| 1 | A Message About Babylonλογος κυριου ον ελαλησεν επι βαβυλωναַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־בָּבֶ֖ל אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים בְּיַ֖ד יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִֽיא׃ The word that the LORD spoke against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet. |

| 2 | αναγγειλατε εν τοις εθνεσιν και ακουστα ποιησατε και μη κρυψητε ειπατε εαλωκεν βαβυλων κατησχυνθη βηλος η απτοητος η τρυφερα παρεδοθη μαρωδαχ ַגִּ֨ידוּ בַגּוֹיִ֤ם וְהַשְׁמִ֙יעוּ֙ וּֽשְׂאוּ־נֵ֔ס הַשְׁמִ֖יעוּ אַל־תְּכַחֵ֑דוּ אִמְרוּ֩ נִלְכְּדָ֨ה בָבֶ֜ל הֹבִ֥ישׁ בֵּל֙ חַ֣ת מְרֹדָ֔ךְ הֹבִ֣ישׁוּ עֲצַבֶּ֔יהָ חַ֖תּוּ גִּלּוּלֶֽיהָ׃ Declare all of you among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces. |
| 3 | οτι ανεβη επ αυτην εθνος απο βορρα ουτος θησει την γην αυτης εις αφανισμον και ουκ εσται ο κατοικων εν αυτη απο ανθρωπου και εως κτηνους ִּ֣י עָלָה֩ עָלֶ֨יהָ גּ֜וֹי מִצָּפ֗וֹן הֽוּא־יָשִׁ֤ית אֶת־אַרְצָהּ֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה וְלֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֥ה יוֹשֵׁ֖ב בָּ֑הּ מֵאָדָ֥ם וְעַד־בְּהֵמָ֖ה נָ֥דוּ הָלָֽכוּ׃ For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast. |
| 4 | εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις και εν τω καιρω εκεινω ηξουσιν οι υιοι ισραηλ αυτοι και οι υιοι ιουδα επι το αυτο βαδιζοντες και κλαιοντες πορευσονται τον κυριον θεον αυτων ζητουντες ַּיָּמִ֨ים הָהֵ֜מָּה וּבָעֵ֤ת הַהִיא֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה יָבֹ֧אוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל הֵ֥מָּה וּבְנֵֽי־יְהוּדָ֖ה יַחְדָּ֑ו הָל֤וֹךְ וּבָכוֹ֙ יֵלֵ֔כוּ וְאֶת־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם יְבַקֵּֽשׁוּ׃ In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God. |
| 5 | εως σιων ερωτησουσιν την οδον ωδε γαρ το προσωπον αυτων δωσουσιν και ηξουσιν και καταφευξονται προς κυριον τον θεον διαθηκη γαρ αιωνιος ουκ επιλησθησεται ִיּ֣וֹן יִשְׁאָ֔לוּ דֶּ֖רֶךְ הֵ֣נָּה פְנֵיהֶ֑ם בֹּ֚אוּ וְנִלְו֣וּ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה בְּרִ֥ית עוֹלָ֖ם לֹ֥א תִשָּׁכֵֽחַ׃ ס They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces in that direction, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten. |
| 6 | προβατα απολωλοτα εγενηθη ο λαος μου οι ποιμενες αυτων εξωσαν αυτους επι τα ορη απεπλανησαν αυτους εξ ορους επι βουνον ωχοντο επελαθοντο κοιτης αυτων ֹ֤אן אֹֽבְדוֹת֙ *היה **הָי֣וּ עַמִּ֔י רֹעֵיהֶ֣ם הִתְע֔וּם הָרִ֖ים *שובבים **שֽׁוֹבְב֑וּם מֵהַ֤ר אֶל־גִּבְעָה֙ הָלָ֔כוּ שָׁכְח֖וּ רִבְצָֽם׃ My people has been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place. |
