| 1 | Jobυπολαβων δε ιωβ λεγειַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ But Job answered and said, |

| 2 | ακουσατε ακουσατε μου των λογων ινα μη η μοι παρ υμων αυτη η παρακλησις ִׁמְע֣וּ שָׁ֭מוֹעַ מִלָּתִ֑י וּתְהִי־זֹ֝֗את תַּנְח֥וּמֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃ Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations. |
| 3 | αρατε με εγω δε λαλησω ειτ ου καταγελασετε μου ָׂ֭אוּנִי וְאָנֹכִ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר וְאַחַ֖ר דַּבְּרִ֣י תַלְעִֽיג׃ Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on. |
| 4 | τι γαρ μη ανθρωπου μου η ελεγξις η δια τι ου θυμωθησομαι ֶ֭אָנֹכִי לְאָדָ֣ם שִׂיחִ֑י וְאִם־מַ֝דּ֗וּעַ לֹא־תִקְצַ֥ר רוּחִֽי׃ As for me, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled? |
| 5 | εισβλεψαντες εις εμε θαυμασατε χειρα θεντες επι σιαγονι ְּנוּ־אֵלַ֥י וְהָשַׁ֑מּוּ וְשִׂ֖ימוּ יָ֣ד עַל־פֶּֽה׃ Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth. |
| 6 | εαν τε γαρ μνησθω εσπουδακα εχουσιν δε μου τας σαρκας οδυναι ְאִם־זָכַ֥רְתִּי וְנִבְהָ֑לְתִּי וְאָחַ֥ז בְּ֝שָׂרִ֗י פַּלָּצֽוּת׃ Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling takes hold on my flesh. |
| 7 | δια τι ασεβεις ζωσιν πεπαλαιωνται δε και εν πλουτω ַדּ֣וּעַ רְשָׁעִ֣ים יִחְי֑וּ עָ֝תְק֗וּ גַּם־גָּ֥בְרוּ חָֽיִל׃ Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power? |
| 8 | ο σπορος αυτων κατα ψυχην τα δε τεκνα αυτων εν οφθαλμοις ַרְעָ֤ם נָכ֣וֹן לִפְנֵיהֶ֣ם עִמָּ֑ם וְ֝צֶאֱצָאֵיהֶ֗ם לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃ Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes. |
| 9 | οι οικοι αυτων ευθηνουσιν φοβος δε ουδαμου μαστιξ δε παρα κυριου ουκ εστιν επ αυτοις ָּתֵּיהֶ֣ם שָׁל֣וֹם מִפָּ֑חַד וְלֹ֤א שֵׁ֖בֶט אֱל֣וֹהַּ עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them. |
| 10 | η βους αυτων ουκ ωμοτοκησεν διεσωθη δε αυτων εν γαστρι εχουσα και ουκ εσφαλεν ׁוֹר֣וֹ עִ֭בַּר וְלֹ֣א יַגְעִ֑ל תְּפַלֵּ֥ט פָּ֝רָת֗וֹ וְלֹ֣א תְשַׁכֵּֽל׃ Their bull genders, and fails not; their cow calves, and casts not her calf. |
| 11 | μενουσιν δε ως προβατα αιωνια τα δε παιδια αυτων προσπαιζουσιν ְשַׁלְּח֣וּ כַ֭צֹּאן עֲוִילֵיהֶ֑ם וְ֝יַלְדֵיהֶ֗ם יְרַקֵּדֽוּן׃ They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance. |
| 12 | αναλαβοντες ψαλτηριον και κιθαραν και ευφραινονται φωνη ψαλμου ִ֭שְׂאוּ כְּתֹ֣ף וְכִנּ֑וֹר וְ֝יִשְׂמְח֗וּ לְק֣וֹל עוּגָֽב׃ They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ. |
