| 1 | ταδε λεγει κυριος ιδου εγω εξεγειρω επι βαβυλωνα και επι τους κατοικουντας χαλδαιους ανεμον καυσωνα διαφθειροντα ֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנְנִי֙ מֵעִ֣יר עַל־בָּבֶ֔ל וְאֶל־יֹשְׁבֵ֖י לֵ֣ב קָמָ֑י ר֖וּחַ מַשְׁחִֽית׃ Thus says the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind; |

| 2 | και εξαποστελω εις βαβυλωνα υβριστας και καθυβρισουσιν αυτην και λυμανουνται την γην αυτης ουαι επι βαβυλωνα κυκλοθεν εν ημερα κακωσεως αυτης ְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֨י לְבָבֶ֤ל ׀ זָרִים֙ וְזֵר֔וּהָ וִיבֹקְק֖וּ אֶת־אַרְצָ֑הּ כִּֽי־הָי֥וּ עָלֶ֛יהָ מִסָּבִ֖יב בְּי֥וֹם רָעָֽה׃ And will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about. |
| 3 | επ αυτην τεινετω ο τεινων το τοξον αυτου και περιθεσθω ω εστιν οπλα αυτω και μη φεισησθε επι νεανισκους αυτης και αφανισατε πασαν την δυναμιν αυτης ֶֽל־יִדְרֹ֤ךְ *ידרך הַדֹּרֵךְ֙ קַשְׁתּ֔וֹ וְאֶל־יִתְעַ֖ל בְּסִרְיֹנ֑וֹ וְאַֽל־תַּחְמְלוּ֙ אֶל־בַּ֣חֻרֶ֔יהָ הַחֲרִ֖ימוּ כָּל־צְבָאָֽהּ׃ Against him that bends let the archer bend his bow, and against him that lifts himself up in his brigandine: and spare all of you not her young men; destroy all of you utterly all her host. |
| 4 | και πεσουνται τραυματιαι εν γη χαλδαιων και κατακεκεντημενοι εξωθεν αυτης ְנָפְל֥וּ חֲלָלִ֖ים בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים וּמְדֻקָּרִ֖ים בְּחוּצוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and they that are thrust through in her streets. |
| 5 | διοτι ουκ εχηρευσεν ισραηλ και ιουδας απο θεου αυτων απο κυριου παντοκρατορος οτι η γη αυτων επλησθη αδικιας απο των αγιων ισραηλ ִּ֠י לֹֽא־אַלְמָ֨ן יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל וִֽיהוּדָה֙ מֵֽאֱלֹהָ֔יו מֵֽיְהוָ֖ה צְבָא֑וֹת כִּ֤י אַרְצָם֙ מָלְאָ֣ה אָשָׁ֔ם מִקְּד֖וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ For Israel has not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel. |
| 6 | φευγετε εκ μεσου βαβυλωνος και ανασωζετε εκαστος την ψυχην αυτου και μη απορριφητε εν τη αδικια αυτης οτι καιρος εκδικησεως αυτης εστιν παρα κυριου ανταποδομα αυτος ανταποδιδωσιν αυτη ֻ֣סוּ ׀ מִתּ֣וֹךְ בָּבֶ֗ל וּמַלְּטוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ נַפְשׁ֔וֹ אַל־תִּדַּ֖מּוּ בַּעֲוֺנָ֑הּ כִּי֩ עֵ֨ת נְקָמָ֥ה הִיא֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה גְּמ֕וּל ה֥וּא מְשַׁלֵּ֖ם לָֽהּ׃ Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence. |
| 7 | ποτηριον χρυσουν βαβυλων εν χειρι κυριου μεθυσκον πασαν την γην απο του οινου αυτης επιοσαν εθνη δια τουτο εσαλευθησαν ּוֹס־זָהָ֤ב בָּבֶל֙ בְּיַד־יְהוָ֔ה מְשַׁכֶּ֖רֶת כָּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ מִיֵּינָהּ֙ שָׁת֣וּ גוֹיִ֔ם עַל־כֵּ֖ן יִתְהֹלְל֥וּ גוֹיִֽם׃ Babylon has been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. |
| 8 | και αφνω επεσεν βαβυλων και συνετριβη θρηνειτε αυτην λαβετε ρητινην τη διαφθορα αυτης ει πως ιαθησεται ִּתְאֹ֛ם נָפְלָ֥ה בָבֶ֖ל וַתִּשָּׁבֵ֑ר הֵילִ֣ילוּ עָלֶ֗יהָ קְח֤וּ צֳרִי֙ לְמַכְאוֹבָ֔הּ אוּלַ֖י תֵּרָפֵֽא׃ Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: wail for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed. |
