| 1 | Jonah’s Prayerκαι προσηυξατο ιωνας προς κυριον τον θεον αυτου εκ της κοιλιας του κητουςוַיְמַ֤ן יְהוָה֙ דָּ֣ג גָּד֔וֹל לִבְלֹ֖עַ אֶת־יוֹנָ֑ה וַיְהִ֤י יוֹנָה֙ בִּמְעֵ֣י הַדָּ֔ג שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה יָמִ֖ים וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה לֵילֽוֹת׃ Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, |

| 2 | και ειπεν εβοησα εν θλιψει μου προς κυριον τον θεον μου και εισηκουσεν μου εκ κοιλιας αδου κραυγης μου ηκουσας φωνης μου וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֣ל יוֹנָ֔ה אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהָ֑יו מִמְּעֵ֖י הַדָּגָֽה׃ And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and you heard my voice. |
| 3 | απερριψας με εις βαθη καρδιας θαλασσης και ποταμοι με εκυκλωσαν παντες οι μετεωρισμοι σου και τα κυματα σου επ εμε διηλθον וַיֹּ֗אמֶר קָ֠רָאתִי מִצָּ֥רָה לִ֛י אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑נִי מִבֶּ֧טֶן שְׁא֛וֹל שִׁוַּ֖עְתִּי שָׁמַ֥עְתָּ קוֹלִֽי׃ For you had cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all your billows and your waves passed over me. |
| 4 | και εγω ειπα απωσμαι εξ οφθαλμων σου αρα προσθησω του επιβλεψαι προς τον ναον τον αγιον σου וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵ֤נִי מְצוּלָה֙ בִּלְבַ֣ב יַמִּ֔ים וְנָהָ֖ר יְסֹבְבֵ֑נִי כָּל־מִשְׁבָּרֶ֥יךָ וְגַלֶּ֖יךָ עָלַ֥י עָבָֽרוּ׃ Then I said, I am cast out of your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple. |
| 5 | περιεχυθη υδωρ μοι εως ψυχης αβυσσος εκυκλωσεν με εσχατη εδυ η κεφαλη μου εις σχισμας ορεων וַאֲנִ֣י אָמַ֔רְתִּי נִגְרַ֖שְׁתִּי מִנֶּ֣גֶד עֵינֶ֑יךָ אַ֚ךְ אוֹסִ֣יף לְהַבִּ֔יט אֶל־הֵיכַ֖ל קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃ The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. |
| 6 | κατεβην εις γην ης οι μοχλοι αυτης κατοχοι αιωνιοι και αναβητω φθορα ζωης μου κυριε ο θεος μου אֲפָפ֤וּנִי מַ֙יִם֙ עַד־נֶ֔פֶשׁ תְּה֖וֹם יְסֹבְבֵ֑נִי ס֖וּף חָב֥וּשׁ לְרֹאשִֽׁי׃ I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet have you brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. |
| 7 | εν τω εκλειπειν απ εμου την ψυχην μου του κυριου εμνησθην και ελθοι προς σε η προσευχη μου εις ναον αγιον σου לְקִצְבֵ֤י הָרִים֙ יָרַ֔דְתִּי הָאָ֛רֶץ בְּרִחֶ֥יהָ בַעֲדִ֖י לְעוֹלָ֑ם וַתַּ֧עַל מִשַּׁ֛חַת חַיַּ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽי׃ When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto you, into yours holy temple. |
| 8 | φυλασσομενοι ματαια και ψευδη ελεος αυτων εγκατελιπον בְּהִתְעַטֵּ֤ף עָלַי֙ נַפְשִׁ֔י אֶת־יְהוָ֖ה זָכָ֑רְתִּי וַתָּב֤וֹא אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ תְּפִלָּתִ֔י אֶל־הֵיכַ֖ל קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃ They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. |
| 9 | εγω δε μετα φωνης αινεσεως και εξομολογησεως θυσω σοι οσα ηυξαμην αποδωσω σοι σωτηριου τω κυριω מְשַׁמְּרִ֖ים הַבְלֵי־שָׁ֑וְא חַסְדָּ֖ם יַעֲזֹֽבוּ׃ But I will sacrifice unto you with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. |
| 10 | και προσεταγη τω κητει και εξεβαλεν τον ιωναν επι την ξηραν וַאֲנִ֗י בְּק֤וֹל תּוֹדָה֙ אֶזְבְּחָה־לָּ֔ךְ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָדַ֖רְתִּי אֲשַׁלֵּ֑מָה יְשׁוּעָ֖תָה לַיהוָֽה׃ ס And the LORD spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. |