| 13 | συνετελεσαν δε εν αγαθοις τον βιον αυτων εν δε αναπαυσει αδου εκοιμηθησαν ?בלו **יְכַלּ֣וּ בַטּ֣וֹב יְמֵיהֶ֑ם וּ֝בְרֶ֗גַע שְׁא֣וֹל יֵחָֽתּוּ׃ They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. |
| 14 | λεγει δε κυριω αποστα απ εμου οδους σου ειδεναι ου βουλομαι ַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לָ֭אֵל ס֣וּר מִמֶּ֑נּוּ וְדַ֥עַת דְּ֝רָכֶ֗יךָ לֹ֣א חָפָֽצְנוּ׃ Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of your ways. |
| 15 | τι ικανος οτι δουλευσομεν αυτω και τις ωφελεια οτι απαντησομεν αυτω ַה־שַׁדַּ֥י כִּֽי־נַֽעַבְדֶ֑נּוּ וּמַה־נּ֝וֹעִ֗יל כִּ֣י נִפְגַּע־בּֽוֹ׃ What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him? |
| 16 | εν χερσιν γαρ ην αυτων τα αγαθα εργα δε ασεβων ουκ εφορα ֵ֤ן לֹ֣א בְיָדָ֣ם טוּבָ֑ם עֲצַ֥ת רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים רָ֣חֲקָה מֶֽנִּי׃ Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me. |
| 17 | ου μην δε αλλα και ασεβων λυχνος σβεσθησεται επελευσεται δε αυτοις η καταστροφη ωδινες δε αυτους εξουσιν απο οργης ַּמָּ֤ה ׀ נֵר־רְשָׁ֘עִ֤ים יִדְעָ֗ךְ וְיָבֹ֣א עָלֵ֣ימוֹ אֵידָ֑ם חֲ֝בָלִ֗ים יְחַלֵּ֥ק בְּאַפּֽוֹ׃ How often is the candle of the wicked put out! and how often comes their destruction upon them! God distributes sorrows in his anger. |
| 18 | εσονται δε ωσπερ αχυρα προ ανεμου η ωσπερ κονιορτος ον υφειλατο λαιλαψ ִהְי֗וּ כְּתֶ֥בֶן לִפְנֵי־ר֑וּחַ וּ֝כְמֹ֗ץ גְּנָבַ֥תּוּ סוּפָֽה׃ They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carries away. |
| 19 | εκλιποι υιους τα υπαρχοντα αυτου ανταποδωσει προς αυτον και γνωσεται ֱל֗וֹהַּ יִצְפֹּן־לְבָנָ֥יו אוֹנ֑וֹ יְשַׁלֵּ֖ם אֵלָ֣יו וְיֵדָֽע׃ God lays up his iniquity for his children: he rewards him, and he shall know it. |
| 20 | ιδοισαν οι οφθαλμοι αυτου την εαυτου σφαγην απο δε κυριου μη διασωθειη ִרְא֣וּ *עינו **עֵינָ֣יו כִּיד֑וֹ וּמֵחֲמַ֖ת שַׁדַּ֣י יִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty. |
| 21 | οτι τι θελημα αυτου εν οικω αυτου μετ αυτον και αριθμοι μηνων αυτου διηρεθησαν ִּ֤י מַה־חֶפְצ֣וֹ בְּבֵית֣וֹ אַחֲרָ֑יו וּמִסְפַּ֖ר חֳדָשָׁ֣יו חֻצָּֽצוּ׃ For what pleasure has he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst? |
| 22 | ποτερον ουχι ο κυριος εστιν ο διδασκων συνεσιν και επιστημην αυτος δε φονους διακρινει ַלְאֵ֥ל יְלַמֶּד־דָּ֑עַת וְ֝ה֗וּא רָמִ֥ים יִשְׁפּֽוֹט׃ Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judges those that are high. |
| 23 | ουτος αποθανειται εν κρατει απλοσυνης αυτου ολος δε ευπαθων και ευθηνων ֶ֗ה יָ֭מוּת בְּעֶ֣צֶם תֻּמּ֑וֹ כֻּ֝לּ֗וֹ שַׁלְאֲנַ֥ן וְשָׁלֵֽיו׃ One dies in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet. |