| 9 | ιατρευσαμεν την βαβυλωνα και ουκ ιαθη εγκαταλιπωμεν αυτην και απελθωμεν εκαστος εις την γην αυτου οτι ηγγισεν εις ουρανον το κριμα αυτης εξηρεν εως των αστρων ?פאנו **רִפִּ֣ינוּ אֶת־בָּבֶל֙ וְלֹ֣א נִרְפָּ֔תָה עִזְב֕וּהָ וְנֵלֵ֖ךְ אִ֣ישׁ לְאַרְצ֑וֹ כִּֽי־נָגַ֤ע אֶל־הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ מִשְׁפָּטָ֔הּ וְנִשָּׂ֖א עַד־שְׁחָקִֽים׃ We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reachs unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies. |
| 10 | εξηνεγκεν κυριος το κριμα αυτου δευτε και αναγγειλωμεν εις σιων τα εργα κυριου θεου ημων וֹצִ֥יא יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־צִדְקֹתֵ֑ינוּ בֹּ֚אוּ וּנְסַפְּרָ֣ה בְצִיּ֔וֹן אֶֽת־מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ The LORD has brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God. |
| 11 | παρασκευαζετε τα τοξευματα πληρουτε τας φαρετρας ηγειρεν κυριος το πνευμα βασιλεως μηδων οτι εις βαβυλωνα η οργη αυτου του εξολεθρευσαι αυτην οτι εκδικησις κυριου εστιν εκδικησις λαου αυτου εστιν ָבֵ֣רוּ הַחִצִּים֮ מִלְא֣וּ הַשְּׁלָטִים֒ הֵעִ֣יר יְהוָ֗ה אֶת־ר֙וּחַ֙ מַלְכֵ֣י מָדַ֔י כִּֽי־עַל־בָּבֶ֥ל מְזִמָּת֖וֹ לְהַשְׁחִיתָ֑הּ כִּֽי־נִקְמַ֤ת יְהוָה֙ הִ֔יא נִקְמַ֖ת הֵיכָלֽוֹ׃ Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD has raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple. |
| 12 | επι τειχεων βαβυλωνος αρατε σημειον επιστησατε φαρετρας εγειρατε φυλακας ετοιμασατε οπλα οτι ενεχειρησεν και ποιησει κυριος α ελαλησεν επι τους κατοικουντας βαβυλωνα ֶל־חוֹמֹ֨ת בָּבֶ֜ל שְׂאוּ־נֵ֗ס הַחֲזִ֙יקוּ֙ הַמִּשְׁמָ֔ר הָקִ֙ימוּ֙ שֹֽׁמְרִ֔ים הָכִ֖ינוּ הָאֹֽרְבִ֑ים כִּ֚י גַּם־זָמַ֣ם יְהוָ֔ה גַּם־עָשָׂ֕ה אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֖ר אֶל־יֹשְׁבֵ֥י בָבֶֽל׃ Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD has both devised and done that which he spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon. |
| 13 | κατασκηνουντας εφ υδασι πολλοις και επι πληθει θησαυρων αυτης ηκει το περας σου αληθως εις τα σπλαγχα σου ?כנתי **שֹׁכַנְתְּ֙ עַל־מַ֣יִם רַבִּ֔ים רַבַּ֖ת אֽוֹצָרֹ֑ת בָּ֥א קִצֵּ֖ךְ אַמַּ֥ת בִּצְעֵֽךְ׃ O you that dwell upon many waters, abundant in treasures, yours end has come, and the measure of your covetousness. |
| 14 | οτι ωμοσεν κυριος κατα του βραχιονος αυτου διοτι πληρωσω σε ανθρωπων ωσει ακριδων και φθεγξονται επι σε οι καταβαινοντες ִשְׁבַּ֛ע יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת בְּנַפְשׁ֑וֹ כִּ֣י אִם־מִלֵּאתִ֤יךְ אָדָם֙ כַּיֶּ֔לֶק וְעָנ֥וּ עָלַ֖יִךְ הֵידָֽד׃ ס The LORD of hosts has sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill you with men, as with caterpillars; and they shall lift up a shout against you. |
| 15 | ποιων γην εν τη ισχυι αυτου ετοιμαζων οικουμενην εν τη σοφια αυτου εν τη συνεσει αυτου εξετεινεν τον ουρανον ֹשֵׂ֥ה אֶ֙רֶץ֙ בְּכֹח֔וֹ מֵכִ֥ין תֵּבֵ֖ל בְּחָכְמָת֑וֹ וּבִתְבוּנָת֖וֹ נָטָ֥ה שָׁמָֽיִם׃ He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and has stretched out the heaven by his understanding. |
