| 1 | Flight to Egyptκαι προσηλθον παντες οι ηγεμονες της δυναμεως και ιωαναν και αζαριας υιος μαασαιου και πας ο λαος απο μικρου εως μεγαλουַֽיִּגְּשׁוּ֙ כָּל־שָׂרֵ֣י הַחֲיָלִ֔ים וְיֽוֹחָנָן֙ בֶּן־קָרֵ֔חַ וִֽיזַנְיָ֖ה בֶּן־הוֹשַֽׁעְיָ֑ה וְכָל־הָעָ֖ם מִקָּטֹ֥ן וְעַד־גָּדֽוֹל׃ Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near, |

| 2 | προς ιερεμιαν τον προφητην και ειπαν αυτω πεσετω δη το ελεος ημων κατα προσωπον σου και προσευξαι προς κυριον τον θεον σου περι των καταλοιπων τουτων οτι κατελειφθημεν ολιγοι απο πολλων καθως οι οφθαλμοι σου βλεπουσιν ַיֹּאמְר֞וּ אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ הַנָּבִ֗יא תִּפָּל־נָ֤א תְחִנָּתֵ֙נוּ֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ וְהִתְפַּלֵּ֤ל בַּעֲדֵ֙נוּ֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ בְּעַ֖ד כָּל־הַשְּׁאֵרִ֣ית הַזֹּ֑את כִּֽי־נִשְׁאַ֤רְנוּ מְעַט֙ מֵֽהַרְבֵּ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עֵינֶ֖יךָ רֹא֥וֹת אֹתָֽנוּ׃ And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we plead to you, our supplication be accepted before you, and pray for us unto the LORD your God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as yours eyes do behold us:) |
| 3 | και αναγγειλατω ημιν κυριος ο θεος σου την οδον η πορευσομεθα εν αυτη και λογον ον ποιησομεν ְיַגֶּד־לָ֙נוּ֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ אֶת־הַדֶּ֖רֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נֵֽלֶךְ־בָּ֑הּ וְאֶת־הַדָּבָ֖ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ That the LORD your God may show us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do. |
| 4 | και ειπεν αυτοις ιερεμιας ηκουσα ιδου εγω προσευξομαι προς κυριον τον θεον ημων κατα τους λογους υμων και εσται ο λογος ον αν αποκριθησεται κυριος αναγγελω υμιν ου μη κρυψω αφ υμων ρημα ַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם יִרְמְיָ֤הוּ הַנָּבִיא֙ שָׁמַ֔עְתִּי הִנְנִ֧י מִתְפַּלֵּ֛ל אֶל־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם כְּדִבְרֵיכֶ֑ם וְֽהָיָ֡ה כָּֽל־הַדָּבָר֩ אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲנֶ֨ה יְהוָ֤ה אֶתְכֶם֙ אַגִּ֣יד לָכֶ֔ם לֹֽא־אֶמְנַ֥ע מִכֶּ֖ם דָּבָֽר׃ Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you. |
| 5 | και αυτοι ειπαν τω ιερεμια εστω κυριος εν ημιν εις μαρτυρα δικαιον και πιστον ει μη κατα παντα τον λογον ον αν αποστειλη σε κυριος προς ημας ουτως ποιησομεν ְהֵ֙מָּה֙ אָמְר֣וּ אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ יְהִ֤י יְהוָה֙ בָּ֔נוּ לְעֵ֖ד אֱמֶ֣ת וְנֶאֱמָ֑ן אִם־לֹ֡א כְּֽכָל־הַ֠דָּבָר אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִֽשְׁלָחֲךָ֜ יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ אֵלֵ֖ינוּ כֵּ֥ן נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD your God shall send you to us. |
| 6 | και εαν αγαθον και εαν κακον την φωνην κυριου του θεου ημων ου ημεις αποστελλομεν σε προς αυτον ακουσομεθα ινα βελτιον ημιν γενηται οτι ακουσομεθα της φωνης κυριου του θεου ημων ִם־ט֣וֹב וְאִם־רָ֔ע בְּק֣וֹל ׀ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ אֲשֶׁ֨ר *אנו **אֲנַ֜חְנוּ שֹׁלְחִ֥ים אֹתְךָ֛ אֵלָ֖יו נִשְׁמָ֑ע לְמַ֙עַן֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִֽיטַב־לָ֔נוּ כִּ֣י נִשְׁמַ֔ע בְּק֖וֹל יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ ס Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God. |
| 7 | και εγενηθη μετα δεκα ημερας εγενηθη λογος κυριου προς ιερεμιαν ַיְהִ֕י מִקֵּ֖ץ עֲשֶׂ֣רֶת יָמִ֑ים וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָֽהוּ׃ And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah. |
| 8 | και εκαλεσεν τον ιωαναν και τους ηγεμονας της δυναμεως και παντα τον λαον απο μικρου εως μεγαλου ַיִּקְרָ֗א אֶל־יֽוֹחָנָן֙ בֶּן־קָרֵ֔חַ וְאֶ֛ל כָּל־שָׂרֵ֥י הַחֲיָלִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתּ֑וֹ וּלְכָ֨ל־הָעָ֔ם לְמִקָּטֹ֥ן וְעַד־גָּדֽוֹל׃ Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, |
