| 1 | Jobυπολαβων δε ιωβ λεγειַיַּ֥עַן אִיּ֗וֹב וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ And Job answered and said, |

| 2 | ειτα υμεις εστε ανθρωποι η μεθ υμων τελευτησει σοφια ָ֭מְנָם כִּ֣י אַתֶּם־עָ֑ם וְ֝עִמָּכֶ֗ם תָּמ֥וּת חָכְמָֽה׃ No doubt but all of you are the people, and wisdom shall die with you. |
| 3 | καμοι μεν καρδια καθ υμας εστιν ַּם־לִ֤י לֵבָ֨ב ׀ כְּֽמוֹכֶ֗ם לֹא־נֹפֵ֣ל אָנֹכִ֣י מִכֶּ֑ם וְאֶת־מִי־אֵ֥ין כְּמוֹ־אֵֽלֶּה׃ But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knows not such things as these? |
| 4 | δικαιος γαρ ανηρ και αμεμπτος εγενηθη εις χλευασμα ְׂחֹ֤ק לְרֵעֵ֨הוּ ׀ אֶֽהְיֶ֗ה קֹרֵ֣א לֶ֭אֱלוֹהַּ וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑הוּ שְׂ֝ח֗וֹק צַדִּ֥יק תָּמִֽים׃ I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calls upon God, and he answers him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn. |
| 5 | εις χρονον γαρ τακτον ητοιμαστο πεσειν υπο αλλους οικους τε αυτου εκπορθεισθαι υπο ανομων ַפִּ֣יד בּ֭וּז לְעַשְׁתּ֣וּת שַׁאֲנָ֑ן נָ֝כ֗וֹן לְמ֣וֹעֲדֵי רָֽגֶל׃ He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease. |
| 6 | ου μην δε αλλα μηδεις πεποιθετω πονηρος ων αθωος εσεσθαι οσοι παροργιζουσιν τον κυριον ως ουχι και ετασις αυτων εσται ִשְׁלָ֤יוּ אֹֽהָלִ֨ים ׀ לְשֹׁ֥דְדִ֗ים וּֽ֭בַטֻּחוֹת לְמַרְגִּ֣יזֵי אֵ֑ל לַאֲשֶׁ֤ר הֵבִ֖יא אֱל֣וֹהַּ בְּיָדֽוֹ׃ The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God brings abundantly. |
| 7 | αλλα δη επερωτησον τετραποδα εαν σοι ειπωσιν πετεινα δε ουρανου εαν σοι απαγγειλωσιν ְֽאוּלָ֗ם שְׁאַל־נָ֣א בְהֵמ֣וֹת וְתֹרֶ֑ךָּ וְע֥וֹף הַ֝שָּׁמַ֗יִם וְיַגֶּד־לָֽךְ׃ But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach you; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell you: |
| 8 | εκδιηγησαι δε γη εαν σοι φραση και εξηγησονται σοι οι ιχθυες της θαλασσης ֤וֹ שִׂ֣יחַ לָאָ֣רֶץ וְתֹרֶ֑ךָּ וִֽיסַפְּר֥וּ לְ֝ךָ֗ דְּגֵ֣י הַיָּֽם׃ Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto you. |
| 9 | τις ουκ εγνω εν πασι τουτοις οτι χειρ κυριου εποιησεν ταυτα ִ֭י לֹא־יָדַ֣ע בְּכָל־אֵ֑לֶּה כִּ֥י יַד־יְ֝הוָה עָ֣שְׂתָה זֹּֽאת׃ Who knows not in all these that the hand of the LORD has wrought this? |
| 10 | ει μη εν χειρι αυτου ψυχη παντων των ζωντων και πνευμα παντος ανθρωπου ֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּ֭יָדוֹ נֶ֣פֶשׁ כָּל־חָ֑י וְ֝ר֗וּחַ כָּל־בְּשַׂר־אִֽישׁ׃ In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. |
| 11 | ους μεν γαρ ρηματα διακρινει λαρυγξ δε σιτα γευεται ֲלֹא־אֹ֭זֶן מִלִּ֣ין תִּבְחָ֑ן וְ֝חֵ֗ךְ אֹ֣כֶל יִטְעַם־לֽוֹ׃ Does not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his food? |
| 12 | εν πολλω χρονω σοφια εν δε πολλω βιω επιστημη ִּֽישִׁישִׁ֥ים חָכְמָ֑ה וְאֹ֖רֶךְ יָמִ֣ים תְּבוּנָֽה׃ With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding. |