| 16 | εις φωνην εθετο ηχος υδατος εν τω ουρανω και ανηγαγεν νεφελας απ εσχατου της γης αστραπας εις υετον εποιησεν και εξηγαγεν φως εκ θησαυρων αυτου ְק֨וֹל תִּתּ֜וֹ הֲמ֥וֹן מַ֙יִם֙ בַּשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַיַּ֥עַל נְשִׂאִ֖ים מִקְצֵה־אָ֑רֶץ בְּרָקִ֤ים לַמָּטָר֙ עָשָׂ֔ה וַיֹּ֥צֵא ר֖וּחַ מֵאֹצְרֹתָֽיו׃ When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causes the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasures. |
| 17 | εμωρανθη πας ανθρωπος απο γνωσεως κατησχυνθη πας χρυσοχοος απο των γλυπτων αυτου οτι ψευδη εχωνευσαν ουκ εστιν πνευμα εν αυτοις ִבְעַ֤ר כָּל־אָדָם֙ מִדַּ֔עַת הֹבִ֥ישׁ כָּל־צֹרֵ֖ף מִפָּ֑סֶל כִּ֛י שֶׁ֥קֶר נִסְכּ֖וֹ וְלֹא־ר֥וּחַ בָּֽם׃ Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. |
| 18 | ματαια εστιν εργα μεμωκημενα εν καιρω επισκεψεως αυτων απολουνται ֶ֣בֶל הֵ֔מָּה מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה תַּעְתֻּעִ֑ים בְּעֵ֥ת פְּקֻדָּתָ֖ם יֹאבֵֽדוּ׃ They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish. |
| 19 | ου τοιαυτη μερις τω ιακωβ οτι ο πλασας τα παντα αυτος εστιν κληρονομια αυτου κυριος ονομα αυτω ֹֽא־כְאֵ֜לֶּה חֵ֣לֶק יַעֲק֗וֹב כִּֽי־יוֹצֵ֤ר הַכֹּל֙ ה֔וּא וְשֵׁ֖בֶט נַחֲלָת֑וֹ יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמֽוֹ׃ ס The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name. |
| 20 | διασκορπιζεις συ μοι σκευη πολεμου και διασκορπιω εν σοι εθνη και εξαρω εκ σου βασιλεις ַפֵּץ־אַתָּ֣ה לִ֔י כְּלֵ֖י מִלְחָמָ֑ה וְנִפַּצְתִּ֤י בְךָ֙ גּוֹיִ֔ם וְהִשְׁחַתִּ֥י בְךָ֖ מַמְלָכֽוֹת׃ You are my battle axe and weapons of war: for with you will I break in pieces the nations, and with you will I destroy kingdoms; |
| 21 | και διασκορπιω εν σοι ιππον και αναβατην αυτου και διασκορπιω εν σοι αρματα και αναβατας αυτων ְנִפַּצְתִּ֣י בְךָ֔ ס֖וּס וְרֹֽכְב֑וֹ וְנִפַּצְתִּ֣י בְךָ֔ רֶ֖כֶב וְרֹכְבֽוֹ׃ And with you will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with you will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider; |
| 22 | και διασκορπιω εν σοι νεανισκον και παρθενον και διασκορπιω εν σοι ανδρα και γυναικα ְנִפַּצְתִּ֤י בְךָ֙ אִ֣ישׁ וְאִשָּׁ֔ה וְנִפַּצְתִּ֥י בְךָ֖ זָקֵ֣ן וָנָ֑עַר וְנִפַּצְתִּ֣י בְךָ֔ בָּח֖וּר וּבְתוּלָֽה׃ With you also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with you will I break in pieces old and young; and with you will I break in pieces the young man and the maid; |
| 23 | και διασκορπιω εν σοι ποιμενα και το ποιμνιον αυτου και διασκορπιω εν σοι γεωργον και το γεωργιον αυτου και διασκορπιω εν σοι ηγεμονας και στρατηγους σου ְנִפַּצְתִּ֤י בְךָ֙ רֹעֶ֣ה וְעֶדְר֔וֹ וְנִפַּצְתִּ֥י בְךָ֖ אִכָּ֣ר וְצִמְדּ֑וֹ וְנִפַּצְתִּ֣י בְךָ֔ פַּח֖וֹת וּסְגָנִֽים׃ I will also break in pieces with you the shepherd and his flock; and with you will I break in pieces the farmer and his yoke of oxen; and with you will I break in pieces captains and rulers. |
| 24 | και ανταποδωσω τη βαβυλωνι και πασι τοις κατοικουσι χαλδαιοις πασας τας κακιας αυτων ας εποιησαν επι σιων κατ οφθαλμους υμων λεγει κυριος ְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֨י לְבָבֶ֜ל וּלְכֹ֣ל ׀ יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י כַשְׂדִּ֗ים אֵ֧ת כָּל־רָעָתָ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־עָשׂ֥וּ בְצִיּ֖וֹן לְעֵֽינֵיכֶ֑ם נְאֻ֖ם יְהוָֽה׃ ס And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, says the LORD. |