| 7 | παντες οι ευρισκοντες αυτους καταναλισκον αυτους οι εχθροι αυτων ειπαν μη ανωμεν αυτους ανθ ων ημαρτον τω κυριω νομη δικαιοσυνης τω συναγαγοντι τους πατερας αυτων ָּל־מוֹצְאֵיהֶ֣ם אֲכָל֔וּם וְצָרֵיהֶ֥ם אָמְר֖וּ לֹ֣א נֶאְשָׁ֑ם תַּ֗חַת אֲשֶׁ֨ר חָטְא֤וּ לַֽיהוָה֙ נְוֵה־צֶ֔דֶק וּמִקְוֵ֥ה אֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם יְהוָֽה׃ ס All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers. |
| 8 | απαλλοτριωθητε εκ μεσου βαβυλωνος και απο γης χαλδαιων και εξελθατε και γενεσθε ωσπερ δρακοντες κατα προσωπον προβατων ֻ֚דוּ מִתּ֣וֹךְ בָּבֶ֔ל וּמֵאֶ֥רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים *יצאו **צֵ֑אוּ וִהְי֕וּ כְּעַתּוּדִ֖ים לִפְנֵי־צֹֽאן׃ Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks. |
| 9 | οτι ιδου εγω εγειρω επι βαβυλωνα συναγωγας εθνων εκ γης βορρα και παραταξονται αυτη εκειθεν αλωσεται ως βολις μαχητου συνετου ουκ επιστρεψει κενη ִּ֣י הִנֵּ֣ה אָנֹכִ֡י מֵעִיר֩ וּמַעֲלֶ֨ה עַל־בָּבֶ֜ל קְהַל־גּוֹיִ֤ם גְּדֹלִים֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֔וֹן וְעָ֣רְכוּ לָ֔הּ מִשָּׁ֖ם תִּלָּכֵ֑ד חִצָּיו֙ כְּגִבּ֣וֹר מַשְׁכִּ֔יל לֹ֥א יָשׁ֖וּב רֵיקָֽם׃ For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain. |
| 10 | και εσται η χαλδαια εις προνομην παντες οι προνομευοντες αυτην εμπλησθησονται ְהָיְתָ֥ה כַשְׂדִּ֖ים לְשָׁלָ֑ל כָּל־שֹׁלְלֶ֥יהָ יִשְׂבָּ֖עוּ נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, says the LORD. |
| 11 | οτι ηυφραινεσθε και κατεκαυχασθε διαρπαζοντες την κληρονομιαν μου διοτι εσκιρτατε ως βοιδια εν βοτανη και εκερατιζετε ως ταυροι ִּ֤י *תשמחי **תִשְׂמְחוּ֙ כִּ֣י *תעלזי **תַֽעֲלְז֔וּ שֹׁסֵ֖י נַחֲלָתִ֑י כִּ֤י *תפושי **תָפ֙וּשׁוּ֙ כְּעֶגְלָ֣ה דָשָׁ֔ה *ותצהלי **וְתִצְהֲל֖וּ כָּאֲבִּרִֽים׃ Because all of you were glad, because all of you rejoiced, O all of you destroyers of mine heritage, because all of you are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls; |
| 12 | ησχυνθη η μητηρ υμων σφοδρα μητηρ επ αγαθα εσχατη εθνων ερημος ּ֤וֹשָׁה אִמְּכֶם֙ מְאֹ֔ד חָפְרָ֖ה יֽוֹלַדְתְּכֶ֑ם הִנֵּה֙ אַחֲרִ֣ית גּוֹיִ֔ם מִדְבָּ֖ר צִיָּ֥ה וַעֲרָבָֽה׃ Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert. |
| 13 | απο οργης κυριου ου κατοικηθησεται και εσται εις αφανισμον πασα και πας ο διοδευων δια βαβυλωνος σκυθρωπασει και συριουσιν επι πασαν την πληγην αυτης ִקֶּ֤צֶף יְהוָה֙ לֹ֣א תֵשֵׁ֔ב וְהָיְתָ֥ה שְׁמָמָ֖ה כֻּלָּ֑הּ כֹּ֚ל עֹבֵ֣ר עַל־בָּבֶ֔ל יִשֹּׁ֥ם וְיִשְׁרֹ֖ק עַל־כָּל־מַכּוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues. |
| 14 | παραταξασθε επι βαβυλωνα κυκλω παντες τεινοντες τοξον τοξευσατε επ αυτην μη φεισησθε επι τοις τοξευμασιν υμων ִרְכ֨וּ עַל־בָּבֶ֤ל ׀ סָבִיב֙ כָּל־דֹּ֣רְכֵי קֶ֔שֶׁת יְד֣וּ אֵלֶ֔יהָ אַֽל־תַּחְמְל֖וּ אֶל־חֵ֑ץ כִּ֥י לַֽיהוָ֖ה חָטָֽאָה׃ Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all you that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she has sinned against the LORD. |
