1 σοφαι γυναικες ωκοδομησαν οικους η δε αφρων κατεσκαψεν ταις χερσιν αυτης
ַכְמ֣וֹת נָ֭שִׁים בָּנְתָ֣ה בֵיתָ֑הּ וְ֝אִוֶּ֗לֶת בְּיָדֶ֥יהָ תֶהֶרְסֶֽנּוּ׃
Every wise woman builds her house: but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.
2 ο πορευομενος ορθως φοβειται τον κυριον ο δε σκολιαζων ταις οδοις αυτου ατιμασθησεται
וֹלֵ֣ךְ בְּ֭יָשְׁרוֹ יְרֵ֣א יְהוָ֑ה וּנְל֖וֹז דְּרָכָ֣יו בּוֹזֵֽהוּ׃
He that walks in his uprightness fears the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despises him.
3 εκ στοματος αφρονων βακτηρια υβρεως χειλη δε σοφων φυλασσει αυτους
ְּֽפִי־אֱ֭וִיל חֹ֣טֶר גַּאֲוָ֑ה וְשִׂפְתֵ֥י חֲ֝כָמִ֗ים תִּשְׁמוּרֵֽם׃
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
4 ου μη εισιν βοες φατναι καθαραι ου δε πολλα γενηματα φανερα βοος ισχυς
ְּאֵ֣ין אֲ֭לָפִים אֵב֣וּס בָּ֑ר וְרָב־תְּ֝בוּא֗וֹת בְּכֹ֣חַ שֽׁוֹר׃
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5 μαρτυς πιστος ου ψευδεται εκκαιει δε ψευδη μαρτυς αδικος
ֵ֣ד אֱ֭מוּנִים לֹ֣א יְכַזֵּ֑ב וְיָפִ֥יחַ כְּ֝זָבִ֗ים עֵ֣ד שָֽׁקֶר׃
A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
6 ζητησεις σοφιαν παρα κακοις και ουχ ευρησεις αισθησις δε παρα φρονιμοις ευχερης
ִּקֶּשׁ־לֵ֣ץ חָכְמָ֣ה וָאָ֑יִן וְדַ֖עַת לְנָב֣וֹן נָקָֽל׃
A scorner seeks wisdom, and finds it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understands.
7 παντα εναντια ανδρι αφρονι οπλα δε αισθησεως χειλη σοφα
ֵ֣ךְ מִ֭נֶּגֶד לְאִ֣ישׁ כְּסִ֑יל וּבַל־יָ֝דַ֗עְתָּ שִׂפְתֵי־דָֽעַת׃
Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you perceive not in him the lips of knowledge.
8 σοφια πανουργων επιγνωσεται τας οδους αυτων ανοια δε αφρονων εν πλανη
ָכְמַ֣ת עָ֭רוּם הָבִ֣ין דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וְאִוֶּ֖לֶת כְּסִילִ֣ים מִרְמָֽה׃
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 οικιαι παρανομων οφειλησουσιν καθαρισμον οικιαι δε δικαιων δεκται
ֱ֭וִלִים יָלִ֣יץ אָשָׁ֑ם וּבֵ֖ין יְשָׁרִ֣ים רָצֽוֹן׃
Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
10 καρδια ανδρος αισθητικη λυπηρα ψυχη αυτου οταν δε ευφραινηται ουκ επιμειγνυται υβρει
ֵ֗ב י֭וֹדֵעַ מָרַּ֣ת נַפְשׁ֑וֹ וּ֝בְשִׂמְחָת֗וֹ לֹא־יִתְעָ֥רַב זָֽר׃
The heart knows his own bitterness; and a stranger does not intermeddle with his joy.
11 οικιαι ασεβων αφανισθησονται σκηναι δε κατορθουντων στησονται
ֵּ֣ית רְ֭שָׁעִים יִשָּׁמֵ֑ד וְאֹ֖הֶל יְשָׁרִ֣ים יַפְרִֽיחַ׃
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.