| 25 | ιδου εγω προς σε το ορος το διεφθαρμενον το διαφθειρον πασαν την γην και εκτενω την χειρα μου επι σε και κατακυλιω σε απο των πετρων και δωσω σε ως ορος εμπεπυρισμενον ִנְנִ֨י אֵלֶ֜יךָ הַ֤ר הַמַּשְׁחִית֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה הַמַּשְׁחִ֖ית אֶת־כָּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ וְנָטִ֨יתִי אֶת־יָדִ֜י עָלֶ֗יךָ וְגִלְגַּלְתִּ֙יךָ֙ מִן־הַסְּלָעִ֔ים וּנְתַתִּ֖יךָ לְהַ֥ר שְׂרֵפָֽה׃ Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, says the LORD, which destroys all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon you, and roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burnt mountain. |
| 26 | και ου μη λαβωσιν απο σου λιθον εις γωνιαν και λιθον εις θεμελιον οτι εις αφανισμον εις τον αιωνα εση λεγει κυριος ְלֹֽא־יִקְח֤וּ מִמְּךָ֙ אֶ֣בֶן לְפִנָּ֔ה וְאֶ֖בֶן לְמֽוֹסָד֑וֹת כִּֽי־שִׁמְמ֥וֹת עוֹלָ֛ם תִּֽהְיֶ֖ה נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ And they shall not take of you a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but you shall be desolate for ever, says the LORD. |
| 27 | αρατε σημειον επι της γης σαλπισατε εν εθνεσιν σαλπιγγι αγιασατε επ αυτην εθνη παραγγειλατε επ αυτην βασιλειαις αραρατ παρ εμου και τοις ασχαναζαιοις επιστησατε επ αυτην βελοστασεις αναβιβασατε επ αυτην ιππον ως ακριδων πληθος ְׂאוּ־נֵ֣ס בָּאָ֗רֶץ תִּקְע֨וּ שׁוֹפָ֤ר בַּגּוֹיִם֙ קַדְּשׁ֤וּ עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ גּוֹיִ֔ם הַשְׁמִ֧יעוּ עָלֶ֛יהָ מַמְלְכ֥וֹת אֲרָרַ֖ט מִנִּ֣י וְאַשְׁכְּנָ֑ז פִּקְד֤וּ עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ טִפְסָ֔ר הַֽעֲלוּ־ס֖וּס כְּיֶ֥לֶק סָמָֽר׃ Set all of you up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillars. |
| 28 | αγιασατε επ αυτην εθνη τον βασιλεα των μηδων και πασης της γης τους ηγουμενους αυτου και παντας τους στρατηγους αυτου ַדְּשׁ֨וּ עָלֶ֤יהָ גוֹיִם֙ אֶת־מַלְכֵ֣י מָדַ֔י אֶת־פַּחוֹתֶ֖יהָ וְאֶת־כָּל־סְגָנֶ֑יהָ וְאֵ֖ת כָּל־אֶ֥רֶץ מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃ Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion. |
| 29 | εσεισθη η γη και επονεσεν διοτι εξανεστη επι βαβυλωνα λογισμος κυριου του θειναι την γην βαβυλωνος εις αφανισμον και μη κατοικεισθαι αυτην ַתִּרְעַ֥שׁ הָאָ֖רֶץ וַתָּחֹ֑ל כִּ֣י קָ֤מָה עַל־בָּבֶל֙ מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת יְהוָ֔ה לָשׂ֞וּם אֶת־אֶ֧רֶץ בָּבֶ֛ל לְשַׁמָּ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant. |
| 30 | εξελιπεν μαχητης βαβυλωνος του πολεμειν καθησονται εκει εν περιοχη εθραυσθη η δυναστεια αυτων εγενηθησαν ωσει γυναικες ενεπυρισθη τα σκηνωματα αυτης συνετριβησαν οι μοχλοι αυτης ָדְלוּ֩ גִבּוֹרֵ֨י בָבֶ֜ל לְהִלָּחֵ֗ם יָֽשְׁבוּ֙ בַּמְּצָד֔וֹת נָשְׁתָ֥ה גְבוּרָתָ֖ם הָי֣וּ לְנָשִׁ֑ים הִצִּ֥יתוּ מִשְׁכְּנֹתֶ֖יהָ נִשְׁבְּר֥וּ בְרִיחֶֽיהָ׃ The mighty men of Babylon have ceased to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might has failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwelling places; her bars are broken. |