| 15 | κατακροτησατε επ αυτην παρελυθησαν αι χειρες αυτης επεσαν αι επαλξεις αυτης και κατεσκαφη το τειχος αυτης οτι εκδικησις παρα θεου εστιν εκδικειτε επ αυτην καθως εποιησεν ποιησατε αυτη ָרִ֨יעוּ עָלֶ֤יהָ סָבִיב֙ נָתְנָ֣ה יָדָ֔הּ נָֽפְלוּ֙ *אשויתיה **אָשְׁיוֹתֶ֔יהָ נֶהֶרְס֖וּ חֽוֹמוֹתֶ֑יהָ כִּי֩ נִקְמַ֨ת יְהוָ֥ה הִיא֙ הִנָּ֣קְמוּ בָ֔הּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשְׂתָ֖ה עֲשׂוּ־לָֽהּ׃ Shout against her round about: she has given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she has done, do unto her. |
| 16 | εξολεθρευσατε σπερμα εκ βαβυλωνος κατεχοντα δρεπανον εν καιρω θερισμου απο προσωπου μαχαιρας ελληνικης εκαστος εις τον λαον αυτου αποστρεψουσιν και εκαστος εις την γην αυτου φευξεται ִּרְת֤וּ זוֹרֵ֙עַ֙ מִבָּבֶ֔ל וְתֹפֵ֥שׂ מַגָּ֖ל בְּעֵ֣ת קָצִ֑יר מִפְּנֵי֙ חֶ֣רֶב הַיּוֹנָ֔ה אִ֤ישׁ אֶל־עַמּוֹ֙ יִפְנ֔וּ וְאִ֥ישׁ לְאַרְצ֖וֹ יָנֻֽסוּ׃ ס Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handles the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land. |
| 17 | προβατον πλανωμενον ισραηλ λεοντες εξωσαν αυτον ο πρωτος εφαγεν αυτον βασιλευς ασσουρ και ουτος υστερον τα οστα αυτου βασιλευς βαβυλωνος ֶׂ֧ה פְזוּרָ֛ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֲרָי֣וֹת הִדִּ֑יחוּ הָרִאשׁ֤וֹן אֲכָלוֹ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֔וּר וְזֶ֤ה הָאַחֲרוֹן֙ עִצְּמ֔וֹ נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֖ר מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶֽל׃ ס Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria has devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones. |
| 18 | δια τουτο ταδε λεγει κυριος ιδου εγω εκδικω επι τον βασιλεα βαβυλωνος και επι την γην αυτου καθως εξεδικησα επι τον βασιλεα ασσουρ ָכֵ֗ן כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הִנְנִ֥י פֹקֵ֛ד אֶל־מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל וְאֶל־אַרְצ֑וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּקַ֖דְתִּי אֶל־מֶ֥לֶךְ אַשּֽׁוּר׃ Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria. |
| 19 | και αποκαταστησω τον ισραηλ εις την νομην αυτου και νεμησεται εν τω καρμηλω και εν ορει εφραιμ και εν τω γαλααδ και πλησθησεται η ψυχη αυτου ְשֹׁבַבְתִּ֤י אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־נָוֵ֔הוּ וְרָעָ֥ה הַכַּרְמֶ֖ל וְהַבָּשָׁ֑ן וּבְהַ֥ר אֶפְרַ֛יִם וְהַגִּלְעָ֖ד תִּשְׂבַּ֥ע נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead. |
