2 | Τῇ προσευχῇ προσκαρτερεῖτε, γρηγοροῦντες ἐν αὐτῇ ἐν εὐχαριστίᾳ, Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; |
3 | προσευχόμενοι ἅμα καὶ περὶ ἡμῶν, ἵνα ὁ θεὸς ἀνοίξῃ ἡμῖν θύραν τοῦ λόγου, λαλῆσαι τὸ μυστήριον τοῦ χριστοῦ, δι´ ὃ καὶ δέδεμαι, Likewise praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: |
4 | ἵνα φανερώσω αὐτὸ ὡς δεῖ με λαλῆσαι. That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. |
5 | Ἐν σοφίᾳ περιπατεῖτε πρὸς τοὺς ἔξω, τὸν καιρὸν ἐξαγοραζόμενοι. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. |
6 | Final Greetingsὁ λόγος ὑμῶν πάντοτε ἐν χάριτι, ἅλατι ἠρτυμένος, εἰδέναι πῶς δεῖ ὑμᾶς ἑνὶ ἑκάστῳ ἀποκρίνεσθαι.Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that all of you may know how all of you ought to answer every man. |
7 | Τὰ κατ´ ἐμὲ πάντα γνωρίσει ὑμῖν Τύχικος ὁ ἀγαπητὸς ἀδελφὸς καὶ πιστὸς διάκονος καὶ σύνδουλος ἐν κυρίῳ, All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord: |
8 | ὃν ἔπεμψα πρὸς ὑμᾶς εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο ἵνα γνῶτε τὰ περὶ ἡμῶν καὶ παρακαλέσῃ τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν, Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts; |
9 | σὺν Ὀνησίμῳ τῷ πιστῷ καὶ ἀγαπητῷ ἀδελφῷ, ὅς ἐστιν ἐξ ὑμῶν· πάντα ὑμῖν γνωρίσουσιν τὰ ὧδε. With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here. |
10 | Ἀσπάζεται ὑμᾶς Ἀρίσταρχος ὁ συναιχμάλωτός μου, καὶ Μάρκος ὁ ἀνεψιὸς Βαρνάβα, περὶ οὗ ἐλάβετε ἐντολάς, ἐὰν ἔλθῃ πρὸς ὑμᾶς δέξασθε αὐτόν Aristarchus my fellow-prisoner salutes you, and Marcus, sister's (concerning whom all of you received commandments: if he comes unto you, receive him;) |
11 | καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ λεγόμενος Ἰοῦστος, οἱ ὄντες ἐκ περιτομῆς, οὗτοι μόνοι συνεργοὶ εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ, οἵτινες ἐγενήθησάν μοι παρηγορία. And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellow workers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me. |
12 | ἀσπάζεται ὑμᾶς Ἐπαφρᾶς ὁ ἐξ ὑμῶν, δοῦλος Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ, πάντοτε ἀγωνιζόμενος ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν ἐν ταῖς προσευχαῖς, ἵνα σταθῆτε τέλειοι καὶ πεπληροφορημένοι ἐν παντὶ θελήματι τοῦ θεοῦ. Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that all of you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. |
13 | μαρτυρῶ γὰρ αὐτῷ ὅτι ἔχει πολὺν πόνον ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν καὶ τῶν ἐν Λαοδικίᾳ / Λαοδικείᾳ καὶ τῶν ἐν Ἱερᾷ ͜ Πόλει. For I bear him record, that he has a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis. |
14 | ἀσπάζεται ὑμᾶς Λουκᾶς ὁ ἰατρὸς ὁ ἀγαπητὸς καὶ Δημᾶς. Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. |
15 | Ἀσπάσασθε τοὺς ἐν Λαοδικίᾳ / Λαοδικείᾳ ἀδελφοὺς καὶ Νύμφαν καὶ τὴν κατ´ οἶκον αὐτῆς ἐκκλησίαν. Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house. |
16 | καὶ ὅταν ἀναγνωσθῇ παρ´ ὑμῖν ἡ ἐπιστολή, ποιήσατε ἵνα καὶ ἐν τῇ Λαοδικέων ἐκκλησίᾳ ἀναγνωσθῇ, καὶ τὴν ἐκ Λαοδικίας / Λαοδικείας ἵνα καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀναγνῶτε. And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that all of you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. |
17 | καὶ εἴπατε Ἀρχίππῳ Βλέπε τὴν διακονίαν ἣν παρέλαβες ἐν κυρίῳ, ἵνα αὐτὴν πληροῖς. And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it. |
18 | Ὁ ἀσπασμὸς τῇ ἐμῇ χειρὶ Παύλου. μνημονεύετέ μου τῶν δεσμῶν. ἡ χάρις μεθ´ ὑμῶν. The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen. |