| 31 | διωκων εις απαντησιν διωκοντος διωξεται και αναγγελλων εις απαντησιν αναγγελλοντος του αναγγειλαι τω βασιλει βαβυλωνος οτι εαλωκεν η πολις αυτου ָ֤ץ לִקְרַאת־רָץ֙ יָר֔וּץ וּמַגִּ֖יד לִקְרַ֣את מַגִּ֑יד לְהַגִּיד֙ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל כִּֽי־נִלְכְּדָ֥ה עִיר֖וֹ מִקָּצֶֽה׃ One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to show the king of Babylon that his city is taken at every quarter, |
| 32 | απ εσχατου των διαβασεων αυτου ελημφθησαν και τα συστεματα αυτων ενεπρησαν εν πυρι και ανδρες αυτου οι πολεμισται εξερχονται ְהַמַּעְבָּר֣וֹת נִתְפָּ֔שׂוּ וְאֶת־הָאֲגַמִּ֖ים שָׂרְפ֣וּ בָאֵ֑שׁ וְאַנְשֵׁ֥י הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה נִבְהָֽלוּ׃ ס And that the passages are stopped, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted. |
| 33 | διοτι ταδε λεγει κυριος οικοι βασιλεως βαβυλωνος ως αλων ωριμος αλοηθησονται ετι μικρον και ηξει ο αμητος αυτης ִּי֩ כֹ֨ה אָמַ֜ר יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בַּת־בָּבֶ֕ל כְּגֹ֖רֶן עֵ֣ת הִדְרִיכָ֑הּ ע֣וֹד מְעַ֔ט וּבָ֥אָה עֵֽת־הַקָּצִ֖יר לָֽהּ׃ For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come. |
| 34 | κατεφαγεν με εμερισατο με κατελαβεν με σκευος λεπτον ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλευς βαβυλωνος κατεπιεν με ως δρακων επλησεν την κοιλιαν αυτου απο της τρυφης μου εξωσεν με ?כלנו **אֲכָלַ֣נִי *הממנו **הֲמָמַ֗נִי נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר֮ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶל֒ *הציגנו **הִצִּיגַ֙נִי֙ כְּלִ֣י רִ֔יק *בלענו **בְּלָעַ֙נִי֙ כַּתַּנִּ֔ין מִלָּ֥א כְרֵשׂ֖וֹ מֵֽעֲדָנָ֑י *הדיחנו **הֱדִיחָֽנִי׃ Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me, he has crushed me, he has made me an empty vessel, he has swallowed me up like a dragon, he has filled his belly with my delicates, he has cast me out. |
| 35 | οι μοχθοι μου και αι ταλαιπωριαι μου εις βαβυλωνα ερει κατοικουσα σιων και το αιμα μου επι τους κατοικουντας χαλδαιους ερει ιερουσαλημ ֲמָסִ֤י וּשְׁאֵרִי֙ עַל־בָּבֶ֔ל תֹּאמַ֖ר יֹשֶׁ֣בֶת צִיּ֑וֹן וְדָמִי֙ אֶל־יֹשְׁבֵ֣י כַשְׂדִּ֔ים תֹּאמַ֖ר יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ ס The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and my blood upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say. |
| 36 | δια τουτο ταδε λεγει κυριος ιδου εγω κρινω την αντιδικον σου και εκδικησω την εκδικησιν σου και ερημωσω την θαλασσαν αυτης και ξηρανω την πηγην αυτης ָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הִנְנִי־רָב֙ אֶת־רִיבֵ֔ךְ וְנִקַּמְתִּ֖י אֶת־נִקְמָתֵ֑ךְ וְהַחֲרַבְתִּי֙ אֶת־יַמָּ֔הּ וְהֹבַשְׁתִּ֖י אֶת־מְקוֹרָֽהּ׃ Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry. |
| 37 | και εσται βαβυλων εις αφανισμον και ου κατοικηθησεται ְהָיְתָה֩ בָבֶ֨ל ׀ לְגַלִּ֧ים ׀ מְעוֹן־תַּנִּ֛ים שַׁמָּ֥ה וּשְׁרֵקָ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwelling place for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant. |
| 38 | αμα ως λεοντες εξηγερθησαν και ως σκυμνοι λεοντων ַחְדָּ֖ו כַּכְּפִרִ֣ים יִשְׁאָ֑גוּ נָעֲר֖וּ כְּגוֹרֵ֥י אֲרָיֽוֹת׃ They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions' whelps. |
| 39 | εν τη θερμασια αυτων δωσω ποτημα αυτοις και μεθυσω αυτους οπως καρωθωσιν και υπνωσωσιν υπνον αιωνιον και ου μη εγερθωσι λεγει κυριος ְּחֻמָּ֞ם אָשִׁ֣ית אֶת־מִשְׁתֵּיהֶ֗ם וְהִשְׁכַּרְתִּים֙ לְמַ֣עַן יַעֲלֹ֔זוּ וְיָשְׁנ֥וּ שְׁנַת־עוֹלָ֖ם וְלֹ֣א יָקִ֑יצוּ נְאֻ֖ם יְהוָֽה׃ In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, says the LORD. |
