Solomon’s Officials and Governors
και ην ο βασιλευς σαλωμων βασιλευων επι ισραηλ
וַֽיְהִי֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה מֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס
So king Solomon was king over all Israel.
2 και ουτοι οι αρχοντες οι ησαν αυτου αζαριου υιος σαδωκ
וְאֵ֥לֶּה הַשָּׂרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁר־ל֑וֹ עֲזַרְיָ֥הוּ בֶן־צָד֖וֹק הַכֹּהֵֽן׃ ס
And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,
3 και ελιαρεφ και αχια υιος σαβα γραμματεις και ιωσαφατ υιος αχιλιδ υπομιμνησκων
אֱלִיחֹ֧רֶף וַאֲחִיָּ֛ה בְּנֵ֥י שִׁישָׁ֖א סֹפְרִ֑ים יְהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט בֶּן־אֲחִיל֖וּד הַמַּזְכִּֽיר׃
Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.
4 και σαδουχ και αβιαθαρ ιερεις
וּבְנָיָ֥הוּ בֶן־יְהוֹיָדָ֖ע עַל־הַצָּבָ֑א וְצָד֥וֹק וְאֶבְיָתָ֖ר כֹּהֲנִֽים׃ ס
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:
5 και ορνια υιος ναθαν επι των καθεσταμενων και ζαβουθ υιος ναθαν εταιρος του βασιλεως
וַעֲזַרְיָ֥הוּ בֶן־נָתָ֖ן עַל־הַנִּצָּבִ֑ים וְזָב֧וּד בֶּן־נָתָ֛ן כֹּהֵ֖ן רֵעֶ֥ה הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king's friend:
6 και αχιηλ οικονομος και ελιαβ υιος σαφ επι της πατριας και αδωνιραμ υιος εφρα επι των φορων
וַאֲחִישָׁ֖ר עַל־הַבָּ֑יִת וַאֲדֹנִירָ֥ם בֶּן־עַבְדָּ֖א עַל־הַמַּֽס׃ ס
And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.
7 και τω σαλωμων δωδεκα καθεσταμενοι επι παντα ισραηλ χορηγειν τω βασιλει και τω οικω αυτου μηνα εν τω ενιαυτω εγινετο επι τον ενα χορηγειν
וְלִשְׁלֹמֹ֞ה שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂ֤ר נִצָּבִים֙ עַל־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְכִלְכְּל֥וּ אֶת־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וְאֶת־בֵּית֑וֹ חֹ֧דֶשׁ בַּשָּׁנָ֛ה יִהְיֶ֥ה עַל־*אחד **הָאֶחָ֖ד לְכַלְכֵּֽל׃ ס
And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.
8 και ταυτα τα ονοματα αυτων βενωρ εν ορει εφραιμ εις
וְאֵ֣לֶּה שְׁמוֹתָ֔ם בֶּן־ח֖וּר בְּהַ֥ר אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ ס
And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim:
9 υιος ρηχαβ εν μαχεμας και βηθαλαμιν και βαιθσαμυς και αιλων εως βαιθαναν εις
בֶּן־דֶּ֛קֶר בְּמָקַ֥ץ וּבְשַֽׁעַלְבִ֖ים וּבֵ֣ית שָׁ֑מֶשׁ וְאֵיל֖וֹן בֵּ֥ית חָנָֽן׃ ס
The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Bethshemesh, and Elonbethhanan:
10 υιος εσωθ βηρβηθνεμα λουσαμηνχα και ρησφαρα
בֶּן־חֶ֖סֶד בָּֽאֲרֻבּ֑וֹת ל֥וֹ שֹׂכֹ֖ה וְכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ חֵֽפֶר׃ ס
The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher:
11 χιναναδαβ και αναφαθι ανηρ ταβληθ θυγατηρ σαλωμων ην αυτω εις γυναικα εις
בֶּן־אֲבִֽינָדָ֖ב כָּל־נָ֣פַת דֹּ֑אר טָפַת֙ בַּת־שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה הָ֥יְתָה לּ֖וֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ ס
The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
12 βακχα υιος αχιλιδ θααναχ και μεκεδω και πας ο οικος σαν ο παρα σεσαθαν υποκατω του εσραε και εκ βαισαφουδ εβελμαωλα εως μαεβερ λουκαμ εις
בַּֽעֲנָא֙ בֶּן־אֲחִיל֔וּד תַּעְנַ֖ךְ וּמְגִדּ֑וֹ וְכָל־בֵּ֣ית שְׁאָ֡ן אֲשֶׁר֩ אֵ֨צֶל צָרְתַ֜נָה מִתַּ֣חַת לְיִזְרְעֶ֗אל מִבֵּ֤ית שְׁאָן֙ עַ֚ד אָבֵ֣ל מְחוֹלָ֔ה עַ֖ד מֵעֵ֥בֶר לְיָקְמֳעָֽם׃ ס
Baana the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo, and all Bethshean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah, even unto the place that is beyond Jokneam:
13 υιος γαβερ εν ρεμαθ γαλααδ τουτω σχοινισμα ερεγαβα η εν τη βασαν εξηκοντα πολεις μεγαλαι τειχηρεις και μοχλοι χαλκοι εις
בֶּן־גֶּ֖בֶר בְּרָמֹ֣ת גִּלְעָ֑ד ל֡וֹ חַוֺּת֩ יָאִ֨יר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁ֜ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּגִּלְעָ֗ד ל֚וֹ חֶ֤בֶל אַרְגֹּב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּבָּשָׁ֔ן שִׁשִּׁים֙ עָרִ֣ים גְּדֹל֔וֹת חוֹמָ֖ה וּבְרִ֥יחַ נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ ס
The son of Geber, in Ramothgilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brazen bars:
14 αχιναδαβ υιος αχελ μααναιν εις
אֲחִֽינָדָ֥ב בֶּן־עִדֹּ֖א מַחֲנָֽיְמָה׃
Ahinadab the son of Iddo had Mahanaim:
15 αχιμαας εν νεφθαλι και ουτος ελαβεν την βασεμμαθ θυγατερα σαλωμων εις γυναικα εις
אֲחִימַ֖עַץ בְּנַפְתָּלִ֑י גַּם־ה֗וּא לָקַ֛ח אֶת־בָּשְׂמַ֥ת בַּת־שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לְאִשָּֽׁה׃
Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
16 βαανα υιος χουσι εν τη μααλαθ εις
בַּֽעֲנָא֙ בֶּן־חוּשָׁ֔י בְּאָשֵׁ֖ר וּבְעָלֽוֹת׃ ס
Baanah the son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth:
17 ιωσαφατ υιος φουασουδ εν ισσαχαρ
יְהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט בֶּן־פָּר֖וּחַ בְּיִשָׂשכָֽר׃ ס
Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar:
18 σαμαα υιος ηλα εν τω βενιαμιν
שִׁמְעִ֥י בֶן־אֵלָ֖א בְּבִנְיָמִֽן׃ ס
Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin:
19 γαβερ υιος αδαι εν τη γη γαδ γη σηων βασιλεως του εσεβων και ωγ βασιλεως του βασαν και νασιφ εις εν γη ιουδα
גֶּ֥בֶר בֶּן־אֻרִ֖י בְּאֶ֣רֶץ גִּלְעָ֑ד אֶ֜רֶץ סִיח֣וֹן ׀ מֶ֣לֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִ֗י וְעֹג֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַבָּשָׁ֔ן וּנְצִ֥יב אֶחָ֖ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּאָֽרֶץ׃
Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer which was in the land.