| 13 | παρ αυτω σοφια και δυναμις αυτω βουλη και συνεσις ִ֭מּוֹ חָכְמָ֣ה וּגְבוּרָ֑ה ל֝֗וֹ עֵצָ֥ה וּתְבוּנָֽה׃ With him is wisdom and strength, he has counsel and understanding. |
| 14 | εαν καταβαλη τις οικοδομησει εαν κλειση κατα ανθρωπων τις ανοιξει ֵ֣ן יַ֭הֲרוֹס וְלֹ֣א יִבָּנֶ֑ה יִסְגֹּ֥ר עַל־אִ֝֗ישׁ וְלֹ֣א יִפָּתֵֽחַ׃ Behold, he breaks down, and it cannot be built again: he shuts up a man, and there can be no opening. |
| 15 | εαν κωλυση το ωδωρ ξηρανει την γην εαν δε επαφη απωλεσεν αυτην καταστρεψας ֵ֤ן יַעְצֹ֣ר בַּמַּ֣יִם וְיִבָ֑שׁוּ וִֽ֝ישַׁלְּחֵ֗ם וְיַ֖הַפְכוּ אָֽרֶץ׃ Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up: also he sends them out, and they overturn the earth. |
| 16 | παρ αυτω κρατος και ισχυς αυτω επιστημη και συνεσις ִ֭מּוֹ עֹ֣ז וְתֽוּשִׁיָּ֑ה ל֝֗וֹ שֹׁגֵ֥ג וּמַשְׁגֶּֽה׃ With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his. |
| 17 | διαγων βουλευτας αιχμαλωτους κριτας δε γης εξεστησεν וֹלִ֣יךְ יוֹעֲצִ֣ים שׁוֹלָ֑ל וְֽשֹׁפְטִ֥ים יְהוֹלֵֽל׃ He leads counsellors away spoiled, and makes the judges fools. |
| 18 | καθιζανων βασιλεις επι θρονους και περιεδησεν ζωνη οσφυας αυτων וּסַ֣ר מְלָכִ֣ים פִּתֵּ֑חַ וַיֶּאְסֹ֥ר אֵ֝ז֗וֹר בְּמָתְנֵיהֶֽם׃ He looses the bond of kings, and girds their loins with a girdle. |
| 19 | εξαποστελλων ιερεις αιχμαλωτους δυναστας δε γης κατεστρεψεν וֹלִ֣יךְ כֹּהֲנִ֣ים שׁוֹלָ֑ל וְאֵֽתָנִ֣ים יְסַלֵּֽף׃ He leads princes away spoiled, and overthrows the mighty. |
| 20 | διαλλασσων χειλη πιστων συνεσιν δε πρεσβυτερων εγνω ֵסִ֣יר שָׂ֭פָה לְנֶאֱמָנִ֑ים וְטַ֖עַם זְקֵנִ֣ים יִקָּֽח׃ He removes away the speech of the trusty, and takes away the understanding of the aged. |
| 21 | εκχεων ατιμιαν επ αρχοντας ταπεινους δε ιασατο ׁוֹפֵ֣ךְ בּ֭וּז עַל־נְדִיבִ֑ים וּמְזִ֖יחַ אֲפִיקִ֣ים רִפָּֽה׃ He pours contempt upon princes, and weakens the strength of the mighty. |
| 22 | ανακαλυπτων βαθεα εκ σκοτους εξηγαγεν δε εις φως σκιαν θανατου ְגַלֶּ֣ה עֲ֭מֻקוֹת מִנִּי־חֹ֑שֶׁךְ וַיֹּצֵ֖א לָא֣וֹר צַלְמָֽוֶת׃ He discovers deep things out of darkness, and brings out to light the shadow of death. |
| 23 | πλανων εθνη και απολλυων αυτα καταστρωννυων εθνη και καθοδηγων αυτα ַשְׂגִּ֣יא לַ֭גּוֹיִם וַֽיְאַבְּדֵ֑ם שֹׁטֵ֥חַ לַ֝גּוֹיִ֗ם וַיַּנְחֵֽם׃ He increases the nations, and destroys them: he enlarges the nations, and straitens them again. |
| 24 | διαλλασσων καρδιας αρχοντων γης επλανησεν δε αυτους οδω η ουκ ηδεισαν ֵסִ֗יר לֵ֭ב רָאשֵׁ֣י עַם־הָאָ֑רֶץ וַ֝יַּתְעֵ֗ם בְּתֹ֣הוּ לֹא־דָֽרֶךְ׃ He takes away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. |
| 25 | ψηλαφησαισαν σκοτος και μη φως πλανηθειησαν δε ωσπερ ο μεθυων ְמַֽשְׁשׁוּ־חֹ֥שֶׁךְ וְלֹא־א֑וֹר וַ֝יַּתְעֵ֗ם כַּשִּׁכּֽוֹר׃ They grope in the dark without light, and he makes them to stagger like a drunken man. |