| 40 | καταβιβασω αυτους ως αρνας εις σφαγην και ως κριους μετ εριφων ֽוֹרִידֵ֖ם כְּכָרִ֣ים לִטְב֑וֹחַ כְּאֵילִ֖ים עִם־עַתּוּדִֽים׃ I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he goats. |
| 41 | πως εαλω και εθηρευθη το καυχημα πασης της γης πως εγενετο βαβυλων εις αφανισμον εν τοις εθνεσιν ֵ֚יךְ נִלְכְּדָ֣ה שֵׁשַׁ֔ךְ וַתִּתָּפֵ֖שׂ תְּהִלַּ֣ת כָּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ אֵ֣יךְ הָיְתָ֧ה לְשַׁמָּ֛ה בָּבֶ֖ל בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations! |
| 42 | ανεβη επι βαβυλωνα η θαλασσα εν ηχω κυματων αυτης και κατεκαλυφθη ָלָ֥ה עַל־בָּבֶ֖ל הַיָּ֑ם בַּהֲמ֥וֹן גַּלָּ֖יו נִכְסָֽתָה׃ The sea has come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof. |
| 43 | εγενηθησαν αι πολεις αυτης γη ανυδρος και αβατος ου κατοικησει εν αυτη ουδε εις ουδε μη καταλυση εν αυτη υιος ανθρωπου ָי֤וּ עָרֶ֙יהָ֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה אֶ֖רֶץ צִיָּ֣ה וַעֲרָבָ֑ה אֶ֗רֶץ לֹֽא־יֵשֵׁ֤ב בָּהֵן֙ כָּל־אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹֽא־יַעֲבֹ֥ר בָּהֵ֖ן בֶּן־אָדָֽם׃ Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwells, neither does any son of man pass thereby. |
| 44 | και εκδικησω επι βαβυλωνα και εξοισω α κατεπιεν εκ του στοματος αυτης και ου μη συναχθωσιν προς αυτην ετι τα εθνη ּפָקַדְתִּ֨י עַל־בֵּ֜ל בְּבָבֶ֗ל וְהֹצֵאתִ֤י אֶת־בִּלְעוֹ֙ מִפִּ֔יו וְלֹֽא־יִנְהֲר֥וּ אֵלָ֛יו ע֖וֹד גּוֹיִ֑ם גַּם־חוֹמַ֥ת בָּבֶ֖ל נָפָֽלָה׃ And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he has swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall. |
| 45 | ְא֤וּ מִתּוֹכָהּ֙ עַמִּ֔י וּמַלְּט֖וּ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־נַפְשׁ֑וֹ מֵחֲר֖וֹן אַף־יְהוָֽה׃ My people, go all of you out of the midst of her, and deliver all of you every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD. |
| 46 | ּפֶן־יֵרַ֤ךְ לְבַבְכֶם֙ וְתִֽירְא֔וּ בַּשְּׁמוּעָ֖ה הַנִּשְׁמַ֣עַת בָּאָ֑רֶץ וּבָ֧א בַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁמוּעָ֗ה וְאַחֲרָ֤יו בַּשָּׁנָה֙ הַשְּׁמוּעָ֔ה וְחָמָ֣ס בָּאָ֔רֶץ וּמֹשֵׁ֖ל עַל־מֹשֵֽׁל׃ And lest your heart faint, and all of you fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler. |
| 47 | ָכֵן֙ הִנֵּ֣ה יָמִ֣ים בָּאִ֔ים וּפָקַדְתִּי֙ עַל־פְּסִילֵ֣י בָבֶ֔ל וְכָל־אַרְצָ֖הּ תֵּב֑וֹשׁ וְכָל־חֲלָלֶ֖יהָ יִפְּל֥וּ בְתוֹכָֽהּ׃ Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her. |
| 48 | ְרִנְּנ֤וּ עַל־בָּבֶל֙ שָׁמַ֣יִם וָאָ֔רֶץ וְכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּהֶ֑ם כִּ֧י מִצָּפ֛וֹן יָבוֹא־לָ֥הּ הַשּׁוֹדְדִ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, says the LORD. |
| 49 | και εν βαβυλωνι πεσουνται τραυματιαι πασης της γης ַּם־בָּבֶ֕ל לִנְפֹּ֖ל חַֽלְלֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל גַּם־לְבָבֶ֥ל נָפְל֖וּ חַֽלְלֵ֥י כָל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ As Babylon has caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth. |