| 20 | εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις και εν τω καιρω εκεινω ζητησουσιν την αδικιαν ισραηλ και ουχ υπαρξει και τας αμαρτιας ιουδα και ου μη ευρεθωσιν οτι ιλεως εσομαι τοις υπολελειμμενοις επι της γης λεγει κυριος ַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵם֩ וּבָעֵ֨ת הַהִ֜יא נְאֻם־יְהוָ֗ה יְבֻקַּ֞שׁ אֶת־עֲוֺ֤ן יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאֵינֶ֔נּוּ וְאֶת־חַטֹּ֥את יְהוּדָ֖ה וְלֹ֣א תִמָּצֶ֑אינָה כִּ֥י אֶסְלַ֖ח לַאֲשֶׁ֥ר אַשְׁאִֽיר׃ In those days, and in that time, says the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve. |
| 21 | πικρως επιβηθι επ αυτην και επι τους κατοικουντας επ αυτην εκδικησον μαχαιρα και αφανισον λεγει κυριος και ποιει κατα παντα οσα εντελλομαι σοι ַל־הָאָ֤רֶץ מְרָתַ֙יִם֙ עֲלֵ֣ה עָלֶ֔יהָ וְאֶל־יוֹשְׁבֵ֖י פְּק֑וֹד חֲרֹ֨ב וְהַחֲרֵ֤ם אַֽחֲרֵיהֶם֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה וַעֲשֵׂ֕ה כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּיתִֽיךָ׃ ס Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, says the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded you. |
| 22 | φωνη πολεμου και συντριβη μεγαλη εν γη χαλδαιων ֥וֹל מִלְחָמָ֖ה בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְשֶׁ֖בֶר גָּדֽוֹל׃ A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction. |
| 23 | πως συνεκλασθη και συνετριβη η σφυρα πασης της γης πως εγενηθη εις αφανισμον βαβυλων εν εθνεσιν ֵ֤יךְ נִגְדַּע֙ וַיִּשָּׁבֵ֔ר פַּטִּ֖ישׁ כָּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ אֵ֣יךְ הָיְתָ֧ה לְשַׁמָּ֛ה בָּבֶ֖ל בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations! |
| 24 | επιθησονται σοι και αλωση ω βαβυλων και ου γνωση ευρεθης και ελημφθης οτι τω κυριω αντεστης ָקֹ֨שְׁתִּי לָ֤ךְ וְגַם־נִלְכַּדְתְּ֙ בָּבֶ֔ל וְאַ֖תְּ לֹ֣א יָדָ֑עַתְּ נִמְצֵאת֙ וְגַם־נִתְפַּ֔שְׂתְּ כִּ֥י בַֽיהוָ֖ה הִתְגָּרִֽית׃ I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, O Babylon, and you were not aware: you are found, and also caught, because you have striven against the LORD. |
| 25 | ηνοιξεν κυριος τον θησαυρον αυτου και εξηνεγκεν τα σκευη οργης αυτου οτι εργον τω κυριω θεω εν γη χαλδαιων ָּתַ֤ח יְהוָה֙ אֶת־א֣וֹצָר֔וֹ וַיּוֹצֵ֖א אֶת־כְּלֵ֣י זַעְמ֑וֹ כִּי־מְלָאכָ֣ה הִ֗יא לַֽאדֹנָ֧י יְהוִ֛ה צְבָא֖וֹת בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּֽים׃ The LORD has opened his armoury, and has brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans. |
| 26 | οτι εληλυθασιν οι καιροι αυτης ανοιξατε τας αποθηκας αυτης ερευνησατε αυτην ως σπηλαιον και εξολεθρευσατε αυτην μη γενεσθω αυτης καταλειμμα ֹּֽאוּ־לָ֤הּ מִקֵּץ֙ פִּתְח֣וּ מַאֲבֻסֶ֔יהָ סָלּ֥וּהָ כְמוֹ־עֲרֵמִ֖ים וְהַחֲרִימ֑וּהָ אַל־תְּהִי־לָ֖הּ שְׁאֵרִֽית׃ Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left. |
| 27 | αναξηρανατε αυτης παντας τους καρπους και καταβητωσαν εις σφαγην ουαι αυτοις οτι ηκει η ημερα αυτων και καιρος εκδικησεως αυτων ִרְבוּ֙ כָּל־פָּרֶ֔יהָ יֵרְד֖וּ לַטָּ֑בַח ה֣וֹי עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם כִּֽי־בָ֥א יוֹמָ֖ם עֵ֥ת פְּקֻדָּתָֽם׃ ס Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day has come, the time of their visitation. |
