Eating Blood Forbidden
και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην λεγων
ַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
2 λαλησον προς ααρων και προς τους υιους αυτου και προς παντας υιους ισραηλ και ερεις προς αυτους τουτο το ρημα ο ενετειλατο κυριος λεγων
ַּבֵּ֨ר אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֜ן וְאֶל־בָּנָ֗יו וְאֶל֙ כָּל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם זֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃
Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD has commanded, saying,
3 ανθρωπος ανθρωπος των υιων ισραηλ η των προσηλυτων των προσκειμενων εν υμιν ος αν σφαξη μοσχον η προβατον η αιγα εν τη παρεμβολη και ος αν σφαξη εξω της παρεμβολης
ִ֥ישׁ אִישׁ֙ מִבֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִשְׁחַ֜ט שׁ֥וֹר אוֹ־כֶ֛שֶׂב אוֹ־עֵ֖ז בַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה א֚וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִשְׁחַ֔ט מִח֖וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃
Whosoever there be of the house of Israel, that kills an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that kills it out of the camp,
4 και επι την θυραν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου μη ενεγκη ωστε ποιησαι αυτο εις ολοκαυτωμα η σωτηριον κυριω δεκτον εις οσμην ευωδιας και ος αν σφαξη εξω και επι την θυραν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου μη ενεγκη αυτο ωστε μη προσενεγκαι δωρον κυριω απεναντι της σκηνης κυριου και λογισθησεται τω ανθρωπω εκεινω αιμα αιμα εξεχεεν εξολεθρευθησεται η ψυχη εκεινη εκ του λαου αυτης
ְאֶל־פֶּ֜תַח אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵד֮ לֹ֣א הֱבִיאוֹ֒ לְהַקְרִ֤יב קָרְבָּן֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה לִפְנֵ֖י מִשְׁכַּ֣ן יְהוָ֑ה דָּ֣ם יֵחָשֵׁ֞ב לָאִ֤ישׁ הַהוּא֙ דָּ֣ם שָׁפָ֔ךְ וְנִכְרַ֛ת הָאִ֥ישׁ הַה֖וּא מִקֶּ֥רֶב עַמּֽוֹ׃
And brings it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
5 οπως αναφερωσιν οι υιοι ισραηλ τας θυσιας αυτων οσας αν αυτοι σφαξουσιν εν τοις πεδιοις και οισουσιν τω κυριω επι τας θυρας της σκηνης του μαρτυριου προς τον ιερεα και θυσουσιν θυσιαν σωτηριου τω κυριω αυτα
ְמַעַן֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָבִ֜יאוּ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶֽת־זִבְחֵיהֶם֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֵ֣ם זֹבְחִים֮ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הַשָּׂדֶה֒ וֽ͏ֶהֱבִיאֻ֣ם לַֽיהוָ֗ה אֶל־פֶּ֛תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵ֖ד אֶל־הַכֹּהֵ֑ן וְזָ֨בְח֜וּ זִבְחֵ֧י שְׁלָמִ֛ים לַֽיהוָ֖ה אוֹתָֽם׃
To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD.
6 και προσχεει ο ιερευς το αιμα επι το θυσιαστηριον κυκλω απεναντι κυριου παρα τας θυρας της σκηνης του μαρτυριου και ανοισει το στεαρ εις οσμην ευωδιας κυριω
ְזָרַ֨ק הַכֹּהֵ֤ן אֶת־הַדָּם֙ עַל־מִזְבַּ֣ח יְהוָ֔ה פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְהִקְטִ֣יר הַחֵ֔לֶב לְרֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹ֖חַ לַיהוָֽה׃
And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD.
7 και ου θυσουσιν ετι τας θυσιας αυτων τοις ματαιοις οις αυτοι εκπορνευουσιν οπισω αυτων νομιμον αιωνιον εσται υμιν εις τας γενεας υμων
ְלֹא־יִזְבְּח֥וּ עוֹד֙ אֶת־זִבְחֵיהֶ֔ם לַשְּׂעִירִ֕ם אֲשֶׁ֛ר הֵ֥ם זֹנִ֖ים אַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם חֻקַּ֥ת עוֹלָ֛ם תִּֽהְיֶה־זֹּ֥את לָהֶ֖ם לְדֹרֹתָֽם׃
And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.
8 και ερεις προς αυτους ανθρωπος ανθρωπος των υιων ισραηλ και απο των υιων των προσηλυτων των προσκειμενων εν υμιν ος αν ποιηση ολοκαυτωμα η θυσιαν
ַאֲלֵהֶ֣ם תֹּאמַ֔ר אִ֥ישׁ אִישׁ֙ מִבֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּמִן־הַגֵּ֖ר אֲשֶׁר־יָג֣וּר בְּתוֹכָ֑ם אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲלֶ֥ה עֹלָ֖ה אוֹ־זָֽבַח׃
And you shall say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offers a burnt offering or sacrifice,
9 και επι την θυραν της σκηνης του μαρτυριου μη ενεγκη ποιησαι αυτο τω κυριω εξολεθρευθησεται ο ανθρωπος εκεινος εκ του λαου αυτου
ְאֶל־פֶּ֜תַח אֹ֤הֶל מוֹעֵד֙ לֹ֣א יְבִיאֶ֔נּוּ לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת אֹת֖וֹ לַיהוָ֑ה וְנִכְרַ֛ת הָאִ֥ישׁ הַה֖וּא מֵעַמָּֽיו׃
And brings it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the LORD; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.