| 50 | ανασωζομενοι εκ γης πορευεσθε και μη ιστασθε οι μακροθεν μνησθητε του κυριου και ιερουσαλημ αναβητω επι την καρδιαν υμων ְּלֵטִ֣ים מֵחֶ֔רֶב הִלְכ֖וּ אַֽל־תַּעֲמֹ֑דוּ זִכְר֤וּ מֵֽרָחוֹק֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה וִירֽוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם תַּעֲלֶ֥ה עַל־לְבַבְכֶֽם׃ All of you that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD far off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind. |
| 51 | ησχυνθημεν οτι ηκουσαμεν ονειδισμον ημων κατεκαλυψεν ατιμια το προσωπον ημων εισηλθον αλλογενεις εις τα αγια ημων εις οικον κυριου ֹּ֚שְׁנוּ כִּֽי־שָׁמַ֣עְנוּ חֶרְפָּ֔ה כִּסְּתָ֥ה כְלִמָּ֖ה פָּנֵ֑ינוּ כִּ֚י בָּ֣אוּ זָרִ֔ים עַֽל־מִקְדְּשֵׁ֖י בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃ ס We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame has covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD's house. |
| 52 | δια τουτο ιδου ημεραι ερχονται λεγει κυριος και εκδικησω επι τα γλυπτα αυτης και εν παση τη γη αυτης πεσουνται τραυματιαι ָכֵ֞ן הִנֵּֽה־יָמִ֤ים בָּאִים֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה וּפָקַדְתִּ֖י עַל־פְּסִילֶ֑יהָ וּבְכָל־אַרְצָ֖הּ יֶאֱנֹ֥ק חָלָֽל׃ Wherefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the wounded shall groan. |
| 53 | οτι εαν αναβη βαβυλων ως ο ουρανος και οτι εαν οχυρωση υψος ισχυος αυτης παρ εμου ηξουσιν εξολεθρευοντες αυτην λεγει κυριος ִּֽי־תַעֲלֶ֤ה בָבֶל֙ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְכִ֥י תְבַצֵּ֖ר מְר֣וֹם עֻזָּ֑הּ מֵאִתִּ֗י יָבֹ֧אוּ שֹׁדְדִ֛ים לָ֖הּ נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ ס Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, says the LORD. |
| 54 | φωνη κραυγης εν βαβυλωνι και συντριβη μεγαλη εν γη χαλδαιων ֥וֹל זְעָקָ֖ה מִבָּבֶ֑ל וְשֶׁ֥בֶר גָּד֖וֹל מֵאֶ֥רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּֽים׃ A sound of a cry comes from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans: |
| 55 | οτι εξωλεθρευσεν κυριος την βαβυλωνα και απωλεσεν απ αυτης φωνην μεγαλην ηχουσαν ως υδατα πολλα εδωκεν εις ολεθρον φωνην αυτης ִּֽי־שֹׁדֵ֤ד יְהוָה֙ אֶת־בָּבֶ֔ל וְאִבַּ֥ד מִמֶּ֖נָּה ק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל וְהָמ֤וּ גַלֵּיהֶם֙ כְּמַ֣יִם רַבִּ֔ים נִתַּ֥ן שְׁא֖וֹן קוֹלָֽם׃ Because the LORD has spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered: |
| 56 | οτι ηλθεν επι βαβυλωνα ταλαιπωρια εαλωσαν οι μαχηται αυτης επτοηται το τοξον αυτων οτι θεος ανταποδιδωσιν αυτοις κυριος ανταποδιδωσιν αυτη την ανταποδοσιν ִּי֩ בָ֨א עָלֶ֤יהָ עַל־בָּבֶל֙ שׁוֹדֵ֔ד וְנִלְכְּדוּ֙ גִּבּוֹרֶ֔יהָ חִתְּתָ֖ה קַשְּׁתוֹתָ֑ם כִּ֣י אֵ֧ל גְּמֻל֛וֹת יְהוָ֖ה שַׁלֵּ֥ם יְשַׁלֵּֽם׃ Because the spoiler has come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite. |
| 57 | και μεθυσει μεθη τους ηγεμονας αυτης και τους σοφους αυτης και τους στρατηγους αυτης λεγει ο βασιλευς κυριος παντοκρατωρ ονομα αυτω ְ֠הִשְׁכַּרְתִּי שָׂרֶ֨יהָ וַחֲכָמֶ֜יהָ פַּחוֹתֶ֤יהָ וּסְגָנֶ֙יהָ֙ וְגִבּוֹרֶ֔יהָ וְיָשְׁנ֥וּ שְׁנַת־עוֹלָ֖ם וְלֹ֣א יָקִ֑יצוּ נְאֻ֨ם־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמֽוֹ׃ ס And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, says the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts. |