| 28 | φωνη φευγοντων και ανασωζομενων εκ γης βαβυλωνος του αναγγειλαι εις σιων την εκδικησιν παρα κυριου θεου ημων ֥וֹל נָסִ֛ים וּפְלֵטִ֖ים מֵאֶ֣רֶץ בָּבֶ֑ל לְהַגִּ֣יד בְּצִיּ֗וֹן אֶת־נִקְמַת֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ נִקְמַ֖ת הֵיכָלֽוֹ׃ The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple. |
| 29 | παραγγειλατε επι βαβυλωνα πολλοις παντι εντεινοντι τοξον παρεμβαλετε επ αυτην κυκλοθεν μη εστω αυτης ανασωζομενος ανταποδοτε αυτη κατα τα εργα αυτης κατα παντα οσα εποιησεν ποιησατε αυτη οτι προς τον κυριον αντεστη θεον αγιον του ισραηλ ַשְׁמִ֣יעוּ אֶל־בָּבֶ֣ל ׀ רַ֠בִּים כָּל־דֹּ֨רְכֵי קֶ֜שֶׁת חֲנ֧וּ עָלֶ֣יהָ סָבִ֗יב אַל־יְהִי־**לָהּ֙ פְּלֵטָ֔ה שַׁלְּמוּ־לָ֣הּ כְּפָעֳלָ֔הּ כְּכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשְׂתָ֖ה עֲשׂוּ־לָ֑הּ כִּ֧י אֶל־יְהוָ֛ה זָ֖דָה אֶל־קְד֥וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Call together the archers against Babylon: all you that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do unto her: for she has been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel. |
| 30 | δια τουτο πεσουνται οι νεανισκοι αυτης εν ταις πλατειαις αυτης και παντες οι ανδρες οι πολεμισται αυτης ριφησονται ειπεν κυριος ָכֵ֛ן יִפְּל֥וּ בַחוּרֶ֖יהָ בִּרְחֹבֹתֶ֑יהָ וְכָל־אַנְשֵׁ֨י מִלְחַמְתָּ֥הּ יִדַּ֛מּוּ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ ס Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, says the LORD. |
| 31 | ιδου εγω επι σε την υβριστριαν λεγει κυριος οτι ηκει η ημερα σου και ο καιρος εκδικησεως σου ִנְנִ֤י אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ זָד֔וֹן נְאֻם־אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִ֖ה צְבָא֑וֹת כִּ֛י בָּ֥א יוֹמְךָ֖ עֵ֥ת פְּקַדְתִּֽיךָ׃ Behold, I am against you, O you most proud, says the Lord GOD of hosts: for your day has come, the time that I will visit you. |
| 32 | και ασθενησει η υβρις σου και πεσειται και ουκ εσται ο ανιστων αυτην και αναψω πυρ εν τω δρυμω αυτης και καταφαγεται παντα τα κυκλω αυτης ְכָשַׁ֤ל זָדוֹן֙ וְנָפַ֔ל וְאֵ֥ין ל֖וֹ מֵקִ֑ים וְהִצַּ֤תִּי אֵשׁ֙ בְּעָרָ֔יו וְאָכְלָ֖ה כָּל־סְבִיבֹתָֽיו׃ ס And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him. |
| 33 | ταδε λεγει κυριος καταδεδυναστευνται οι υιοι ισραηλ και οι υιοι ιουδα αμα παντες οι αιχμαλωτευσαντες αυτους κατεδυναστευσαν αυτους οτι ουκ ηθελησαν εξαποστειλαι αυτους ֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת עֲשׁוּקִ֛ים בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל וּבְנֵי־יְהוּדָ֖ה יַחְדָּ֑ו וְכָל־שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙ הֶחֱזִ֣יקוּ בָ֔ם מֵאֲנ֖וּ שַׁלְּחָֽם׃ Thus says the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go. |