10 και ανθρωπος ανθρωπος των υιων ισραηλ η των προσηλυτων των προσκειμενων εν υμιν ος αν φαγη παν αιμα και επιστησω το προσωπον μου επι την ψυχην την εσθουσαν το αιμα και απολω αυτην εκ του λαου αυτης
ְאִ֨ישׁ אִ֜ישׁ מִבֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וּמִן־הַגֵּר֙ הַגָּ֣ר בְּתוֹכָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֹאכַ֖ל כָּל־דָּ֑ם וְנָתַתִּ֣י פָנַ֗י בַּנֶּ֙פֶשׁ֙ הָאֹכֶ֣לֶת אֶת־הַדָּ֔ם וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י אֹתָ֖הּ מִקֶּ֥רֶב עַמָּֽהּ׃
And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eats any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
11 η γαρ ψυχη πασης σαρκος αιμα αυτου εστιν και εγω δεδωκα αυτο υμιν επι του θυσιαστηριου εξιλασκεσθαι περι των ψυχων υμων το γαρ αιμα αυτου αντι της ψυχης εξιλασεται
ִּ֣י נֶ֣פֶשׁ הַבָּשָׂר֮ בַּדָּ֣ם הִוא֒ וַאֲנִ֞י נְתַתִּ֤יו לָכֶם֙ עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ לְכַפֵּ֖ר עַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶ֑ם כִּֽי־הַדָּ֥ם ה֖וּא בַּנֶּ֥פֶשׁ יְכַפֵּֽר׃
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.
12 δια τουτο ειρηκα τοις υιοις ισραηλ πασα ψυχη εξ υμων ου φαγεται αιμα και ο προσηλυτος ο προσκειμενος εν υμιν ου φαγεται αιμα
ַל־כֵּ֤ן אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כָּל־נֶ֥פֶשׁ מִכֶּ֖ם לֹא־תֹ֣אכַל דָּ֑ם וְהַגֵּ֛ר הַגָּ֥ר בְּתוֹכְכֶ֖ם לֹא־יֹ֥אכַל דָּֽם׃ ס
Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourns among you eat blood.
13 και ανθρωπος ανθρωπος των υιων ισραηλ και των προσηλυτων των προσκειμενων εν υμιν ος αν θηρευση θηρευμα θηριον η πετεινον ο εσθεται και εκχεει το αιμα και καλυψει αυτο τη γη
ְאִ֨ישׁ אִ֜ישׁ מִבְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וּמִן־הַגֵּר֙ הַגָּ֣ר בְּתוֹכָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָצ֜וּד צֵ֥יד חַיָּ֛ה אוֹ־ע֖וֹף אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵאָכֵ֑ל וְשָׁפַךְ֙ אֶת־דָּמ֔וֹ וְכִסָּ֖הוּ בֶּעָפָֽר׃
And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunts and catches any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
14 η γαρ ψυχη πασης σαρκος αιμα αυτου εστιν και ειπα τοις υιοις ισραηλ αιμα πασης σαρκος ου φαγεσθε οτι η ψυχη πασης σαρκος αιμα αυτου εστιν πας ο εσθων αυτο εξολεθρευθησεται
ִּֽי־נֶ֣פֶשׁ כָּל־בָּשָׂ֗ר דָּמ֣וֹ בְנַפְשׁוֹ֮ הוּא֒ וָֽאֹמַר֙ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל דַּ֥ם כָּל־בָּשָׂ֖ר לֹ֣א תֹאכֵ֑לוּ כִּ֣י נֶ֤פֶשׁ כָּל־בָּשָׂר֙ דָּמ֣וֹ הִ֔וא כָּל־אֹכְלָ֖יו יִכָּרֵֽת׃
For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, All of you shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eats it shall be cut off.
15 και πασα ψυχη ητις φαγεται θνησιμαιον η θηριαλωτον εν τοις αυτοχθοσιν η εν τοις προσηλυτοις πλυνει τα ιματια αυτου και λουσεται υδατι και ακαθαρτος εσται εως εσπερας και καθαρος εσται
ְכָל־נֶ֗פֶשׁ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תֹּאכַ֤ל נְבֵלָה֙ וּטְרֵפָ֔ה בָּאֶזְרָ֖ח וּבַגֵּ֑ר וְכִבֶּ֨ס בְּגָדָ֜יו וְרָחַ֥ץ בַּמַּ֛יִם וְטָמֵ֥א עַד־הָעֶ֖רֶב וְטָהֵֽר׃
And every soul that eats that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.
16 εαν δε μη πλυνη τα ιματια και το σωμα μη λουσηται υδατι και λημψεται ανομημα αυτου
ְאִם֙ לֹ֣א יְכַבֵּ֔ס וּבְשָׂר֖וֹ לֹ֣א יִרְחָ֑ץ וְנָשָׂ֖א עֲוֺנֽוֹ׃ פ
But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity.