12 εστιν οδος η δοκει ορθη ειναι παρα ανθρωποις τα δε τελευταια αυτης ερχεται εις πυθμενα αδου
ֵ֤שׁ דֶּ֣רֶךְ יָ֭שָׁר לִפְנֵי־אִ֑ישׁ וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ דַּרְכֵי־מָֽוֶת׃
There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
13 εν ευφροσυναις ου προσμειγνυται λυπη τελευταια δε χαρα εις πενθος ερχεται
ַּם־בִּשְׂח֥וֹק יִכְאַב־לֵ֑ב וְאַחֲרִיתָ֖הּ שִׂמְחָ֣ה תוּגָֽה׃
Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that delight is heaviness.
14 των εαυτου οδων πλησθησεται θρασυκαρδιος απο δε των διανοηματων αυτου ανηρ αγαθος
ִדְּרָכָ֣יו יִ֭שְׂבַּע ס֣וּג לֵ֑ב וּ֝מֵעָלָ֗יו אִ֣ישׁ טֽוֹב׃
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
15 ακακος πιστευει παντι λογω πανουργος δε ερχεται εις μετανοιαν
ֶּ֭תִי יַאֲמִ֣ין לְכָל־דָּבָ֑ר וְ֝עָר֗וּם יָבִ֥ין לַאֲשֻׁרֽוֹ׃
The simple believes every word: but the prudent man looks well to his going.
16 σοφος φοβηθεις εξεκλινεν απο κακου ο δε αφρων εαυτω πεποιθως μειγνυται ανομω
ָכָ֣ם יָ֭רֵא וְסָ֣ר מֵרָ֑ע וּ֝כְסִ֗יל מִתְעַבֵּ֥ר וּבוֹטֵֽחַ׃
A wise man fears, and departs from evil: but the fool rages, and is confident.
17 οξυθυμος πρασσει μετα αβουλιας ανηρ δε φρονιμος πολλα υποφερει
ְֽצַר־אַ֭פַּיִם יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה אִוֶּ֑לֶת וְאִ֥ישׁ מְ֝זִמּ֗וֹת יִשָּׂנֵֽא׃
He that is soon angry deals foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
18 μεριουνται αφρονες κακιαν οι δε πανουργοι κρατησουσιν αισθησεως
ָחֲל֣וּ פְתָאיִ֣ם אִוֶּ֑לֶת וַֽ֝עֲרוּמִ֗ים יַכְתִּ֥רוּ דָֽעַת׃
The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 ολισθησουσιν κακοι εναντι αγαθων και ασεβεις θεραπευσουσιν θυρας δικαιων
ַׁח֣וּ רָ֭עִים לִפְנֵ֣י טוֹבִ֑ים וּ֝רְשָׁעִ֗ים עַֽל־שַׁעֲרֵ֥י צַדִּֽיק׃
The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 φιλοι μισησουσιν φιλους πτωχους φιλοι δε πλουσιων πολλοι
ַּם־לְ֭רֵעֵהוּ יִשָּׂ֣נֵא רָ֑שׁ וְאֹהֲבֵ֖י עָשִׁ֣יר רַבִּֽים׃
The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich has many friends.
21 ο ατιμαζων πενητας αμαρτανει ελεων δε πτωχους μακαριστος
ָּז־לְרֵעֵ֥הוּ חוֹטֵ֑א וּמְחוֹנֵ֖ן *עניים **עֲנָוִ֣ים אַשְׁרָֽיו׃
He that despises his neighbour sins: but he that has mercy on the poor, happy is he.
22 πλανωμενοι τεκταινουσι κακα ελεον δε και αληθειαν τεκταινουσιν αγαθοι ουκ επιστανται ελεον και πιστιν τεκτονες κακων ελεημοσυναι δε και πιστεις παρα τεκτοσιν αγαθοις
ֲ‍ֽלוֹא־יִ֭תְעוּ חֹ֣רְשֵׁי רָ֑ע וְחֶ֥סֶד וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת חֹ֣רְשֵׁי טֽוֹב׃
Do they not go astray that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.
23 εν παντι μεριμνωντι ενεστιν περισσον ο δε ηδυς και αναλγητος εν ενδεια εσται
ְּכָל־עֶ֭צֶב יִהְיֶ֣ה מוֹתָ֑ר וּדְבַר־שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם אַךְ־לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tends only to destitution.