| 34 | και ο λυτρουμενος αυτους ισχυρος κυριος παντοκρατωρ ονομα αυτω κρισιν κρινει προς τους αντιδικους αυτου οπως εξαρη την γην και παροξυνει τοις κατοικουσι βαβυλωνα ֹּאֲלָ֣ם ׀ חָזָ֗ק יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ שְׁמ֔וֹ רִ֥יב יָרִ֖יב אֶת־רִיבָ֑ם לְמַ֙עַן֙ הִרְגִּ֣יעַ אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ וְהִרְגִּ֖יז לְיֹשְׁבֵ֥י בָבֶֽל׃ Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and trouble the inhabitants of Babylon. |
| 35 | μαχαιραν επι τους χαλδαιους και επι τους κατοικουντας βαβυλωνα και επι τους μεγιστανας αυτης και επι τους συνετους αυτης ֶ֥רֶב עַל־כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה וְאֶל־יֹשְׁבֵ֣י בָבֶ֔ל וְאֶל־שָׂרֶ֖יהָ וְאֶל־חֲכָמֶֽיהָ׃ A sword is upon the Chaldeans, says the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men. |
| 36 | μαχαιραν επι τους μαχητας αυτης και παραλυθησονται ֶ֥רֶב אֶל־הַבַּדִּ֖ים וְנֹאָ֑לוּ חֶ֥רֶב אֶל־גִּבּוֹרֶ֖יהָ וָחָֽתּוּ׃ A sword is upon the liars; and they shall be foolish: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed. |
| 37 | μαχαιραν επι τους ιππους αυτων και επι τα αρματα αυτων μαχαιραν επι τους μαχητας αυτων και επι τον συμμικτον τον εν μεσω αυτης και εσονται ωσει γυναικες μαχαιραν επι τους θησαυρους αυτης και διασκορπισθησονται ֶ֜רֶב אֶל־סוּסָ֣יו וְאֶל־רִכְבּ֗וֹ וְאֶל־כָּל־הָעֶ֛רֶב אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּתוֹכָ֖הּ וְהָי֣וּ לְנָשִׁ֑ים חֶ֥רֶב אֶל־אוֹצְרֹתֶ֖יהָ וּבֻזָּֽזוּ׃ A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed. |
| 38 | επι τω υδατι αυτης επεποιθει και καταισχυνθησονται οτι γη των γλυπτων εστιν και εν ταις νησοις ου κατεκαυχωντο ֹ֥רֶב אֶל־מֵימֶ֖יהָ וְיָבֵ֑שׁוּ כִּ֣י אֶ֤רֶץ פְּסִלִים֙ הִ֔יא וּבָאֵימִ֖ים יִתְהֹלָֽלוּ׃ A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols. |
| 39 | δια τουτο κατοικησουσιν ινδαλματα εν ταις νησοις και κατοικησουσιν εν αυτη θυγατερες σειρηνων ου μη κατοικηθη ουκετι εις τον αιωνα ָכֵ֗ן יֵשְׁב֤וּ צִיִּים֙ אֶת־אִיִּ֔ים וְיָ֥שְׁבוּ בָ֖הּ בְּנ֣וֹת יַֽעֲנָ֑ה וְלֹֽא־תֵשֵׁ֥ב עוֹד֙ לָנֶ֔צַח וְלֹ֥א תִשְׁכּ֖וֹן עַד־דּ֥וֹר וָדֽוֹר׃ Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation. |
| 40 | καθως κατεστρεψεν ο θεος σοδομα και γομορρα και τας ομορουσας αυταις ειπεν κυριος ου μη κατοικηση εκει ανθρωπος και ου μη παροικηση εκει υιος ανθρωπου ְּמַהְפֵּכַ֨ת אֱלֹהִ֜ים אֶת־סְדֹ֧ם וְאֶת־עֲמֹרָ֛ה וְאֶת־שְׁכֵנֶ֖יהָ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה לֹֽא־יֵשֵׁ֥ב שָׁם֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹֽא־יָג֥וּר בָּ֖הּ בֶּן־אָדָֽם׃ As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, says the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein. |