| 58 | ταδε λεγει κυριος τειχος βαβυλωνος επλατυνθη κατασκαπτομενον κατασκαφησεται και αι πυλαι αυτης αι υψηλαι εμπυρισθησονται και ου κοπιασουσιν λαοι εις κενον και εθνη εν αρχη εκλειψουσιν ֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת חֹ֠מוֹת בָּבֶ֤ל הָֽרְחָבָה֙ עַרְעֵ֣ר תִּתְעַרְעָ֔ר וּשְׁעָרֶ֥יהָ הַגְּבֹהִ֖ים בָּאֵ֣שׁ יִצַּ֑תּוּ וְיִֽגְע֨וּ עַמִּ֧ים בְּדֵי־רִ֛יק וּלְאֻמִּ֥ים בְּדֵי־אֵ֖שׁ וְיָעֵֽפוּ׃ ס Thus says the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary. |
| 59 | ο λογος ον ενετειλατο κυριος ιερεμια τω προφητη ειπειν τω σαραια υιω νηριου υιου μαασαιου οτε επορευετο παρα σεδεκιου βασιλεως ιουδα εις βαβυλωνα εν τω ετει τω τεταρτω της βασιλειας αυτου και σαραιας αρχων δωρων ַדָּבָ֞ר אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֣ה ׀ יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ הַנָּבִ֗יא אֶת־שְׂרָיָ֣ה בֶן־נֵרִיָּה֮ בֶּן־מַחְסֵיָה֒ בְּלֶכְתּ֞וֹ אֶת־צִדְקִיָּ֤הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָה֙ בָּבֶ֔ל בִּשְׁנַ֥ת הָרְבִעִ֖ית לְמָלְכ֑וֹ וּשְׂרָיָ֖ה שַׂ֥ר מְנוּחָֽה׃ The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince. |
| 60 | και εγραψεν ιερεμιας παντα τα κακα α ηξει επι βαβυλωνα εν βιβλιω ενι παντας τους λογους τουτους τους γεγραμμενους επι βαβυλωνα ַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ אֵ֧ת כָּל־הָרָעָ֛ה אֲשֶׁר־תָּב֥וֹא אֶל־בָּבֶ֖ל אֶל־סֵ֣פֶר אֶחָ֑ד אֵ֚ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה הַכְּתֻבִ֖ים אֶל־בָּבֶֽל׃ So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon. |
| 61 | και ειπεν ιερεμιας προς σαραιαν οταν ελθης εις βαβυλωνα και οψη και αναγνωση παντας τους λογους τουτους ַיֹּ֥אמֶר יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ אֶל־שְׂרָיָ֑ה כְּבֹאֲךָ֣ בָבֶ֔ל וְֽרָאִ֔יתָ וְֽקָרָ֔אתָ אֵ֥ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When you come to Babylon, and shall see, and shall read all these words; |
| 62 | και ερεις κυριε κυριε συ ελαλησας επι τον τοπον τουτον του εξολεθρευσαι αυτον και του μη ειναι εν αυτω κατοικουντας απο ανθρωπου εως κτηνους οτι αφανισμος εις τον αιωνα εσται ְאָמַרְתָּ֗ יְהוָה֙ אַתָּ֨ה דִבַּ֜רְתָּ אֶל־הַמָּק֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ לְהַכְרִית֔וֹ לְבִלְתִּ֤י הֱיֽוֹת־בּוֹ֙ יוֹשֵׁ֔ב לְמֵאָדָ֖ם וְעַד־בְּהֵמָ֑ה כִּֽי־שִׁמְמ֥וֹת עוֹלָ֖ם תִּֽהְיֶֽה׃ Then shall you say, O LORD, you have spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever. |
| 63 | και εσται οταν παυση του αναγινωσκειν το βιβλιον τουτο και επιδησεις επ αυτο λιθον και ριψεις αυτο εις μεσον του ευφρατου ְהָיָה֙ כְּכַלֹּ֣תְךָ֔ לִקְרֹ֖א אֶת־הַסֵּ֣פֶר הַזֶּ֑ה תִּקְשֹׁ֤ר עָלָיו֙ אֶ֔בֶן וְהִשְׁלַכְתּ֖וֹ אֶל־תּ֥וֹךְ פְּרָֽת׃ And it shall be, when you have made an end of reading this book, that you shall bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates: |
| 64 | και ερεις ουτως καταδυσεται βαβυλων και ου μη αναστη απο προσωπου των κακων ων εγω επαγω επ αυτην ְאָמַרְתָּ֗ כָּ֠כָה תִּשְׁקַ֨ע בָּבֶ֤ל וְלֹֽא־תָקוּם֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י הָרָעָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָנֹכִ֛י מֵבִ֥יא עָלֶ֖יהָ וְיָעֵ֑פוּ עַד־הֵ֖נָּה דִּבְרֵ֥י יִרְמְיָֽהוּ׃ ס And you shall say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah. |
