτων
ּמָשַׁ֗ל בְּמִכְמַנֵּי֙ הַזָּהָ֣ב וְהַכֶּ֔סֶף וּבְכֹ֖ל חֲמֻד֣וֹת מִצְרָ֑יִם וְלֻבִ֥ים וְכֻשִׁ֖ים בְּמִצְעָדָֽיו׃
But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
44 και ακοαι και σπουδαι ταραξουσιν αυτον εξ ανατολων και απο βορρα και ηξει εν θυμω πολλω του αφανισαι και του αναθεματισαι πολλους
ּשְׁמֻע֣וֹת יְבַהֲלֻ֔הוּ מִמִּזְרָ֖ח וּמִצָּפ֑וֹן וְיָצָא֙ בְּחֵמָ֣א גְדֹלָ֔ה לְהַשְׁמִ֥יד וּֽלְהַחֲרִ֖ים רַבִּֽים׃
But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
45 και πηξει την σκηνην αυτου εφαδανω ανα μεσον των θαλασσων εις ορος σαβι αγιον και ηξει εως μερους αυτου και ουκ εστιν ο ρυομενος αυτον
ְיִטַּע֙ אָהֳלֶ֣י אַפַּדְנ֔וֹ בֵּ֥ין יַמִּ֖ים לְהַר־צְבִי־קֹ֑דֶשׁ וּבָא֙ עַד־קִצּ֔וֹ וְאֵ֥ין עוֹזֵ֖ר לֽוֹ׃
And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