| 41 | ιδου λαος ερχεται απο βορρα και εθνος μεγα και βασιλεις πολλοι εξεγερθησονται απ εσχατου της γης ִנֵּ֛ה עַ֥ם בָּ֖א מִצָּפ֑וֹן וְג֤וֹי גָּדוֹל֙ וּמְלָכִ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים יֵעֹ֖רוּ מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. |
| 42 | τοξον και εγχειριδιον εχοντες ιταμος εστιν και ου μη ελεηση φωνη αυτων ως θαλασσα ηχησει εφ ιπποις ιππασονται παρεσκευασμενοι ωσπερ πυρ εις πολεμον προς σε θυγατερ βαβυλωνος ֶ֣שֶׁת וְכִידֹ֞ן יַחֲזִ֗יקוּ אַכְזָרִ֥י הֵ֙מָּה֙ וְלֹ֣א יְרַחֵ֔מוּ קוֹלָם֙ כַּיָּ֣ם יֶהֱמֶ֔ה וְעַל־סוּסִ֖ים יִרְכָּ֑בוּ עָר֗וּךְ כְּאִישׁ֙ לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה עָלַ֖יִךְ בַּת־בָּבֶֽל׃ They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not show mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against you, O daughter of Babylon. |
| 43 | ηκουσεν βασιλευς βαβυλωνος την ακοην αυτων και παρελυθησαν αι χειρες αυτου θλιψις κατεκρατησεν αυτου ωδινες ως τικτουσης ָׁמַ֧ע מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֛ל אֶת־שִׁמְעָ֖ם וְרָפ֣וּ יָדָ֑יו צָרָה֙ הֶחֱזִיקַ֔תְהוּ חִ֖יל כַּיּוֹלֵדָֽה׃ The king of Babylon has heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail. |
| 44 | ιδου ωσπερ λεων αναβησεται απο του ιορδανου εις τοπον αιθαμ οτι ταχεως εκδιωξω αυτους απ αυτης και παντα νεανισκον επ αυτην επιστησω οτι τις ωσπερ εγω και τις αντιστησεται μοι και τις ουτος ποιμην ος στησεται κατα προσωπον μου ִ֠נֵּה כְּאַרְיֵ֞ה יַעֲלֶ֨ה מִגְּא֣וֹן הַיַּרְדֵּן֮ אֶל־נְוֵ֣ה אֵיתָן֒ כִּֽי־אַרְגִּ֤עָה *ארוצם **אֲרִיצֵם֙ מֵֽעָלֶ֔יהָ וּמִ֥י בָח֖וּר אֵלֶ֣יהָ אֶפְקֹ֑ד כִּ֣י מִ֤י כָמ֙וֹנִי֙ וּמִ֣י יוֹעִדֶ֔נִּי וּמִֽי־זֶ֣ה רֹעֶ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲמֹ֖ד לְפָנָֽי׃ Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me? |
| 45 | δια τουτο ακουσατε την βουλην κυριου ην βεβουλευται επι βαβυλωνα και λογισμους αυτου ους ελογισατο επι τους κατοικουντας χαλδαιους εαν μη διαφθαρη τα αρνια των προβατων αυτων εαν μη αφανισθη νομη απ αυτων ָכֵ֞ן שִׁמְע֣וּ עֲצַת־יְהוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר יָעַץ֙ אֶל־בָּבֶ֔ל וּמַ֨חְשְׁבוֹתָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָשַׁ֖ב אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים אִם־לֹ֤א יִסְחָבוּם֙ צְעִירֵ֣י הַצֹּ֔אן אִם־לֹ֥א יַשִּׁ֛ים עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם נָוֶֽה׃ Therefore hear all of you the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them. |
| 46 | οτι απο φωνης αλωσεως βαβυλωνος σεισθησεται η γη και κραυγη εν εθνεσιν ακουσθησεται ִקּוֹל֙ נִתְפְּשָׂ֣ה בָבֶ֔ל נִרְעֲשָׁ֖ה הָאָ֑רֶץ וּזְעָקָ֖ה בַּגּוֹיִ֥ם נִשְׁמָֽע׃ ס At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations. |
