1 | ολεκομαι πνευματι φερομενος δεομαι δε ταφης και ου τυγχανω וּחִ֣י חֻ֭בָּלָה יָמַ֥י נִזְעָ֗כוּ קְבָרִ֥ים לִֽי׃ My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me. |

2 | λισσομαι καμνων και τι ποιησας ִם־לֹ֣א הֲ֭תֻלִים עִמָּדִ֑י וּ֝בְהַמְּרוֹתָ֗ם תָּלַ֥ן עֵינִֽי׃ Are there not mockers with me? and does not mine eye continue in their provocation? |
3 | εκλεψαν δε μου τα υπαρχοντα αλλοτριοι τις εστιν ουτος τη χειρι μου συνδεθητω ִֽׂימָה־נָּ֭א עָרְבֵ֣נִי עִמָּ֑ךְ מִֽי ה֝֗וּא לְיָדִ֥י יִתָּקֵֽעַ׃ Lay down now, put me in a guarantor with you; who is he that will shake hands with me? |
4 | οτι καρδιαν αυτων εκρυψας απο φρονησεως δια τουτο ου μη υψωσης αυτους ִּֽי־לִ֭בָּם צָפַ֣נְתָּ מִּשָּׂ֑כֶל עַל־כֵּ֝֗ן לֹ֣א תְרֹמֵֽם׃ For you have hid their heart from understanding: therefore shall you not exalt them. |
5 | τη μεριδι αναγγελει κακιας οφθαλμοι δε μου εφ υιοις ετακησαν ְ֭חֵלֶק יַגִּ֣יד רֵעִ֑ים וְעֵינֵ֖י בָנָ֣יו תִּכְלֶֽנָה׃ He that speaks flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail. |
6 | εθου δε με θρυλημα εν εθνεσιν γελως δε αυτοις απεβην ְֽ֭הִצִּגַנִי לִמְשֹׁ֣ל עַמִּ֑ים וְתֹ֖פֶת לְפָנִ֣ים אֶֽהְיֶֽה׃ He has made me also a byword of the people; and in old times I was as a timbrel. |
7 | πεπωρωνται γαρ απο οργης οι οφθαλμοι μου πεπολιορκημαι μεγαλως υπο παντων ַתֵּ֣כַהּ מִכַּ֣עַשׂ עֵינִ֑י וִֽיצֻרַ֖י כַּצֵּ֣ל כֻּלָּֽם׃ Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow. |
8 | θαυμα εσχεν αληθινους επι τουτω δικαιος δε επι παρανομω επανασταιη ָשֹׁ֣מּוּ יְשָׁרִ֣ים עַל־זֹ֑את וְ֝נָקִ֗י עַל־חָנֵ֥ף יִתְעֹרָֽר׃ Upright men shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite. |
9 | σχοιη δε πιστος την εαυτου οδον καθαρος δε χειρας αναλαβοι θαρσος ְיֹאחֵ֣ז צַדִּ֣יק דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וּֽטֳהָר־יָ֝דַ֗יִם יֹסִ֥יף אֹֽמֶץ׃ The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that has clean hands shall be stronger and stronger. |
10 | ου μην δε αλλα παντες ερειδετε και δευτε δη ου γαρ ευρισκω εν υμιν αληθες ְֽאוּלָ֗ם כֻּלָּ֣ם תָּ֭שֻׁבוּ וּבֹ֣אוּ נָ֑א וְלֹֽא־אֶמְצָ֖א בָכֶ֣ם חָכָֽם׃ But as for you all, do all of you return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you. |
11 | αι ημεραι μου παρηλθον εν βρομω ερραγη δε τα αρθρα της καρδιας μου ָמַ֣י עָ֭בְרוּ זִמֹּתַ֣י נִתְּק֑וּ מ֖וֹרָשֵׁ֣י לְבָבִֽי׃ My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart. |
12 | νυκτα εις ημεραν εθηκαν φως εγγυς απο προσωπου σκοτους ַ֭יְלָה לְי֣וֹם יָשִׂ֑ימוּ א֝֗וֹר קָר֥וֹב מִפְּנֵי־חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness. |
13 | εαν γαρ υπομεινω αδης μου ο οικος εν δε γνοφω εστρωται μου η στρωμνη ִם־אֲ֭קַוֶּה שְׁא֣וֹל בֵּיתִ֑י בַּ֝חֹ֗שֶׁךְ רִפַּ֥דְתִּי יְצוּעָֽי׃ If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness. |
14 | θανατον επεκαλεσαμην πατερα μου ειναι μητερα δε μου και αδελφην σαπριαν ַשַּׁ֣חַת קָ֭רָאתִי אָ֣בִי אָ֑תָּה אִמִּ֥י וַ֝אֲחֹתִ֗י לָֽרִמָּֽה׃ I have said to corruption, You are my father: to the worm, You are my mother, and my sister. |
15 | που ουν μου ετι εστιν η ελπις η τα αγαθα μου οψομαι ְ֭אַיֵּה אֵפ֣וֹ תִקְוָתִ֑י וְ֝תִקְוָתִ֗י מִ֣י יְשׁוּרֶֽנָּה׃ And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it? |
16 | η μετ εμου εις αδην καταβησονται η ομοθυμαδον επι χωματος καταβησομεθα ַּדֵּ֣י שְׁאֹ֣ל תֵּרַ֑דְנָה אִם־יַ֖חַד עַל־עָפָ֣ר נָֽחַת׃ ס They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust. |