24 στεφανος σοφων πανουργος η δε διατριβη αφρονων κακη
ֲטֶ֣רֶת חֲכָמִ֣ים עָשְׁרָ֑ם אִוֶּ֖לֶת כְּסִילִ֣ים אִוֶּֽלֶת׃
The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
25 ρυσεται εκ κακων ψυχην μαρτυς πιστος εκκαιει δε ψευδη δολιος
ַצִּ֣יל נְ֭פָשׁוֹת עֵ֣ד אֱמֶ֑ת וְיָפִ֖חַ כְּזָבִ֣ים מִרְמָֽה׃
A true witness delivers souls: but a deceitful witness speaks lies.
26 εν φοβω κυριου ελπις ισχυος τοις δε τεκνοις αυτου καταλειπει ερεισμα
ְּיִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הוָה מִבְטַח־עֹ֑ז וּ֝לְבָנָ֗יו יִהְיֶ֥ה מַחְסֶֽה׃
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 προσταγμα κυριου πηγη ζωης ποιει δε εκκλινειν εκ παγιδος θανατου
ִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הוָה מְק֣וֹר חַיִּ֑ים לָ֝ס֗וּר מִמֹּ֥קְשֵׁי מָֽוֶת׃
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
28 εν πολλω εθνει δοξα βασιλεως εν δε εκλειψει λαου συντριβη δυναστου
ְּרָב־עָ֥ם הַדְרַת־מֶ֑לֶךְ וּבְאֶ֥פֶס לְ֝אֹ֗ם מְחִתַּ֥ת רָזֽוֹן׃
In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
29 μακροθυμος ανηρ πολυς εν φρονησει ο δε ολιγοψυχος ισχυρως αφρων
ֶ֣רֶךְ אַ֭פַּיִם רַב־תְּבוּנָ֑ה וּקְצַר־ר֝֗וּחַ מֵרִ֥ים אִוֶּֽלֶת׃
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalts folly.
30 πραυθυμος ανηρ καρδιας ιατρος σης δε οστεων καρδια αισθητικη
ַיֵּ֣י בְ֭שָׂרִים לֵ֣ב מַרְפֵּ֑א וּרְקַ֖ב עֲצָמ֣וֹת קִנְאָֽה׃
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
31 ο συκοφαντων πενητα παροξυνει τον ποιησαντα αυτον ο δε τιμων αυτον ελεα πτωχον
ֹ֣שֵֽׁק דָּ֭ל חֵרֵ֣ף עֹשֵׂ֑הוּ וּ֝מְכַבְּד֗וֹ חֹנֵ֥ן אֶבְיֽוֹן׃
He that oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker: but he that honors him has mercy on the poor.
32 εν κακια αυτου απωσθησεται ασεβης ο δε πεποιθως τη εαυτου οσιοτητι δικαιος
ְּֽ֭רָעָתוֹ יִדָּחֶ֣ה רָשָׁ֑ע וְחֹסֶ֖ה בְמוֹת֣וֹ צַדּֽ͏ִיק׃
The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death.
33 εν καρδια αγαθη ανδρος σοφια εν δε καρδια αφρονων ου διαγινωσκεται
ְּלֵ֣ב נָ֭בוֹן תָּנ֣וּחַ חָכְמָ֑ה וּבְקֶ֥רֶב כְּ֝סִילִ֗ים תִּוָּדֵֽעַ׃
Wisdom rests in the heart of him that has understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
34 δικαιοσυνη υψοι εθνος ελασσονουσι δε φυλας αμαρτιαι
ְדָקָ֥ה תְרֽוֹמֵֽם־גּ֑וֹי וְחֶ֖סֶד לְאֻמִּ֣ים חַטָּֽאת׃
Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
35 δεκτος βασιλει υπηρετης νοημων τη δε εαυτου ευστροφια αφαιρειται ατιμιαν
ְֽצוֹן־מֶ֭לֶךְ לְעֶ֣בֶד מַשְׂכִּ֑יל וְ֝עֶבְרָת֗וֹ תִּהְיֶ֥ה מֵבִֽישׁ׃
The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causes shame.
