The Glory of Zion
φωτιζου φωτιζου ιερουσαλημ ηκει γαρ σου το φως και η δοξα κυριου επι σε ανατεταλκεν
֥וּמִי א֖וֹרִי כִּ֣י בָ֣א אוֹרֵ֑ךְ וּכְב֥וֹד יְהוָ֖ה עָלַ֥יִךְ זָרָֽח׃
Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
2 ιδου σκοτος και γνοφος καλυψει γην επ εθνη επι δε σε φανησεται κυριος και η δοξα αυτου επι σε οφθησεται
ִּֽי־הִנֵּ֤ה הַחֹ֙שֶׁךְ֙ יְכַסֶּה־אֶ֔רֶץ וַעֲרָפֶ֖ל לְאֻמִּ֑ים וְעָלַ֙יִךְ֙ יִזְרַ֣ח יְהוָ֔ה וּכְבוֹד֖וֹ עָלַ֥יִךְ יֵרָאֶֽה׃
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon you, and his glory shall be seen upon you.
3 και πορευσονται βασιλεις τω φωτι σου και εθνη τη λαμπροτητι σου
ְהָלְכ֥וּ גוֹיִ֖ם לְאוֹרֵ֑ךְ וּמְלָכִ֖ים לְנֹ֥גַהּ זַרְחֵֽךְ׃
And the Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
4 αρον κυκλω τους οφθαλμους σου και ιδε συνηγμενα τα τεκνα σου ιδου ηκασιν παντες οι υιοι σου μακροθεν και αι θυγατερες σου επ ωμων αρθησονται
ְׂאִֽי־סָבִ֤יב עֵינַ֙יִךְ֙ וּרְאִ֔י כֻּלָּ֖ם נִקְבְּצ֣וּ בָֽאוּ־לָ֑ךְ בָּנַ֙יִךְ֙ מֵרָח֣וֹק יָבֹ֔אוּ וּבְנֹתַ֖יִךְ עַל־צַ֥ד תֵּאָמַֽנָה׃
Lift up yours eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to you: your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
5 τοτε οψη και φοβηθηση και εκστηση τη καρδια οτι μεταβαλει εις σε πλουτος θαλασσης και εθνων και λαων και ηξουσιν σοι
ָ֤ז תִּרְאִי֙ וְנָהַ֔רְתְּ וּפָחַ֥ד וְרָחַ֖ב לְבָבֵ֑ךְ כִּֽי־יֵהָפֵ֤ךְ עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ הֲמ֣וֹן יָ֔ם חֵ֥יל גּוֹיִ֖ם יָבֹ֥אוּ לָֽךְ׃
Then you shall see, and flow together, and yours heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto you, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto you.
6 αγελαι καμηλων και καλυψουσιν σε καμηλοι μαδιαμ και γαιφα παντες εκ σαβα ηξουσιν φεροντες χρυσιον και λιβανον οισουσιν και το σωτηριον κυριου ευαγγελιουνται
ִֽׁפְעַ֨ת גְּמַלִּ֜ים תְּכַסֵּ֗ךְ בִּכְרֵ֤י מִדְיָן֙ וְעֵיפָ֔ה כֻּלָּ֖ם מִשְּׁבָ֣א יָבֹ֑אוּ זָהָ֤ב וּלְבוֹנָה֙ יִשָּׂ֔אוּ וּתְהִלֹּ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה יְבַשֵּֽׂרוּ׃
The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show forth the praises of the LORD.
7 και παντα τα προβατα κηδαρ συναχθησονται σοι και κριοι ναβαιωθ ηξουσιν σοι και ανενεχθησεται δεκτα επι το θυσιαστηριον μου και ο οικος της προσευχης μου δοξασθησεται
ָּל־צֹ֤אן קֵדָר֙ יִקָּ֣בְצוּ לָ֔ךְ אֵילֵ֥י נְבָי֖וֹת יְשָׁרְת֑וּנֶךְ יַעֲל֤וּ עַל־רָצוֹן֙ מִזְבְּחִ֔י וּבֵ֥ית תִּפְאַרְתִּ֖י אֲפָאֵֽר׃
All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto you: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.