| 9 | και ειπεν αυτοις ουτως ειπεν κυριος ַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם כֹּֽה־אָמַ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁ֨ר שְׁלַחְתֶּ֤ם אֹתִי֙ אֵלָ֔יו לְהַפִּ֥יל תְּחִנַּתְכֶ֖ם לְפָנָֽיו׃ And said unto them, Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, unto whom all of you sent me to present your supplication before him; |
| 10 | εαν καθισαντες καθισητε εν τη γη ταυτη οικοδομησω υμας και ου μη καθελω και φυτευσω υμας και ου μη εκτιλω οτι αναπεπαυμαι επι τοις κακοις οις εποιησα υμιν ִם־שׁ֤וֹב תֵּֽשְׁבוּ֙ בָּאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את וּבָנִ֤יתִי אֶתְכֶם֙ וְלֹ֣א אֶהֱרֹ֔ס וְנָטַעְתִּ֥י אֶתְכֶ֖ם וְלֹ֣א אֶתּ֑וֹשׁ כִּ֤י נִחַ֙מְתִּי֙ אֶל־הָ֣רָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי לָכֶֽם׃ If all of you will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you. |
| 11 | μη φοβηθητε απο προσωπου βασιλεως βαβυλωνος ου υμεις φοβεισθε απο προσωπου αυτου μη φοβηθητε φησιν κυριος οτι μεθ υμων εγω ειμι του εξαιρεισθαι υμας και σωζειν υμας εκ χειρος αυτου ַל־תִּֽירְא֗וּ מִפְּנֵי֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל אֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּ֥ם יְרֵאִ֖ים מִפָּנָ֑יו אַל־תִּֽירְא֤וּ מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה כִּֽי־אִתְּכֶ֣ם אָ֔נִי לְהוֹשִׁ֧יעַ אֶתְכֶ֛ם וּלְהַצִּ֥יל אֶתְכֶ֖ם מִיָּדֽוֹ׃ Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom all of you are afraid; be not afraid of him, says the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand. |
| 12 | και δωσω υμιν ελεος και ελεησω υμας και επιστρεψω υμας εις την γην υμων ְאֶתֵּ֥ן לָכֶ֛ם רַחֲמִ֖ים וְרִחַ֣ם אֶתְכֶ֑ם וְהֵשִׁ֥יב אֶתְכֶ֖ם אֶל־אַדְמַתְכֶֽם׃ And I will show mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land. |
| 13 | και ει λεγετε υμεις ου μη καθισωμεν εν τη γη ταυτη προς το μη ακουσαι φωνης κυριου ְאִם־אֹמְרִ֣ים אַתֶּ֔ם לֹ֥א נֵשֵׁ֖ב בָּאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֑את לְבִלְתִּ֣י שְׁמֹ֔עַ בְּק֖וֹל יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃ But if all of you say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God, |
| 14 | οτι εις γην αιγυπτου εισελευσομεθα και ου μη ιδωμεν πολεμον και φωνην σαλπιγγος ου μη ακουσωμεν και εν αρτοις ου μη πεινασωμεν και εκει οικησομεν ֵאמֹ֗ר לֹ֚א כִּ֣י אֶ֤רֶץ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ נָב֔וֹא אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־נִרְאֶה֙ מִלְחָמָ֔ה וְק֥וֹל שׁוֹפָ֖ר לֹ֣א נִשְׁמָ֑ע וְלַלֶּ֥חֶם לֹֽא־נִרְעָ֖ב וְשָׁ֥ם נֵשֵֽׁב׃ Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell: |
| 15 | δια τουτο ακουσατε λογον κυριου ουτως ειπεν κυριος εαν υμεις δωτε το προσωπον υμων εις αιγυπτον και εισελθητε εκει κατοικειν ְעַתָּ֕ה לָכֵ֛ן שִׁמְע֥וּ דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה שְׁאֵרִ֣ית יְהוּדָ֑ה כֹּֽה־אָמַר֩ יְהוָ֨ה צְבָא֜וֹת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אִם־אַ֠תֶּם שׂ֣וֹם תְּשִׂמ֤וּן פְּנֵיכֶם֙ לָבֹ֣א מִצְרַ֔יִם וּבָאתֶ֖ם לָג֥וּר שָֽׁם׃ And now therefore hear the word of the LORD, all of you remnant of Judah; Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; If all of you wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there; |
| 16 | και εσται η ρομφαια ην υμεις φοβεισθε απο προσωπου αυτης ευρησει υμας εν γη αιγυπτου και ο λιμος ου υμεις λογον εχετε απο προσωπου αυτου καταλημψεται υμας οπισω υμων εν αιγυπτω και εκει αποθανεισθε ְהָיְתָ֣ה הַחֶ֗רֶב אֲשֶׁ֤ר אַתֶּם֙ יְרֵאִ֣ים מִמֶּ֔נָּה שָׁ֛ם תַּשִּׂ֥יג אֶתְכֶ֖ם בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וְהָרָעָ֞ב אֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּ֣ם ׀ דֹּאֲגִ֣ים מִמֶּ֗נּוּ שָׁ֣ם יִדְבַּ֧ק אַחֲרֵיכֶ֛ם מִצְרַ֖יִם וְשָׁ֥ם תָּמֻֽתוּ׃ Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which all of you feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof all of you were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there all of you shall die. |