Solomon’s Daily Provisions

יְהוּדָ֤ה וְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ רַבִּ֔ים כַּח֥וֹל אֲשֶׁר־עַל־הַיָּ֖ם לָרֹ֑ב אֹכְלִ֥ים וְשֹׁתִ֖ים וּשְׂמֵחִֽים׃
Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.

And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22 και ταυτα τα δεοντα τω σαλωμων εν ημερα μια τριακοντα κοροι σεμιδαλεως και εξηκοντα κοροι αλευρου κεκοπανισμενου
And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,
23 και δεκα μοσχοι εκλεκτοι και εικοσι βοες νομαδες και εκατον προβατα εκτος ελαφων και δορκαδων και ορνιθων εκλεκτων σιτευτα
Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallow-deer, and fatted fowl.
24 οτι ην αρχων περαν του ποταμου και ην αυτω ειρηνη εκ παντων των μερων κυκλοθεν
For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.

And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
26
And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27 και εχορηγουν οι καθεσταμενοι ουτως τω βασιλει σαλωμων και παντα τα διαγγελματα επι την τραπεζαν του βασιλεως εκαστος μηνα αυτου ου παραλλασσουσιν λογον και τας κριθας και το αχυρον τοις ιπποις και τοις αρμασιν ηρον εις τον τοπον ου αν η ο βασιλευς εκαστος κατα την συνταξιν αυτου
And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.

Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.

Solomon’s Wisdom
και εδωκεν κυριος φρονησιν τω σαλωμων και σοφιαν πολλην σφοδρα και χυμα καρδιας ως η αμμος η παρα την θαλασσαν
And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
30 και επληθυνθη σαλωμων σφοδρα υπερ την φρονησιν παντων αρχαιων ανθρωπων και υπερ παντας φρονιμους αιγυπτου
And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31 και εσοφισατο υπερ παντας τους ανθρωπους και εσοφισατο υπερ γαιθαν τον εζραιτην και τον αιμαν και τον χαλκαλ και δαρδα υιους μαλ
For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.
32 και ελαλησεν σαλωμων τρισχιλιας παραβολας και ησαν ωδαι αυτου πεντακισχιλιαι
And he spoke three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.
33 και ελαλησεν περι των ξυλων απο της κεδρου της εν τω λιβανω και εως της υσσωπου της εκπορευομενης δια του τοιχου και ελαλησεν περι των κτηνων και περι των πετεινων και περι των ερπετων και περι των ιχθυων
And he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springs out of the wall: he spoke also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
34 και παρεγινοντο παντες οι λαοι ακουσαι της σοφιας σαλωμων και ελαμβανεν δωρα παρα παντων των βασιλεων της γης οσοι ηκουον της σοφιας αυτου α και ελαβεν σαλωμων την θυγατερα φαραω εαυτω εις γυναικα και εισηγαγεν αυτην εις την πολιν δαυιδ εως συντελεσαι αυτον τον οικον κυριου και τον οικον εαυτου και το τειχος ιερουσαλημ β τοτε ανεβη φαραω βασιλευς αιγυπτου και προκατελαβετο την γαζερ και ενεπυρισεν αυτην και τον χανανιτην τον κατοικουντα εν μεργαβ και εδωκεν αυτας φαραω αποστολας θυγατρι αυτου γυναικι σαλωμων και σαλωμων ωκοδομησεν την γαζερ
And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.