8 τινες οιδε ως νεφελαι πετανται και ως περιστεραι συν νεοσσοις
ִי־אֵ֖לֶּה כָּעָ֣ב תְּעוּפֶ֑ינָה וְכַיּוֹנִ֖ים אֶל־אֲרֻבֹּתֵיהֶֽם׃
Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
9 εμε νησοι υπεμειναν και πλοια θαρσις εν πρωτοις αγαγειν τα τεκνα σου μακροθεν και τον αργυρον και τον χρυσον μετ αυτων δια το ονομα κυριου το αγιον και δια το τον αγιον του ισραηλ ενδοξον ειναι
ִּֽי־לִ֣י ׀ אִיִּ֣ים יְקַוּ֗וּ וָאֳנִיּ֤וֹת תַּרְשִׁישׁ֙ בָּרִ֣אשֹׁנָ֔ה לְהָבִ֤יא בָנַ֙יִךְ֙ מֵֽרָח֔וֹק כַּסְפָּ֥ם וּזְהָבָ֖ם אִתָּ֑ם לְשֵׁם֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהַ֔יִךְ וְלִקְד֥וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל כִּ֥י פֵאֲרָֽךְ׃
Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.
10 και οικοδομησουσιν αλλογενεις τα τειχη σου και οι βασιλεις αυτων παραστησονται σοι δια γαρ οργην μου επαταξα σε και δια ελεον ηγαπησα σε
ּבָנ֤וּ בְנֵֽי־נֵכָר֙ חֹמֹתַ֔יִךְ וּמַלְכֵיהֶ֖ם יְשָׁרְת֑וּנֶךְ כִּ֤י בְקִצְפִּי֙ הִכִּיתִ֔יךְ וּבִרְצוֹנִ֖י רִֽחַמְתִּֽיךְ׃
And the sons of strangers shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister unto you: for in my wrath I stroke you, but in my favour have I had mercy on you.
11 και ανοιχθησονται αι πυλαι σου δια παντος ημερας και νυκτος ου κλεισθησονται εισαγαγειν προς σε δυναμιν εθνων και βασιλεις αγομενους
ּפִתְּח֨וּ שְׁעָרַ֧יִךְ תָּמִ֛יד יוֹמָ֥ם וָלַ֖יְלָה לֹ֣א יִסָּגֵ֑רוּ לְהָבִ֤יא אֵלַ֙יִךְ֙ חֵ֣יל גּוֹיִ֔ם וּמַלְכֵיהֶ֖ם נְהוּגִֽים׃
Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto you the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.
12 τα γαρ εθνη και οι βασιλεις οιτινες ου δουλευσουσιν σοι απολουνται και τα εθνη ερημια ερημωθησονται
ִּֽי־הַגּ֧וֹי וְהַמַּמְלָכָ֛ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יַעַבְד֖וּךְ יֹאבֵ֑דוּ וְהַגּוֹיִ֖ם חָרֹ֥ב יֶחֱרָֽבוּ׃
For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.
13 και η δοξα του λιβανου προς σε ηξει εν κυπαρισσω και πευκη και κεδρω αμα δοξασαι τον τοπον τον αγιον μου
ְּב֤וֹד הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ אֵלַ֣יִךְ יָב֔וֹא בְּר֛וֹשׁ תִּדְהָ֥ר וּתְאַשּׁ֖וּר יַחְדָּ֑ו לְפָאֵר֙ מְק֣וֹם מִקְדָּשִׁ֔י וּמְק֥וֹם רַגְלַ֖י אֲכַבֵּֽד׃
The glory of Lebanon shall come unto you, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.
14 και πορευσονται προς σε δεδοικοτες υιοι ταπεινωσαντων σε και παροξυναντων σε και κληθηση πολις κυριου σιων αγιου ισραηλ
ְהָלְכ֨וּ אֵלַ֤יִךְ שְׁח֙וֹחַ֙ בְּנֵ֣י מְעַנַּ֔יִךְ וְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲו֛וּ עַל־כַּפּ֥וֹת רַגְלַ֖יִךְ כָּל־מְנַֽאֲצָ֑יִךְ וְקָ֤רְאוּ לָךְ֙ עִ֣יר יְהוָ֔ה צִיּ֖וֹן קְד֥וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
The sons also of them that afflicted you shall come bending unto you; and all they that despised you shall bow themselves down at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you; The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
15 δια το γεγενησθαι σε εγκαταλελειμμενην και μεμισημενην και ουκ ην ο βοηθων και θησω σε αγαλλιαμα αιωνιον ευφροσυνην γενεων γενεαις
ַּ֧חַת הֱיוֹתֵ֛ךְ עֲזוּבָ֥ה וּשְׂנוּאָ֖ה וְאֵ֣ין עוֹבֵ֑ר וְשַׂמְתִּיךְ֙ לִגְא֣וֹן עוֹלָ֔ם מְשׂ֖וֹשׂ דּ֥וֹר וָדֽוֹר׃
Whereas you has been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through you, I will make you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.