| 17 | και εσονται παντες οι ανθρωποι και παντες οι αλλογενεις οι θεντες το προσωπον αυτων εις γην αιγυπτου ενοικειν εκει εκλειψουσιν εν τη ρομφαια και εν τω λιμω και ουκ εσται αυτων ουθεις σωζομενος απο των κακων ων εγω επαγω επ αυτους ְיִֽהְי֣וּ כָל־הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים אֲשֶׁר־שָׂ֨מוּ אֶת־פְּנֵיהֶ֜ם לָב֤וֹא מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ לָג֣וּר שָׁ֔ם יָמ֕וּתוּ בַּחֶ֖רֶב בָּרָעָ֣ב וּבַדָּ֑בֶר וְלֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֤ה לָהֶם֙ שָׂרִ֣יד וּפָלִ֔יט מִפְּנֵי֙ הָֽרָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲנִ֖י מֵבִ֥יא עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ ס So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them. |
| 18 | οτι ουτως ειπεν κυριος καθως εσταξεν ο θυμος μου επι τους κατοικουντας ιερουσαλημ ουτως σταξει ο θυμος μου εφ υμας εισελθοντων υμων εις αιγυπτον και εσεσθε εις αβατον και υποχειριοι και εις αραν και εις ονειδισμον και ου μη ιδητε ουκετι τον τοπον τουτον ִּי֩ כֹ֨ה אָמַ֜ר יְהוָ֣ה צְבָאוֹת֮ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ נִתַּ֨ךְ אַפִּ֜י וַחֲמָתִ֗י עַל־יֹֽשְׁבֵי֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם כֵּ֣ן תִּתַּ֤ךְ חֲמָתִי֙ עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם בְּבֹאֲכֶ֖ם מִצְרָ֑יִם וִהְיִיתֶ֞ם לְאָלָ֤ה וּלְשַׁמָּה֙ וְלִקְלָלָ֣ה וּלְחֶרְפָּ֔ה וְלֹֽא־תִרְא֣וּ ע֔וֹד אֶת־הַמָּק֖וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury has been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when all of you shall enter into Egypt: and all of you shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and all of you shall see this place no more. |
| 19 | α ελαλησεν κυριος εφ υμας τους καταλοιπους ιουδα μη εισελθητε εις αιγυπτον και νυν γνοντες γνωσεσθε ִּבֶּ֨ר יְהוָ֤ה עֲלֵיכֶם֙ שְׁאֵרִ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה אַל־תָּבֹ֖אוּ מִצְרָ֑יִם יָדֹ֙עַ֙ תֵּֽדְע֔וּ כִּי־הַעִידֹ֥תִי בָכֶ֖ם הַיּֽוֹם׃ The LORD has said concerning you, O all of you remnant of Judah; Go all of you not into Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day. |
| 20 | οτι επονηρευσασθε εν ψυχαις υμων αποστειλαντες με λεγοντες προσευξαι περι ημων προς κυριον και κατα παντα α εαν λαληση σοι κυριος ποιησομεν ִּ֣י *התעתים **הִתְעֵיתֶם֮ בְּנַפְשֽׁוֹתֵיכֶם֒ כִּֽי־אַתֶּ֞ם שְׁלַחְתֶּ֣ם אֹתִ֗י אֶל־יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל בַּעֲדֵ֔נוּ אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ וּכְכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יֹאמַ֜ר יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵ֛ינוּ כֵּ֥ן הַגֶּד־לָ֖נוּ וְעָשִֽׂינוּ׃ For all of you dissembled in your hearts, when all of you sent me unto the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us unto the LORD our God; and according unto all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it. |
| 21 | και ουκ ηκουσατε της φωνης κυριου ης απεστειλεν με προς υμας ָאַגִּ֥ד לָכֶ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם וְלֹ֣א שְׁמַעְתֶּ֗ם בְּקוֹל֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם וּלְכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁר־שְׁלָחַ֥נִי אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ And now I have this day declared it to you; but all of you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor any thing for the which he has sent me unto you. |
| 22 | και νυν εν ρομφαια και εν λιμω εκλειψετε εν τω τοπω ου υμεις βουλεσθε εισελθειν κατοικειν εκει ְעַתָּה֙ יָדֹ֣עַ תֵּֽדְע֔וּ כִּ֗י בַּחֶ֛רֶב בָּרָעָ֥ב וּבַדֶּ֖בֶר תָּמ֑וּתוּ בַּמָּקוֹם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חֲפַצְתֶּ֔ם לָב֖וֹא לָג֥וּר שָֽׁם׃ ס Now therefore know certainly that all of you shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place where all of you desire to go and to sojourn. |