| 24 | τα δε εγκατα αυτου πληρη στεατος μυελος δε αυτου διαχειται ֲ֭טִינָיו מָלְא֣וּ חָלָ֑ב וּמֹ֖חַ עַצְמוֹתָ֣יו יְשֻׁקֶּֽה׃ His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow. |
| 25 | ο δε τελευτα υπο πικριας ψυχης ου φαγων ουδεν αγαθον ְזֶ֗ה יָ֭מוּת בְּנֶ֣פֶשׁ מָרָ֑ה וְלֹֽא־אָ֝כַ֗ל בַּטּוֹבָֽה׃ And another dies in the bitterness of his soul, and never eats with pleasure. |
| 26 | ομοθυμαδον δε επι γης κοιμωνται σαπρια δε αυτους εκαλυψεν ַ֭חַד עַל־עָפָ֣ר יִשְׁכָּ֑בוּ וְ֝רִמָּ֗ה תְּכַסֶּ֥ה עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them. |
| 27 | ωστε οιδα υμας οτι τολμη επικεισθε μοι ֵ֣ן יָ֭דַעְתִּי מַחְשְׁבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם וּ֝מְזִמּ֗וֹת עָלַ֥י תַּחְמֹֽסוּ׃ Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which all of you wrongfully imagine against me. |
| 28 | οτι ερειτε που εστιν οικος αρχοντος και που εστιν η σκεπη των σκηνωματων των ασεβων ִּ֤י תֹֽאמְר֗וּ אַיֵּ֥ה בֵית־נָדִ֑יב וְ֝אַיֵּ֗ה אֹ֤הֶל ׀ מִשְׁכְּנ֬וֹת רְשָׁעִֽים׃ For all of you say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked? |
| 29 | ερωτησατε παραπορευομενους οδον και τα σημεια αυτων ουκ απαλλοτριωσετε ֲלֹ֣א שְׁ֭אֶלְתֶּם ע֣וֹבְרֵי דָ֑רֶךְ וְ֝אֹתֹתָ֗ם לֹ֣א תְנַכֵּֽרוּ׃ Have all of you not asked them that go by the way? and do all of you not know their tokens, |
| 30 | οτι εις ημεραν απωλειας κουφιζεται ο πονηρος εις ημεραν οργης αυτου απαχθησονται ִּ֤י לְי֣וֹם אֵ֭יד יֵחָ֣שֶׂךְ רָ֑ע לְי֖וֹם עֲבָר֣וֹת יוּבָֽלוּ׃ That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath. |
| 31 | τις απαγγελει επι προσωπου αυτου την οδον αυτου και αυτος εποιησεν τις ανταποδωσει αυτω ִֽי־יַגִּ֣יד עַל־פָּנָ֣יו דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וְהֽוּא־עָ֝שָׂ֗ה מִ֣י יְשַׁלֶּם־לֽוֹ׃ Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he has done? |
| 32 | και αυτος εις ταφους απηνεχθη και επι σορω ηγρυπνησεν ְ֭הוּא לִקְבָר֣וֹת יוּבָ֑ל וְֽעַל־גָּדִ֥ישׁ יִשְׁקֽוֹד׃ Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb. |
| 33 | εγλυκανθησαν αυτω χαλικες χειμαρρου και οπισω αυτου πας ανθρωπος απελευσεται και εμπροσθεν αυτου αναριθμητοι ָֽתְקוּ־ל֗וֹ רִגְבֵ֫י נָ֥חַל וְ֭אַחֲרָיו כָּל־אָדָ֣ם יִמְשׁ֑וֹךְ וּ֝לְפָנָ֗יו אֵ֣ין מִסְפָּֽר׃ The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him. |
| 34 | πως δε παρακαλειτε με κενα το δε εμε καταπαυσασθαι αφ υμων ουδεν ְ֭אֵיךְ תְּנַחֲמ֣וּנִי הָ֑בֶל וּ֝תְשֽׁוּבֹתֵיכֶ֗ם נִשְׁאַר־מָֽעַל׃ ס How then comfort all of you me in vain, seeing in your answers there remains falsehood? |