16 και θηλασεις γαλα εθνων και πλουτον βασιλεων φαγεσαι και γνωση οτι εγω κυριος ο σωζων σε και εξαιρουμενος σε θεος ισραηλ
ְיָנַקְתְּ֙ חֲלֵ֣ב גּוֹיִ֔ם וְשֹׁ֥ד מְלָכִ֖ים תִּינָ֑קִי וְיָדַ֗עַתְּ כִּ֣י אֲנִ֤י יְהוָה֙ מֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֔ךְ וְגֹאֲלֵ֖ךְ אֲבִ֥יר יַעֲקֹֽב׃
You shall also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shall suck the breast of kings: and you shall know that I the LORD am your Saviour and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
17 και αντι χαλκου οισω σοι χρυσιον αντι δε σιδηρου οισω σοι αργυριον αντι δε ξυλων οισω σοι χαλκον αντι δε λιθων σιδηρον και δωσω τους αρχοντας σου εν ειρηνη και τους επισκοπους σου εν δικαιοσυνη
ַּ֣חַת הַנְּחֹ֜שֶׁת אָבִ֣יא זָהָ֗ב וְתַ֤חַת הַבַּרְזֶל֙ אָ֣בִיא כֶ֔סֶף וְתַ֤חַת הָֽעֵצִים֙ נְחֹ֔שֶׁת וְתַ֥חַת הָאֲבָנִ֖ים בַּרְזֶ֑ל וְשַׂמְתִּ֤י פְקֻדָּתֵךְ֙ שָׁל֔וֹם וְנֹגְשַׂ֖יִךְ צְדָקָֽה׃
For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make your officers peace, and yours exactors righteousness.
18 και ουκ ακουσθησεται ετι αδικια εν τη γη σου ουδε συντριμμα ουδε ταλαιπωρια εν τοις οριοις σου αλλα κληθησεται σωτηριον τα τειχη σου και αι πυλαι σου γλυμμα
ֹא־יִשָּׁמַ֨ע ע֤וֹד חָמָס֙ בְּאַרְצֵ֔ךְ שֹׁ֥ד וָשֶׁ֖בֶר בִּגְבוּלָ֑יִךְ וְקָרָ֤את יְשׁוּעָה֙ חוֹמֹתַ֔יִךְ וּשְׁעָרַ֖יִךְ תְּהִלָּֽה׃
Violence shall no more be heard in your land, wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.
19 και ουκ εσται σοι ο ηλιος εις φως ημερας ουδε ανατολη σεληνης φωτιει σοι την νυκτα αλλ εσται σοι κυριος φως αιωνιον και ο θεος δοξα σου
ֹא־יִֽהְיֶה־לָּ֨ךְ ע֤וֹד הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ לְא֣וֹר יוֹמָ֔ם וּלְנֹ֕גַהּ הַיָּרֵ֖חַ לֹא־יָאִ֣יר לָ֑ךְ וְהָיָה־לָ֤ךְ יְהוָה֙ לְא֣וֹר עוֹלָ֔ם וֵאלֹהַ֖יִךְ לְתִפְאַרְתֵּֽךְ׃
The sun shall be no more your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto you: but the LORD shall be unto you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.
20 ου γαρ δυσεται ο ηλιος σοι και η σεληνη σοι ουκ εκλειψει εσται γαρ κυριος σοι φως αιωνιον και αναπληρωθησονται αι ημεραι του πενθους σου
ֹא־יָב֥וֹא עוֹד֙ שִׁמְשֵׁ֔ךְ וִירֵחֵ֖ךְ לֹ֣א יֵאָסֵ֑ף כִּ֣י יְהוָ֗ה יִֽהְיֶה־לָּךְ֙ לְא֣וֹר עוֹלָ֔ם וְשָׁלְמ֖וּ יְמֵ֥י אֶבְלֵֽךְ׃
Your sun shall no more go down; neither shall your moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be yours everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.
21 και ο λαος σου πας δικαιος και δι αιωνος κληρονομησουσιν την γην φυλασσων το φυτευμα εργα χειρων αυτου εις δοξαν
ְעַמֵּךְ֙ כֻּלָּ֣ם צַדִּיקִ֔ים לְעוֹלָ֖ם יִ֣ירְשׁוּ אָ֑רֶץ נֵ֧צֶר *מטעו **מַטָּעַ֛י מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָדַ֖י לְהִתְפָּאֵֽר׃
Your people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
22 ο ολιγοστος εσται εις χιλιαδας και ο ελαχιστος εις εθνος μεγα εγω κυριος κατα καιρον συναξω αυτους
ַקָּטֹן֙ יִֽהְיֶ֣ה לָאֶ֔לֶף וְהַצָּעִ֖יר לְג֣וֹי עָצ֑וּם אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה בְּעִתָּ֥הּ אֲחִישֶֽׁנָּה׃ ס
A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.
